he's trying his best to remain respectful of her wishes, but he just can't not talk about it, especially since their last conversation ended kinda abruptly.

still, he approaches the conversation with caution, edging closer.

a few long minutes of silence isn't that bad nor is it particularly odd, but in uri's case, it's definitely alarming. maybe that's why sol picks up on it. is she asking because she genuinely cares? yes, probably, but why does she care?

"yeah, yeah. i just was thinking about what we talked about yesterday."

"sure, but knowing me, i'd probably want to put ketchup in it."

and like usual, her smile makes him feel warm. he mirrors it in response, nodding in gratitude.

he wants to talk, clearly, but he also knows not to push again.

what's wrong with this? what's wrong with what they have now?

it doesn't take him long to finish his food. after, he simply sits, looking at her not knowing what to say.

vacuuming down his food is probably one of his bad habits, because honestly, he really should slow down to enjoy it a bit more.

and so he does, at least after he grabs another slice for himself.

"i dunno if i can make it as nice as you do, but yes please."

he smiles up at her.

"thanks for cooking, sol."

uri reaches for his fork as well, stabbing into the cake before taking his first bite. he's never been one to shy away from showing his emotions, and this time is no different.

"sol..."

another bite. and another. and another.

he swallows, laughing as his face beams in joy.

"this is amazing."

cut it? he nods, unable to hide his joy at being asked such a simple question.

"yes please."

and as the frittata is placed down, he reaches for the knife, then carefully plunges it down the middle.

"just like cutting cake."

chuckling, he slides out a piece and places it onto her plate, then does the same for himself.

uri nods more enthusiastically than he maybe should've. but who can blame him? it's one of his favorite movies, hands down.

"best christmas movie ever. no competition."

a couple of minutes pass before the frittata's brought over to the table. he looks at it in awe.

"sol...that looks so good."

and there it is again: she was worried. but then again, any good host would've probably done as much not to disturb their guests, so maybe he's overthinking it.

it's for that reason that he decides not to say anything.

"was it die hard? because that's my favorite."

he accepts the mug with a smile, sipping.

"thanks, by the way. it's good coffee."

with all three options presented, he responds with a simple: "yes."

"holy. you did more in a day than i usually do in a week."

usually, because recently he's been doing a lot more than just napping.

"what movie?"

uri's definitely had it before but he just doesn't remember the name of the dish. he'll find out soon enough.

her question is met with a nod.

"coffee would be nice, thanks."

and while she occupies herself with getting them coffee, he asks:

"so, what'd you get up to while i was out?"

oh. dessert with bacon would be a bit weird, but he's not judging. he'll try anything at least once, really, especially when it comes to food.

"well i'm excited."

so much so that he remains standing even after the table's been set up. he watches her, waiting in anticipation.

"i think i might be. i nap with them a lot."

it's just so comfortable to nap with cats. they're so fluffy and warm and cuddly and affectionate and just perfect. damn, he misses it now. maybe he'll have to nap when he gets home later.

"frittata? is that like a dessert?"

either way, he starts setting up the table.

"twenty-five hours?"

he repeats, though it doesn't actually surprise him.

"damn. four more and i would've beaten my record."

oh well. maybe next time.

his smile only grows as he approaches, entering the kitchen.

"can i help with anything?"
