"Oi what the hell?!" Jak exclaimed watching as an apple trashed around his garden, caught in its attempt to nibble at his growing berries. "You're a fruit already, what's deal?"

Jak sent out his trusty castform. First off, the castform performed its rain dance to both water the plants and empower the hydro pump that followed after, blasting water at the little apple whilst making sure to not hit any of his crops.

"Finder's keepers then." He shrugged, throwing a ball at the apple pokemon

By straightening out, he thought it would be nothing more than local patrol. It was to his surprise that they were off to an inhabited island of all places. Jak wore a more tropical set of clothes; a tank top and a pair of khaki cargo pants, wrapped on his waist were a matching khaki jacket just in case he had to deal with bugs.

He went on board in the same ferry as Senon, the very ferry to send them to their week long isolation. "Right on." He said, pumped for the challenge presented to him.

Jak left the ferry and dug his feet under the sandy beach. For what he could see, the island didn't seem to be all too bad. He did bring his pokemon in case of things going south, though as it was a test, it's more than expected for things to go sour one of these days; they had 7 days after all, having not one bad moment for a week would have been nothing short of a miracle.

"I guess I'll set up camp?" He shrugged, looking around the island as he did. He made his way deeper in towards where grass meets sand, leaning against one of many palm trees scattered about the area to take shade. "Is anything fair game here? Can I get help from mons?" He asked, still not quite sure of what rules Senon had for him to follow.

"Both!" He beamed a smile. "More of the former; it would be heartless to just exploit the whole issue so I'm here to help more so." Jak explained. The gastly remained nearby yet still continued with its search, scouting around the immediate area for any sign of the missing star.

"The more the merrier! Fan of the athlete?" He asked. "Me, not so much. I've not seen much of Keik Butossqui's endeavors though after recent research in light of this case, I'd say he's quite the dare devil."

"Let's head towards the river?" His thumb pointed towards the general direction off to the left, off to where the loud splashing of water could be heard. "There's a bike trail on top of the river, I have no idea what for but after some research it's built solely for people like Butossqui; it's the perfect stunt for thrill seekers."

Jak beckoned for Noelani, telling the man to follow him as he headed towards the raging waters of Route 119, shoving aside tall grass on his way.

"No sweat!" He exclaimed as he shifted gears. They came whizzing through much to the rotom's displeasure. It only took them little time to catch up, surprisingly, as the other racers were finally in view once again. "Here they are! We caught up!" Jak pointed as they finally came close to those upfront.

"Looks like Lambo Rarri's closing in- Oh, wait. Fuck me in the ass! Here come's Bad Bax's signature style!" The commentator wailed.

"Bad Bax?" Jak echoed. Sure enough, one of the racers made their move. Out came a weezing on top of the lead racer's car roof which then promptly exhaled a stream of smog. Multiple cars went out of control, veering away from the smog whilst others were unfortunately caught in the purple smoke. "Is he trying to kill us all?" Jak spat as he pounded his fist against the dashboard out of rage.

"Warning! Toxic smog in 5 meters!" The rotom warned.

Jak plucked a ball off of his belt, calling out Beatz, his exploud. The exploud appeared on top of their car's roof, visibly denting the top as the weight of the exploud sure was more than what the car could hold. Beatz balanced himself as Jak drove, at the same time, Jak made sure to drive smoothly with his pokemon up top. The smog was closing in. "Make way!" The ginger yelled.

The exploud released a focused beam of sound waves, releasing boomburst aimed towards the thick purple haze. The attack parted the smog as Jak hoped it would, granting the two undercover reporters a path. As the smog cleared, the two of them came to witness that only four out of ten racers were left; including them. Jak recalled his exploud sped up once more.

DRIFBLIM SWARM (BOVINE BLESSINGS)

The swarm, just in time for the spirit festival, came floating in from one way to the other. The slow flow of these baloon-like pokemon are more akin to paper lanterns than baloons themselves. Speaking of, Jak was there to set up a paper lantern of his own, albeit put on a pause for him to go and try his luck with catching one off of the swarm.

Setting his brush down in the meantime, Jak took a ball out and chucked one up at the drifblims and drifloons that came passing by.

Jak scoured the area with his gastly levitating just a few feet above him for a much higher vantage point. The interview had already been done earlier that day, picking up news of the missing athlete; an athlete famed for their daring stunts and perilous trails. As one would assume, the news went viral overnight.

Route 119 had been notorious for accidents and the like. With strong currents on the river, jagged and uneven paths, as well as the particularly hazardous bike trail often taken by dare devils and thrill seekers; situations like this were bound to often happen.

Jak went on in search for possible clues, perhaps even the missing star athlete himself, both for a good report and the betterment of the case of course. On his left was a handheld video camera, ready to capture any unexpected find. As expected, however, it seemed as though more people came to search. The gastly had let out its usual cry, alerting Jak of someone else's presence. "Hey!" He said as he emerged from the bushes after taking sight of the man. "Jak Preach, Vantage news. Here to help the search?"

"5! 4!..." The rotom possessed the car, not too obvious for onlookers as the car already had an orange colored paint job to begin with. "3! 2!..." Jak held the wheel, bracing for whatever newfound speed the car now had. "1! Go!..." The cars revved up their engines.

Every car went wild, bleching smoke and kicking dirt as they raced through the tracks; well, all but one. "Uhm." A nervous smile formed on Jak's face. "Why are we going sub 40?" Jak asked, peering behind towards the back seat as if the answer was there.

"Kzzzt- Safery is of top most priority!" The car's radio speakers blurted. It was evident that it was, in fact, the rotom speaking. "Remember to keep your seatbelts fastened!"

"Rotom no." Jak groaned, sounding defeated. "We're racing!"

"Sorry! Street racing is strictly prohibited! Fines for infraction are as follows! Illegal racing: 10,000 pd, first offense. Overspeeding: 5,000 pd, first offense. Reckless driving: 7,000 pd and community serv-"

"Okay okay!" The rotom's list of fines were then shortly interrupted by Jak. "Can I go for manual assisted drive?" He asked.

"Sure!" The rotom replied as the dashboard lit up to a display akin to those of arcade racing games, showing a crude map of their route. "Assisted drive, preference changed!" The car swirved for a moment as the automated driving returned to a more manual method, Jak did his best to regain control, and so he did.

Hoping to catch up, Jak stepped on the accelerator as hard as possible. The engines benefited a lot from the rotom, causing the car to move almost twice as fast as it regularly would've, reaching 260kmph from the measly 40kmph the rotom initially drove with.

"Warning! Warning! Overspeeding by: 220kmph"
