late nights were a prime time for hope and his pantasma, it was in those late night hours that he even met the gengar to begin with. it's also in those late nights where pantasma and hope had their absolute best ideas, most of which usually ended with the pair on the run while laughing mischievously. naturally hope was awake in the middle of the night when what some would call "paranormal activity" started happening. he had been writing a letter to himself when he heard three knocks on the wall right next to him and in reply he simply set his pen down then returned the three knocks before sitting in silence to see if it would happen again.

nothing.

"well that's rude..." hope muttered, picking the pen back up finish writing his letter. ever meet anyone who wrote to themselves? he hasn't either. these letters were supposed to be some form of coping for him, but what he was coping with? he didn't even know. at this point he was just jotting down his crazy ideas of the day that he wasn't able to act out. his deep thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the sound of continuous scratching at his door. this time he set his letter and pen down on his bed as he swiftly stood from his spot and with cautious steps, hope made his way to the door. he stood there for a moment in silence, making sure that the scratches were continuing so he could catch the culprit behind these noises.

"gotcha!" hope yelled as he jerked his door open. behold! there was no one there and that left him bewildered for but a moment. he took a step out of his room and looked to his left then his right, catching no sign of anyone down either hallway. this could only mean one thing. definite paranormal activity! or phantasma got out again— no, impossible, phantasma was safe in her pokeball latched to hope's belt. next there was a loud bang to his right, it sounded like it was just down the hallway and around the corner. at this point hope was extremely invested and determined to discover the source of these mysterious noises.

"phantasma, we're going on an adventure," he stated out loud, patting the ball at his hip.

OBSESSIONS

due to his slightly curious nature, the man is prone to obsessing over objects, pokemon, and even people. those few people who do become his fixation tend to be subjected to a slew of questions as well as hope oh so casually keeping a close eye on them. hope will almost always do anything to help these people out with their goals and desires no matter what it would cost to him or others. this only perpetuates further should his own goals, ideals, and morals align with the one he fixates on. he's had multiple fixations at once but his loyalty is given to the one he finds himself resonating with the best.[break][break]

FRIENDS

with first meetings he can be quite talkative and playful which can lead others to believe he's overall a friendly person - and he is, in some strange way. it's easy for the man to socialize well enough to blend in and get by but he seldom fully trusts others. there are the rare occasions where he does trust a person so much that they become his true friends and these bonds are the handful that he treasures the most. his friends are the people who understand hope on a level where others would question his morals and actions. in return hope understands and trusts his friends even if their actions don't align with his own and he will never hold a grudge against them.[break][break]

ENEMIES

hope is a firm believer that one should keep their enemies close as to know what they are doing, when they are doing it, and why. due to his distrust in many people, he tends to make enemies fairly easy and some even without their knowledge. hope will name someone his enemy if he finds herself questioning their motives, actions, or decisions in any negative manner. they will not see eye to eye in several instances but he is known to be able to approach his enemies with civility. this is all a ruse as he may bite his tongue but he will harbor his negative thoughts until he can vent them in private to his pokemon. LOVER

although hope has some morality issues, he does understand love of his sort to some degree. his lover would have to be someone who understands the way his mind works and someone who can live with the way he is. from his stance, a lover would start out as an obsession which gradually moves into a friendship and then grows to be more. the dynamic between the pair would vary heavily upon how the other half acts and if they have an ability to reason with the curious man.

a rather peculiar man that displays a façade of serenity dusted with a hint of playfulness. upon first meeting he can come off as quite friendly and heavily interested in those he may encounter as he will often ask question after question. he has been deemed curious by nature given the sheer amount of questions he can manage to come up with in a single meeting. this, however, is simply a means to protect himself. behind the kind-hearted questions lies the truth of hope: he severely lacks trust in others. due to the amount of trust issues he holds, hope rarely considers anyone a true friend and only uses the term to put those around him at ease. the man often keeps everyone he meets at a distance - unknown to them, of course. hope has an obsessive nature due to how curious he is and if someone or something is interesting enough, the man will fixate upon it to an unhealthy level. his obsessive nature combined with his skewed view of what is "right" and "wrong" tends to be a recipe for disaster. while he understands certain things are morally wrong, he also questions the reasons behind why certain morals are considered wrong. for as long as he can remember, he's always followed his own moral compass despite how twisted it had become. his loyalty is unquestionable and he is loyal to an extreme fault, however, it is not easy for any one person to claim such loyalty from him. he only gives it to those he deems worthy of it.[break][break]

for reasons unknown, hope is very attracted to power in people. this often varies from being physically powerful to having a powerful and intimidating feel. his attraction, in general, is usually platonic and more of a fascination than anything. when encountering someone who fits this criteria, he will almost always begin to test them in his own way, usually with a series of questions. should he become fixated upon someone with power, he will either do everything in his power to keep that person to himself or he will do everything in his power to help them achieve their goals - sometimes both.
