[attr="class","dilyrics2"]I'm so proud of myself for coming up with a pun title :')
[attr="class","dibody2"]It wasn’t Tate’s first time in Lilycove City, but it was his first time with Mariko. He and his family liked to make day trips here every now and then, but they mostly stuck to the beach and the nearby strip. It was simple, but familiar and a good time. He was up for trying something new if Mari wanted to, but if not, his typical itinerary actually sounded pretty luxurious to him.
“So beach… shopping… probably get something to eat at some point… Anything else in particular that you’d like to do while we’re here? If not, I vote we go to the beach first. That way we don’t have to swim on full stomachs or babysit souvenirs.”
It was still fairly early in the spring and a cool breeze snuck into his light jacket. It wasn’t too bad though, especially considering how hilly the city could be and the fact that they were on foot. Luckily, it was a sunny day as well.
For Tate, the air here was practically made of nostalgia, saccharine sweet with fun memories and the escape from responsibility, yet tinged with bitterness now that he was older and things had changed. He was grateful to be here with Mariko instead of his family. It distracted him enough to keep his thoughts from going somewhere unpleasant. As familiar as the city was, it already felt different just to have the different company, to be following her down a slightly different route than he’d normally take.
He froze with a gasp as someone crossed their path with a yamper and entered a nearby building.
“Did you see that?” he cooed as he slowly started forward again. “So precious!”
He hesitated by the sign on the building: Collin's Family Daycare.
“Mari.” He looked her in the eye. “Do you think there’s any chance they’d let randoms in just to look at other people’s cute pokemon?”
