danny feels bad about interjecting their moment, and he's just about ready to leave before summer tells casey to stay. he simply looks around, feeling more awkward than he should.

"i'll, uh, catch up with you some other time, man."

he slaps casey on his shoulder, offering a forced smile.

"it was good seeing you."

and then he turns, attempting to leave the pink mist.

his hand slaps a pokeball on his belt, calling out a serperior that slithers ahead.

"catch the thing!"

and so, danny slows down, watching the serperior take off. he turns then to look at how his partner's doing.

thankfully for the both of them, danny looked away, offering them some level of privacy as he felt as though it wasn't in his place to intrude.

could the same be said for them, however? because when he looked back into the mist, his own desires started to form and materialize, though his was nowhere as exciting.

because nothing formed.

not visions of having a family with . not being back in his childhood bedroom playing video games with and until the crack of dawn. not being with his own family. not even his freedom.

nothing.

their voices pulled him back.

"sorry. yeah, a drink would be lovely. you can pick."

he blinked, still distracted as he turned back to casey.

"uhhh, the same old, really. stopped modeling, though. how about you?"

even without gesturing for a drink, the bartender comes with one regardless, perhaps wanting to help a poor man get out of the depths of his feelings. he offers them a bare smile, then reaches for the glass of whiskey.

but before he could sip, a familiar voice catches his attention.

"casey! shit, it's been too long!"

his smile grows a little as he stands, approaching.

but again, before he reached them, the sound of glass shattering pulled him away. he stares at the pink mist, seeing what sees.

by the end of it, he finally arrives, looking confused.

"sorry. i feel like i kinda intruded there..."
