"I may disagree with your therapist a bit there," Zain said, though he paused as the instructor came around to teach them about the saddle.[break][break]

It turned out, getting on top of a giant MUDSDALE required a stool. But once he was one, he felt comfortable in the seat. He gave the horse a few stroke across her mane, cooing a few words of praise.[break][break]

"Having several activities for your mental health is a great thing if its the right thing for you to do. I always encourage people to branch out if they're having a hard time. However," he said with a pause.[break][break]

Zain pushed his heels in the steed's side, indicating she could begin to walk. Luckily, he and Paxton were able to keep conversation.[break][break]

"If you can find your activity that helps you, that's great. You don't have to spend a ton of money trying others things if you know what works for you. Don't tell your therapist I said that. I don't want to be beaten up," he said with a laugh.

Zain only moved on when sven korolev made it known that he was okay. He breathed a sigh of relief, carrying on the conversation almost as if nothing happened.[break][break]

"Oh, absolutely. They know, and they hated it. They don't think that it's a practical field or that it's medicine. Of course, I don't prescribe medicine, so I get where they see that point," he said with a laugh.[break][break]

His attention momentarily focused on the GALLADE standing at attention nearby, using his Pokemon to send a PSYBEAM to attack. His Poke ball was thrown while it was distracted.[break][break]

"However, therapy is medicine. That's my belief. I believe that if you don't let out your emotions, you'll be ruined by them. And there's fact to it too," he said solemnly.[break][break]

The truth of the matter was Zain had seen it too many times. Too many patients, ready to give up, on their last string, coming to him. And he could've perhaps helped them get better sooner.

While Chu-e Choi seemed to play this like a game, Zain didn't let them phase him. Instead, he merely raised an eyebrow, leaning back in his seat as he regarded the former-Rocket in front of him.[break][break]

"Darling is rather personal, don't you think? Why don't we get to know each other first?"[break][break]

His voice oozed a soft and gentle tone, though he had to restrain himself from laughing at the other's remark. Zain's hand jotted on his clipboard, shaking his head as he hummed.[break][break]

"Unfortunately, that breaks many rules, and that sounds like quite a lot of paperwork to handle. You'll have to abstain from that," he said, hiding his amused smirk.[break][break]

"Instead, I'd like to get to know you. Tell me about yourself."

"You say it's no big deal. But it's a big deal to those who live here," Zain remarked with raised brows.[break][break]

He laughed at himself. Paxton was right. Why recommend a therapy that you'd never done yourself? So, as they were told to pet the horses in front of them, he did so while carrying on the conversation. The MUDSDALE in front of him was towering and huge, but its personality seemed quiet and soft.[break][break]

"I always think it's good to get out and try new things. Staying cooped inside too long makes you think. And overthinking came trap you," he commented passively.[break][break]

It was something he dealt with a lot.[break][break]

Zain lifted his fingers, smiling to the bartender as his drink was brought forward. As he lifted it to his lips, he heard a voice from his side. He savored his beverage for a moment before turning his head to the side to see who's pleasant voice caught his attention.[break][break]

Striking blue eyes. Black hair. It was a stark contrast, but it was entrancing nonetheless.[break][break]

A small grin pulled on his lips as he took another sip of his drink, setting it back on the countertop. "Put it on my tab," he requested to the bartender, this time turning fully to face the individual in front of him.[break][break]

"Allow me to pay for a drink?"

Luckily for Zain, though perhaps unluckily for GIDEON GRAVES, the door was opened. He could've burst into laughter when he saw the sleepy face of his college roommate. Though sleep was far from the first thought on his mind when he saw him.[break][break]

"Oh, does Gideon have a girl over? Guy? Someone? Did I interrupt?"[break][break]

His persistent questioning would be cut off by his friend offering his arm to let him inside. He gratefully took it, wobbling inside of the apartment. Once he was able to, he broke away, going to crash down on his couch.[break][break]

"Man. What's up, buddy? You been doing anything important lately?" Zain cooed.

"Well, I guess you could say I was always just interested in how the mind worked. I like to see how people think. My parents are both doctors, and they expected me to do the same. Little did they know... I chose a different path."

"I see. So almost nothing related to horses or horseback riding. That begs me to ask, and you don't have to answer... why are you here?"[break][break]

Though as Paxton revealed what exactly he did for work, Zain could see the stressful nature that job could have. He couldn't imagine doing something related to it. "Wow. A big props to you, and thank you for what you do for keeping Hoenn safe. I'm sure it isn't easy."[break][break]

He chuckled, almost sheepishly. "I'm a psychologist. I work at Abra-Kadabra Counseling in Slateport. Therapy, counseling, you name it. That's my specialty."[break][break]

Zain looked around at the horses in the stall, some snorting and some neighing. "I recommend activities like these to patients sometimes. I figured I may try it out for myself."

It was a bit surprising to have a client reach out and ask him to meet him out on the routes between cities. Typically, if someone paying for Zain's services wanted to speak to him outside of the clinic, they'd schedule a time to meet somewhere nearby his office, in case things needed to become more private. A coffee shop, a casual restaurant... it seemed sven korolev was definitely a unique first.[break][break]

Not that he minded at all. After he had read the message, he laughed, responding that he would be more than happy to meet up with him. It was an off day any way, which meant he didn't have anything scheduled. Casual outings often gave him more insight to how someone truly behaved as well.[break][break]

"It's always good to keep your head up. Don't let a no get you down. There's hills and valleys in life. You'll pull through," Zain encouraged as he waved to him.[break][break]

"Though I'm pleased that you're putting yourself out there. Anywhere in particular you've applied that's been an interest to you so far?"[break][break]

Sven flipped the script to Zain. He was often asked in polite pleasantries how he was, but he never was asked quite about his life. One of his eyebrows lifted, though he chuckled in response.[break][break]

"You don't have to address me like that if we're here casually. Zain's perfectly fine. As far as work goes, I'd say things have been pretty smooth going as of late. Nothing I think I can complain about. However, what do you want to know about me?"

There was an air of awkwardness that hung between them. Zain's brow furrowed for a moment as he regarded the man, wondering if he'd struck some sort of cord or if he wanted to be left alone. After all, not everybody wanted to talk to just anyone.[break][break]

Zain was contemplating moving to give him some privacy and clear the air, but an introduction formed. He was taken aback for a brief moment before a smile crossed his lips.[break][break]

"Nice to meet you, Paxton. Zain Osman." He extended his hand, shaking it firmly.[break][break]

"What do you do, Paxton? Anything related to horses or horseback riding?" He chuckled, his question more teasing than an actual inquiry.

The "no" doesn't come as quite the surprise to Zain. Many individuals were hesitant the first time they met their counselor. In Chu-e's case, he could imagine that this was rather unsettling, with so many people around and whispering gossip about them.[break][break]

It was a pity, really. Regardless, even though Zain's mouth opened to let them know they had all the time in the world, they still stood and appeared to be ready enough to want to follow him into his office.[break][break]

"We can take as long as you want. Follow me." Apep held their gaze before turning and following her master. She stood guard by the door, silent and completely poised.[break][break]

"You may do whatever makes you comfortable. Everything here is for your own use. Feel free to move about or settle how you'd like," Zain offered as he shut the door to provide the two of them privacy.[break][break]

"As I stated before, I am Zain Osman. You may call me Zain. I would prefer to keep things amicable if that's alright. No need for stuffy titles or pleasantries," he said with a smile. "All of this will be at your own pace. You can tell me as little or as much as you want, and all of your information is held with the utmost security."[break][break]

Sitting back in his chair, he tapped his fingers on his clipboard. "I'll write occasionally to make note of things to keep track of. Concerns or goals we can set for the future, should you want this to continue. Now, how would you like me to address you?"

It was a nice Saturday morning. It wasn't too hot outside, the sun was shining, and everything seemed perfect. And Zain hoped it stayed that way for the sake of his own happiness because if the weather changed and he got rained on, there would be absolute hell to pay.[break][break]

Many of his clients had come back to him and told him that the activities he'd recommended for destressing were very helpful. Activities such as pottery, painting, horseback riding... they seemed mundane in life, but it allowed them to rest their minds and not think about the things driving their minds to a breaking point.[break][break]

So, Zain decided that if he was recommending these classes and activities, shouldn't he at least attend one or two to ensure that it was therapeutic? After all, he always wanted to better his practice for his patients.[break][break]

He found himself in Oldale, on a ranch where different horses were grazing about. Waving to the presumed instructor, he waited in the shade with the water that was provided.[break][break]

Though he was... oddly noticeably one of the only men there. Aside from another blonde that he spotted not too far away, he felt a stark contrast between the other attendees.[break][break]

"Hey. You here to decompress?" Zain asked with a small wave.

With the office locked up and his things put away, Zain Osman said goodbye to his coworkers for the weekend. He made sure that none of his notes were easily accessible and that his calming essential oils were put away nice and tidily to be found with ease the Monday he returned.[break][break]

Since work was over, he decided that home wasn't the option. On a normal night, he'd be more likely to opt for home cooking and his bed after a few episodes of drag racing. But weekends were for the wicked, right?[break][break]

Zain headed to Verdanturf, wondering what sort of bars they had to suit his fancy. One with exotic dancers and promises of memories that would never go away caught his eye. A little fun wouldn't hurt.[break][break]

Entering inside past the security check, Zain found himself at the bar, the music playing loudly around him. "Gin and tonic. And don't be shy about it," he said with a wink to the bartender, loosening the tie around his neck.

After a day's work, Zain Osman found himself in the bars of the lower district, a short distance from his office in upper district, Slateport. There, he laughed and sang with the masses, laughing endlessly as drink after drink was tipped down his throat.[break][break]

Thank Arceus it was Friday. He could only imagine the hangover he'd have the next day, not to mention how it would effect him at world.[break][break]

However, as their drinking endeavor came to a close, Zain found himself particularly lonesome. He didn't have a partner for the night, which meant he had one of two options to pick from. He could either go home.[break][break]

Or his ABRA could take him somewhere else. That sounded like an even better idea to him.[break][break]

"Alright! Let's go to GIDEON GRAVES's and pay him a visit." With a quick swoosh, Zain and the ABRA disappeared from the bar, only to show up at the door of Gideon's apartment.[break][break]

Catching his balance, Zain went up to the door, banging on it rather loudly. "Gideon! Hey! Open up!" he said rather loudly, his voice vibrating as he practically sang for his former roommate to let him in.
