knuckles are still bleeding. her hands shake as she refreshes her wraps, flexes her fingers. remus looks on with a learned solemnity. he raises a paw and then seems to think better of it. no use having parker remind him for the umpteenth time that he can't help heal her until he evolves. 

she's sitting on the curb just outside of the house belonging to the man who's probably still on the floor moaning and nursing a broken nose. most of the blood on her hands is his. 

content with her work, she stands, stretches, and looks towards amulius. the blaziken tilts his head towards her. she's about to gripe, to say she's fucking starving and they've met their quota for the day so they might as well take a break, when her phone rings. 

there's some gritted teeth, seething whispers of "yes, sir," before she's hung up and shoving her phone back into her pocket. barely any cell service here anyway. so she walks the several blocks to the main street and wrenches open the door to the first taxi to land in front of her. 

one more job. one more and she can take a godsdamn shower and order takeout and uh, what the hell?

"hey, buddy, you mind?" she says, one brow raised at the guy on the other side of the cab, door open to mirror her own.
