By no means had he been close enough to ascertain the mannerisms of hers for certain (loathe as he was to admit, his physical sight hadn’t been quite as keen as other sorts— and especially at such a distance), but all in all, he hadn’t quite needed to see such things. The look upon her face had been more than enough for conclusions to be drawn, and at the sight of her backing up against her last companion (a sight for sore and pained eyes, he wouldn’t dare to admit) had been done nothing more than seal the deal, for the most part.[break][break]

He knew what would happen. He knew because he knew her, and whether or not she preferred to recognize as such, he had been well aware of how she would react because it was him. Even as she spoke her part, and even as she sought refuge within the companionship of the megapede by her side, he remained as he was. Unmoving. Unyielding. Hues of viridian existed solely to gaze upon her within those next moments; the sight of them almost burning as he kept his attention upon her then, and even as she made her leave.[break][break]

He stared after her for a while longer.[break]

He eyed her for a little while longer,only sparing a faint glance towards the winged creature by her as it dispersed into the familiar, wisp-like form that all creatures of its kind did upon recall and otherwise. Verdant hues remained locked upon the capsule that it had been taken by before shifting towards the megapede by her, and then soon after, upon her, altogether.[break][break]

”All I’m asking you to do is to prove to me that you’re who you say you are,” he went on. With his hand still enveloping the capsule upon his belt, a brief, pensive silence trailed within his midst before he began to move, once more. Forward. ”It shouldn’t matter if I’m defenseless, nor should it matter that the person in question is me, should it?”[break][break]

He stopped no more than a couple of yards away.[break][break]

”...So do it, whether it be by your or Mukade’s force. I’m waiting.”

There had been a period of silence as he found himself to be the only person within the area, save for the occasional passerby of whatever sort. Once every so often, he’d found himself gazing towards a number of people out horse riding through the area, whether they were locals or tourists. His attention only lingered upon them for a short while before honing itself upon the little dragon afar, once more.[break][break]

He perked up at the sound of a new voice, however. Initially, his head tilted up, and in tandem to the psychic type by his side, he’d brought himself to glance over towards the source of it. Drawing attention towards the larger of the three at first, he found himself gazing towards a second dragon (of whom had been a sudden distraction, he’d noticed, as his own seemed to perk up at the sight of him), and then towards the pink creature by him. He eyed them before glancing towards their trainer, and it was then that he’d pushed himself from the fence post just enough to stand properly.[break][break]

”That would be right, yes.” He crossed his arms, gazing out towards the fields once more for a moment. ”Thankfully enough, it doesn’t seem too hectic. ...May not be as stressful as I’d taken it for, beforehand.”

Politeness was something of an instinct with him in regard to business transactions, and that had been the sole reason that he’d lifted his gaze to meet hers as the words left her mouth. Upon noting her (upon noting the smile that he had grown so loathsome of, knowing the truth behind it), he’d clenched his jaw within an subtly instinctive manner before averting his attention towards the butterfly in reference. He inhaled deeply and sighed.[break][break]

”...We may as well be quick about it, then,” he murmured, his gaze lifting briefly to trace the silhouette of a passing Unfezant against the light of the moon before beginning to walk forward without so much as a second glance. ”There’s plenty of stones and kindling around. ...Set up in the clearing over to the east of here.”[break][break]

His eyes trailed towards the Vivillon.[break]
His lips pressed flatly, and his brows furrowed lightly.[break][break]

He kept walking along. ”...Come on, Hana.”

As the interaction went on, the man kept his eyes upon the Vivillion before him for a while longer; a vague flicker of thought dancing within emerald hues prior to directing his attention towards the first of his companions. He lifted a hand and gently set it upon one of his shoulders, quirking his lip. ”Tamashi, we should be going,” he murmured, lifting his gaze towards the others briefly. ”Don’t bother them any long-...”[break][break]

He trailed off.[break][break]

The silence had been something that creatures of both gold and azure, alike, noticed, and before long, they’d found themselves turning to finally glance towards their trainer, as a result. Upon seeing him, they’d turned their heads more in order to trace his gaze, and as they realized just who he was looking at, they spared one another a brief glance before beginning to trail behind the man.[break][break]

The Kadabra spared the crimson winged insect another look as he severed their link, all while the ashen haired man tilted his head and gazed on towards the other person. He blinked, narrowing his eyes faintly. ”...My apologies, Ma'am,” he started off, taking a few more paces forward despite his earlier advice, ”but have we met before…?”

So that was her response. If he had to be entirely honest, there hadn’t quite been much of an alternative for him to expect, and yet despite that, he stood there for several moments; a verdant glare meeting that of amethyst for a while more. Before long, however, he found himself inhaling deeply, and after giving the three before him a cursory, pensive glance, he closed his eyes and moved a hand over towards another of the capsules on his belt.[break][break]

”...Return.”[break][break]

Though he hadn’t seen the momentary shock upon the aura Pokemon’s face, he could imagine it fairly well, and it had only been when the command in itself drew the creature back into its compartment did he open his eyes again. With a hand on the respective Pokeball (holding it amidst its rustling, lest its inhabitant be forcefully freed), he lifted the remaining while peering towards the woman for yet another time. He gestured to himself, narrowing his eyes.[break][break]

”...If it’s part of the job, then finish it,” he said simply. His brows furrowed lightly, and his fingers curled around the capsule by his flank all the more tightly to keep it in place. ”If it’s so important to the job, and if you’re as much of a monster you’d claimed to be before, then it should be no issue.”[break][break][break]

He hadn’t remembered the last time he’d done something like this.[break][break]

At the very least, the job was easy money at low effort- and it was because of the latter that he’d more or less had the more carefree of his three companions out at the forefront. With his aura specialist resting well within his capsule (because he at least deserved a break from all of the stress he accrued, once every so often), it had been his beloved little Axew that ran around, acting the role of something akin to a farm hound. She ran around every so often, making intimidating noises at select creatures that she deemed suspicious, all while her trainer and his remaining Pokemon watched from afar; the former leaning against one of the many fences surrounding the route and area, and the latter sitting calmly atop the topmost bar.[break][break]

The man pressed his lips together lightly, narrowing his eyes as he watched the little dragon run along.[break]
It was odd to imagine that, in some other multiverse scenario, the situations could be very well reversed.[break][break]

I suppose this is a better change of pace…

More. He wanted to do more. He needed to do more, lest he allow himself the opportunity and leisure to think more deeply about the matter at hand. Level headedness had always been one of his strong suits. It had been something that he’d taken pride in behind closed doors, but this.[break][break]

Follow up. Such had been his intention, to close the distance and try once more, but at the sound of friction against concrete, he found himself glaring towards the side in time to see the megapede rush over. Narrowing his eyes, he thought for but a moment before bounding backwards, intending to put some distance between him and the others. He glanced towards his companions as the frost gathered once more, clicking his tongue quietly as they each rose their arms in defense, bracing themselves and hunching forward just as he had, earlier.[break][break]

During such, he dropped his hand to his belt, quickly unclipping one of the capsules and recalling the Kadabra following a quick Recover while also calling the remaining creature to his side. After giving a quick, advisory suggestion once within common earshot, the Lucario gave a low breath and shook the frost off while preparing another Laser Focus.[break][break]

Asahiko, meanwhile, narrowed his eyes at the other three. Though he relaxed slightly, he clenched his jaw lightly in some means of pensiveness while maintaining vigilance.[break][break]

A response that was equal parts cold to the senses as it had been curt. As if the exasperation that had suddenly taken hold of him sought to bleed out by the faintest amounts, he found himself inhaling deeply; his chest raising within a slow, gradual manner, all prior to parting his lips to allow the air to escape within a suddenly tired breath. Shaking his head, he quirked his lip to himself while directing his gaze back towards the floors and the like beneath them.[break][break]

”I’ve been here for no more than half an hour, I’d wager,” he added with a low murmur, only giving her a cursory glance from the corner of his eye before directing his gaze towards other matters, once more. ”I’ve found more than enough things to make a fire, but I was looking to find other necessities, first, before getting to that.” He hummed idly to himself, narrowing his eyes within an absentminded manner as he surveyed the area. ”Can’t exactly say it’s easy to have a feast or anything of the sort out here, after all.”

The words were lost on him by sole virtue of them being purely unspoken, but nevertheless, the main continued along with verdant voids focused upon his two companions as the distance closed further and further. With the same, apricorn-traced beverage that he’d had from earlier within his other hand, he quirked his lip and lifted the cup to take a sip (and, soon after, giving one to the Axew within his arm as it reached its little hands forward). His gaze briefly lifted towards the other, crimson winged Pokemon as it fluttered over. ”Oi, you two…” he murmured, giving both of them a curious, yet gentle nudge. ”I know you can hear me…”[break][break]

And yet, the Kadabra remained with eyes focused upon the nearing creature, all while the azure-furred creature by his side kept his attention upon the remaining and her trainer. And the other one with you… That is who I think it is, as well?

To say that he was thankful for the trust he’d had between himself and the Pokemon with him would have been an understatement. At the end of the day, he recognized that these two creatures were intelligent forms in themselves; capable of using their instincts and judgment to do certain things without being directed. It was apparent as he rushed in, lunging forth through the remaining distance towards the opposing trainer before long and giving an intended open palm strike towards her. All the while, the commands she’d spoken hadn’t gone unheard, and at so much as a surface registry of the command given to the moth Pokemon in front of him, the Lucario had given both her and her trainer a cursory glare before immediately absconding with an Extreme Speed, just before being affected by the attack directed towards him.[break][break]

His sights had been set on the Beedrill afar, and upon blurring into common vision again, he’d slammed his body into the bicolored creature, promptly rushing it, and simultaneously settling itself between his golden companion and the newcomer rushing him. With a low, growling grunt, he’d taken the blow instead, amidst the interception, that same creature gave his spoon a few more spins within his hands before blasting another Psychic, that time towards the crimson insect, before grimacing lightly and taking a weighted breath.[break][break][break]
