The mention of his name gets an ear twitch but that's about it. The rock type simply keeps his gaze forward and avoids the water tragedy on the other side of his trainer.

"Yeah! Louie was my fist pokemon ever. My dad got him for me when I was five. I've been with him since I can remember, really. A steady constant in my life."

Her rock, so to speak... h-ha ha...

a little jigglypuff began to roll on by, causing the teen to softly squeal, watching the puff tumble with a smile on its face. "aw, you're adorable!" elyse grins, pulling a pokeball out from her belt. "hooold on a moment, the jigglypuff is super adorable! i wanna squish it!" and bring it onto stage with her.

"icy wind!" the energetic girl calls out, prompting the primarina to let out a frigid air at the jigglypuff. the puff of pink was caught off guard, long enough for elyse to chuck a pokeball at it to try and claim for her own.

she eventually turns back to francie, smiling at her talk about her lycanroc "it's great that you two are really good friends! what do you do, now? as like, a job?"

Francie's modest about her position, if only because she doesn't much like to brag about who she is or what she does in a boastful manner. Maybe she'll use her authority if it's necessary, but in this instance, she just wants to be Francie. Not Miss Myrtle the gym leader.

Her attention is caught with an azumarill just seconds after Elyse speaks of the jigglypuff. While the girl's getting her puff ball, Francie allows for Louie to make a few moves on the azumarill before capturing the cutie herself.

"What about you? What do you do for a living? Are you just a trainer, or?"

Which judging by Francie's tone, being 'just a trainer' was totally cool.

"a gym leader?!" that was awesome! she's never actually met a gym leader, in the flesh! like she knows some of them are practically celebrities of their own accords, being super strong from what she's heard and testing the strength of other trainers. god, that was a lot of responsibility. responsibility that she wasn't ready to take on.

"that means you're like, super strong, right? like, really strong?" the lycanroc was already strong of his own accord, so she could imagine what she could have under her arsenal. elyse's eyes lit up, with the gleam and beam on her face doing all the expressing she needs for excitement.

now when it came to her? the blonde pridefully puffs out her chest, with a grin on her face.

"i'm an idol, from sinnoh! a singer, technically~"

Before Francie could finish, a rarity was spotted. A fossil of a pokemon in the small pond. Francie couldn't help how her eyes bulged, ignoring the boldore that was a bit off having a nap in the sun with a few bird types pecking away at the small bugs that were on his surface.

"Hold that thought. I need this guy in my line up."

Francie warned, before making her way over to the pond and grinning. She was sure to nod toward the water, but Louie made a face at her.

"Just a few crunches, yeah? And then I can get it!"

Reluctantly, the lycanroc replied, before going fishing. A crunch to weaken it caused the relicanth to dive deeper into the pond. The lycanroc backed up a few steps before seeing where it would surface with the dive. Taking the hit, the lycanroc slid, but chomped his jaws down with another crunch to hold it still.

Francie took that opportunity to throw a ball at the thing, before giving Louie a bunch of pets and recalling him. That was a decent hit, and she'd hate for him to feel like he couldn't rest after daring the water.

another strong display of power from the lycanroc. god damn, the young girl felt like her heart could melt at the sight of it. crunching down on the rock pokemon? there was something satisfying, watching something like that happen. than again, she didn't have that many pokemon that could perform physical feats like that to begin with.

elyse claps her hands with a smile on her face, moreso in admiration after the deed was done. "there are really a lot of rock pokemon along this path!" the idol chimes, only for a little cutiely to hover past her face. her eyes lit up just as quickly, while nudging at her primarina "liiike how there are so many cute fairy pokemon around!"

a snap of her fingers, and the pokemon already knew what the greedy trainer wanted. all it took was another quick slap of icy wind to blow the tiny bug outta place, then for elyse to quickly chuck a pokeball at it to stake her claims.

"anyways, yeah! i'm an idol! singing and stuff, rapping, modelling--" she began to list it off her fingers, only to pause and give a playful wink. "technically, i'm not supposed to be out. but shh, that's a secret, else my manager will kill me!"

"You can count on me, Elyse!"

Then, she drags her fingers over her lips as if to zip them shut, lock them closed, and tossing the key away.

"My lips are sealed."

Though the rhydon that passes through their path isn't unnoticed, Francie's got one already and doesn't need an army... or does she? No, she tells herself she does at she regains her composure from her overly cute display and carries on through the route.

another pokemon came out, and it was actually super, duper cute! it looked so chubby and round, rolling around out into the open! it looked like a smaller version of what francie caught earlier, and she couldn't help but to hold in a squeak and coo at how it waddled when it actually came onto its own two feet.

and she makes quick work of it, too. not like her primarina could do much, and having two large pokemon out on the field at the same time was definitely a problem. "back in ya come, carmen." she smiles, swapping the songstress with a bright yellow toxtricity. one of which strummed the divits on his chest. "overdrive it good!" elyse chimes, and the electric pokemon sends a wave of electricity at the poor little pokemon. when it's down, elyse grins and chucks a pokeball at it.

back to francie, she smiles all the more brightly while clapping her hands together. just to show how delighted she is. "perfect! i'd totally love to come by your gym, too! maybe we can battle sometime! ooh, that'd be really fun!"
