the open bar beckoned, yet all she had ordered was a coffee with lots of cream and sugar. the main foyer was silent at this time of night; insomnia was a bitch. to keep herself level and awake, she downed her coffee expertly. having taken various tomes from the rocket's library, she brought them to the main foyer.

why did she do this? why did she not just go back to the dorm and attempt sleep? simple. Siobhan knew herself well. if she could not sleep, she would not be able to sleep if she forced herself to. so she would read until the morning came, in which she would see if any new jobs jumped into her interest. she would not take just any mission presented; she had no eagerness to prove herself to humans.

jolting out of her reading on the various avatars documented in a light book, she glances up to spot someone approaching. their figure was obscured by the dark of the hall. she glances back down, assuming it was someone on their way to the cafeteria for a late night snack. she was feeling a bit peckish herself...

blurb; a relatively new character, an attempt at starting from scratch from an old member of hoenn. siobhan is an eccentric and studious young woman. her interests lay in collecting dark, fairy, ghost and dragon pokemon with a menagerie of other species that are useful. she prefers pokemon over people, and doesn't seem to care what rocket is doing to anyone. she has no formal ties to it, save for one remiel calcifer who "smuggled" her illegally into hoenn and jayden cross, who is an old "playmate" of hers.

about; growing up, siobhan was one of those people who wanted to be by themselves. she could occupy herself just fine, reading and writing. this caused others to think she was 'weird' and 'unnatural', for what little girl doesn't like to socialize and play? she always had a hard time connecting with people. sneaking into the woods by ballonlea, she would instead befriend the denizens there. they inspired her to seek the unknown, to connect with her own oddities. a single child to a divorced pair, lived with her father until she graduated.

interests; as a folklorist, she seeks to meet and tell the tales of mythical and legendary pokemon. as an aspiring novelist, siobhan writes horror genre stories. she is mostly found alone, wandering around without a care and lost in her own thoughts. she also seems to like painting and drawing, tarot cards, occult magazines and frequenting haunted locations. the bell around her neck is a replica of the clear bell she had received while visiting johto.

something had been there. there was no doubt about it, even as the Wailmer jumped from the water in front of her. a majestic display - and so she would applaud it. the Pokemon looked very pleased with its own effort (and the clapping) before diving back into the depths.

Siobhan would return to hunting down whatever she had thought was in the grass. not that the majestic Wailmer had captivated her - because it did not - yet she had to conserve her Safari Balls best she could. only the greatest Dratini - and other Pokemon - for her. walking carefully deeper into the foliage, she would attempt again.

Poe was the one to arrive first. he flew from the sky above, dropping a Toxel in front of her. already beaten soundly. Lorelai came next, dragging with her nothing - yet that was fine. "excellent job" Siobhan coos to both of them, bending down and then up to pat both her partners. they would also coo in thanks, the affection received well.

she did not play favorites. even if the Corviknight had taken down a suitable piece of prey, t'was important to show equal affection to both. Siobhan slipped out a Pokeball and threw it at the Toxel, attempting to capture it. stepping away from the young Pokemon, she would watch for the sphere to click. just a bit more, and she would have captured her first Pokemon in Hoenn...

she would come in search of dragons. a simple thing, really, when it came down to it all. she heard the Safari housed some rare Pokemon, and Siobhan was not going to miss that. not one bit. her steps led her to the gate, where she forked over a small sum of money to partake in the hunt. already, there was a line. some whispered about seeing Dratini here.

ever one to seek the mysterious, the arcane and the fables she entered. dragons were not as mystical as some, yet she felt a strong draw to them anyway. ghosts were more her forte, yet she could not resist the temptation to have a Dratini for herself. upon evolution, it was a strong candidate for almost any situation. Siobhan walked and walked until she felt she could not walk any more.

that is when she heard a rustling in the brush behind her.

the library in Littleroot was small. it was more or less divided into borrowing books and buying books. split right down the middle. Siobhan supposes since the town is very "quaint" they needed to use what little space they had as effectively as possible.

today she was browsing. though the concept of buying some books was tempting, she would rather borrow. just until she got on her feet. realistically, she could also steal one... but ah, why risk it? she was new to the region. do not make waves until she was certain she could get away with it relatively unscathed.

fortunately, the library slash bookstore also had a small café. Siobhan took her pile of mythology books to a table, sitting down and carefully arranging them in a delicate stack. once she was certain they would not fall over (there had to be about five thick volumes alone!) she would turn sharply. and collide into someone else.

"ah" the young woman exclaims quietly, stepping back immediately. "are you all right?" not like she cared, but whatever. she could try to be social.

another useless beast. she barely glanced its wake when it scurried across the grass and into the open. though large and intimidating, she could stand to be frugal with her Pokeballs. she had limited cash and also limited items.

Siobhan's Pokemon still took their time, yet she knew they could handle themselves. there was little cause for concern. the day grew later and soon she would have to be back in town. as loathsome as it was to admit such a thing - even to herself - she did need to recharge. especially after the trip from Galar.

what smelt? ah, that smelt. the Stunky wandering a few paces away would stop, look at the human alone and bristle in defense. she glanced over the silly little thing, not moving a muscle outside of locking her eyes with the distance. eventually the wild beast would move on.

she had no desire to capture a Stunky. they were a lowly bottom feeder in the grand scheme of things. if she desired respect and admiration in her field, she needed more than a stinky little mite. her own Pokemon did not return yet. Siobhan would wonder if they had found something and were fighting it, or scouring for a suitable trinket for their mistress...

either way, she was quite eager to see what they found.

"how kind of you" she says in reply. goodness, her little act really made him think she was ordinary, no? Siobhan was a bit mundane compared to the older of the Rockets however. she could not argue with that. "I'd rather not spend the night at another motel if I can help it." wait until morning, said all the level-headed travel guides. regarding Hoenn, that logic was thrown out the window. shit would hit the fan regardless of the time of day.

but that is what she liked about the region. Galar had become rather dull lately. "and I would rather not trapeze the woodland at night alone" she adds, her gaze looking back to the open trail after she took him in. nothing remarkable stood out - because time had passed. they had both grown. "I hear it is haunted by Ghost Pokémon" she pauses, glancing back at him with a wry smile "and human spirits." the deaths of many hung on the mind's of Hoenn civilians.

whether she was amused by the locals gossip or controlling any outward fear, she strolled forward without another word. the man and his Umbreon already said they would come with her. no use wasting idle chit-chat, hmm?
