What the hell was Jacob thinking when he decided to cut down the Jagged Pass, rather than go down the cable car like a sane person? As the Unovan Rocket navigated the dangerous area slowly, he would notice a woman from a distance, also attempting to navigate the dangerous path before them. But what really got the attention of the redhead was the fact that she had a kid with her.

Approaching the woman slowly, Jacob got in closer. As he got closer, it dawned on him that the woman looked familiar. Still approaching, Jacob would finally speak up to the moment. "Excuse me, ma'am, but what are you doing down here with a child? Don't you know how dangerous this area is?", he would ask her sincerely. If she were to turn to face him, his look of concern would turn to one of complete shock.

Born in Virbank City to a set of lower class parents. Despite their financial hardship, his parents did their best to give him a happy childhood, and to set him down a law abiding path. Despite not being too bright, and generally not interested in academic pursuits, Jacob's school years were happy, if uneventful. During this time, he would discover his love for Dark-type Pokemon.
At age 14, he set off into the world, earning money from odd jobs and the occasional battle to sustain himself on his travels. Though he wasn't too good at battles, losing more often than winning, and therefore relying more on the occasional temporary job for income, he had fun battling.
At age 16, he met a girl named Rowan Blaire. Managing to get past her walls, the two of them started dating. Despite his lack of finances, he did his best to make Rowan feel like a queen. After two years of dating, Rowan would give birth to his daughter, Lilly. Despite their young age, Jacob was elated to be a father.
Having nothing to give to his woman and child finanically, and with a desire to provide for the two most important people in his life by any means necessary, Jacob would end up falling in with Team Rocket in the Kanto Region. Signing up for the financial security involved, despite everything they had done, Jacob hoped to be able to use the proceeds of his actions under Rocket to provide for his new, young family.
At this point, his personal relationships imploded. His parents, knowing of the atrocities committed by Rocket in the Kanto Region, disowned their son for joining up with them. An affair he had with another Rocket grunt was discovered by Rowan, causing her to sever ties with him, taking their child with them. After this incident, he called off the affair, and hasn't found anyone since.
Knowing that Team Rocket would hunt him down and slowly kill him for leaving them, and being surrounded by various sadists, Jacob feels trapped within the organization. Without anyone to provide for, Jacob only continues to serve Rocket to survive. The one thing keeping Jacob going at this point is the desire to reunite with Rowan and Lillie. Though he has no faith in being able to reconnect with her, he wants to at least see her one last time, and tell her he's sorry for what happened.
