Life is a never-ending hunt. Predators cloak themselves in a variety of ways, sharpen their claws and test their limits regularly if only to ensure that their prey will never leave them in the dust.

He revels in the scent of rust, embraces the hungry roars of the pride as they rattle the chains and scream empty names. It's Kanto all over again, down in the dirt and chained by the sick sense of control he gains through destroying his foes. He can almost hear their voices drowning in the white noise, remember how they'd begged for him to spare their families even till their last dying breath.

"Whenever you're ready, Ares." Fingers trace the scars lovingly imprinted on his knuckles, bandages pulling tight as he beckons for the Hydreigon to follow. His gaze follow the edges of the cage, a chilling thought slithering through his veins as he catches sight upon his opponent.

His eyes widen but soon narrow to slits, poison spat upon his breath.

"Archon."

Silence is an enemy to be feared, a creature that allows danger to elude one's senses, paranoia squirming in the back of one's mind as bares its fangs and poises to strike. With silence, the world no longer drowns out one's humanity, no longer suppresses the doubts that linger long after the deeds are completed and sins are etched right into their minds.

It is in silence that he is disturbed, the rustling of his own footsteps serving as the only source of noise that contains his sanity. Idle hands find themselves occupied with the hem of his coat, pushing and tugging at simple fabric as his fingers trace the stitches. Unlike the gnawing warmth of falling bodies and rushing blood, the heat in this environment feels far more chillier, whistling hollow hymns of the season to come as a gentle breeze brushes through the canopy.

Pausing in his tracks, Bael sighs, turning his attention to the skies as a wellspring of words bubble to the surface.

"Can't believe I miss Kanto already."
