Mona chuckles lightly at the joke before shaking her head. She wouldn't be partaking in any sweet treats. It wasn't needed after all, she had thoroughly prepared for the heat prior to meeting up with her contact. She pondered his suggestion for a moment before agreeing. "I don't mind a little walk." came her raspy voice. [break][break]

He wanted her to start despite the fact that they had reached out to her first, interesting. Either way, it wasn't like she hadn't come prepared. As the slid off the perch they were currently sitting on and she began to make her way across the beach sands she waited until a few people were a little further away from them before starting. [break][break]

"I'm sure you know my work so I won't go through the trouble of giving you my resume." She said with a light tone. It almost sounded as if she was smiling behind her mask. "I'm skilled at what I do. I work fast and deliver results even faster. I've worked building on building my brand to a point that when I speak my targets are forced to listen." she continued before a soft sigh could be heard. "But there are still some things that even I can't do on my own."[break][break]

She turned towards Neon as her pace slowed. "The Galarian Monarchy. I want it completely eradicated." Her tone and gaze were strong and serious. "I need someone bigger than me to make that happen. In return for such a heavy task I'm willing to pay a heavy price. You can have me and everything I have. For life." It sounded reckless but Mona had thought long and hard about what she had to offer to Rocket and it really just was herself.

Once Cedric began to loosen up and laughter spilled from his lips Guinevere smiled. "There he is, my Ricky." She just wasn't used to the stiff mannerisms of royals, not anymore. She had long removed herself from her royal duties and sought refuge somewhere else. Someplace more accepting of her and her defects...even if those defects were beyond her control. [break][break]

Cedric apologized and Gwyn waved it off. He explained himself but he didn't need to. She knew better than anyone the kind of business Cedric was into. Unlike her dear cousin, she had managed to escape from it all. She could only hope one day he would realize and secure his own freedom too. [break][break]

The path they were on was getting steeper and steeper and more winding. Once Cedric had secured proper footing he extended a hand towards Gywn, but this time it didn't feel like a stuffy formality. She flashed him a cheesy grin as she took his hand and was securely guided along the path. It was much appreciated, after all platform chunky heels didn't make for the most ideal hiking shoes but Gwyn always put fashion over function. [break][break]

Besides, you'd be surprised all the things she could do in heels.[break][break]

"Things have... Well, they're different," Cedric attempted to respond to Gwyn's own inquires on his wellbeing. Gwyn flashed him a curious look before movement along the brush caught her attention. A small impidimp seemed eager to play with his new guests and Gwyn was more than happy to oblige. With a snap of her fingers her Mimikyu appeared and swiftly set out to 'play' with his new 'friend'.[break][break]

Cedric removed the glove on his left hand before showing her a ring that adorned his ring finger. Gwyn did a double-take so fast she almost gave herself whiplash. "Holy shit! Wait! Huh?! When? How? Where? Why?!" she said as she practically yanked her cousin's hand to examine the ring more closely as she stared at it in disbelief.[break][break]

"Her name is Estelle Valentine. Other than her cooperation under the Queen and Galar's military, there's... Not much I truly know about her." Gwyn scrunched her face up at him. "Such poppycock," she grumbled. "Another one of auntie's schemes no doubt." Gwyn said with blatant disrespect towards her aunt and the current Queen of Galar. "She never could be satisfied with ruining her own life y'know." Gwyn responded with a huff, "She just had to make everyone else as miserable as her." Gwyn violently kicked another rock out of their path. [break][break]

"Ricky. You know you don't have to listen to her right?" Gwyn finally said after a few moments of silence. Her tone was lower, more serious. "No matter how much power and obligation she waves in your face, she has no control over who marries and who doesn't." Gwyn's brows creased as clear fury washed over her. "You are not the Crown Prince." It was high time the Queen got of that high horse and stopped trying to micromanage everyone else in their family like they were.

Mona had been in the area for a while now. She was just waiting for a response from the person she was supposed to meet. This, 'neon' person. She could understand though, using an alias, she was too. She'd been surprised to have Rocket reach out to her. Especially with it being a branch located in another region. [break][break]

She'd had her hands full lately with stirring up the populace and punishing corrupt people in charge, but it wasn't satisfying. Then again she doubted anything would be until she dismantled the Galarian monarchy with her own bare hands. Lofty goals, but not ones she could do on her own. [break][break]

Which is why this recruitment came at a most opportune time, for her at least. Her phone buzzed with the message from the one she was supposed to be meeting. Mona would've preferred a digital meeting but she could understand the desire to meet in person, so here she was. For the first time, donning what would be 'the monarch's' appearance. "behind you," she spoke, her voice trilling out softly in a raspy and mechanical sort of way as she took a seat beside her contact.

Guinevere was the last to arrive from the group. Normally she'd be on time but today she had plenty to get ready before taking a deep dive into the rifts. Currently disguised as ' The Monarch^tm ' it was only right that she do her research before showing up. The briefing they had received was too barebones. Honestly, it could hardly be called a briefing of anything.[break][break]

Luckily for her, Rocket had reports from other agents that went into these rifts in their database so it was easy pickings for Gwyn after that. She continued to surf the database all night and ended up slightly oversleeping past her alarm. Luckily for her, her ever responsible butler, Chai the Sinistea, was reliable and woke her up in time.[break][break]

Once she had gathered her bearings and adjusted to the sights before her, she made her way towards the meeting place. As expected, she was the last to arrive. Three other women were there and seemed to be discussing something, but as she drew near she began to pick up on some things that made her quickly uncomfortable. [break][break]

For starters one of the women looked as if she was ready to burst into tears, while another swiftly brushed her aside and admonished her. Perhaps they knew each other, but bickering at the start wasn't a good sign for this mission. And if they couldn't keep their emotions in check it would spell failure for them all. [break][break]

The Monarch didn't do failures.[break][break]

Still, all hope wasn't lost. Some introduced themselves and Gwyn decided to do the same. "You can call me Monarch." a raspy voice with a mechanical twang responded before she took out her Rotom phone. As expected there was no service here, but she didn't need service for what she was pulling up. On her phone she had all the notes she had taken from all the information she surfed through the night prior. "According to some reports from other's that have ventured into this realm, a good way to reach the seals would be via the gimmighoul ferryman, so I suggest keeping your eyes peeled for that."[break][break]

With that, Gwyn was off on her own, not waiting for permission to begin her search from the other's. If they managed to split up their search would be quicker, as long as they didn't stray too far from one another. Because of the information she'd consumed Gwyn knew it would be faster to look on her on than wait for someone else, so it wasn't a surprise when she was the one that found the ferryman first. [break][break]

After alerting the girls that she'd found their target she reached in her bag for the golden coins she'd prepared as service fare for the ferryman. She quickly paid for all of them to board before nodding to the boat. "This is us. Should take us right where we need to go." was all she said before she boarded the boat herself, expecting the other women to follow suit.

Gwyn's honeyed hues shifted over towards her stiff cousin as she flashed him a questionable glance. The invitation he was referring to was to take a stroll around in the woods. It sounds suspicious at first but Gwyn didn't really mind, it would give her a lay of the land. Besides, there was absolutely nothing suspicious about her dear, rigid, stubborn to a fault, cousin. If anything she was the suspicious one. But he didn't need to know that. [break][break]

"You seem much more at ease since you left home. Have you kept in contact with your parents?" he inquired. Gwyn's lips shifted as she pursed them, deep in thought. She supposed he had a point. She was certainly happier to be away from Galar. Especially considering the danger they had all been in due to Necrozma. Before Gwyn could properly answer Cedric continued, "Please don't think of this as small talk, or that I mean to pry for gossip, I simply wish to catch up."[break][break]

Once more before she could properly answer she felt Cedric's gaze as he barraged her with more questions. "More importantly, how have you been? I suppose that should have been the question I asked first, but I don't want to come off as patronizing." Gwyn shook her head, a soft chuckle escaping her lips. "Ricky, relax." She said to him as she extended her hand placed it on his arm. "You don't have to be so stiff with me. I mean, I know it's been a while but I'm still the same 'ol me." she said with a laugh. [break][break]

"And one thing at a time, ye?" she said with a tease in response to the million questions he asked her. "I'm doing good. I feel more relaxed with some distance between me and Galar. I mean, I still have eyes on me but I think the pressure is a bit different here than back home." She said as she kicked a pebble that was in the road. "I just don't think I ever would've truly felt at peace back there." she said as she glanced up at the sky. "And mum and dad are doing fine. Still bothering me every night as they call to check up on me." she said with a short laugh.[break][break]

"What about you? What has your knickers in a twist?" she asked with an amused grin on her face. "I mean, you should've heard yourself when speaking to me earlier." she says as she clears her throat. "Thank you for accepting my humble invitation, m'lady." Gwyn gently mocks him with her own impression of him. She deepens her voice and gives a grandiose bow before taking his hand in hers and placing her lips to the back of his hand. A gesture routinely used in court back home. Gwyn erupted into laughter as she brought herself back up to her full height.[break][break]

"I mean, I could practically hear the 'your highness' itching in the back of your throat, Ricky!"

“Hello Gwynnie, it’s so good to see you again.” Gwyn hadn't heard that nickname in years. It reminded her of the few happy moments she had during her childhood. So much so that it caused the faintest and briefest of smirks on Guinevere's lips. At the mention of their older cousin and crown prince of Galar though, the smirk swiftly faded. [break][break]

Remiel Calcifet. The reason she was in Hoenn in the first place, not that she would tell her cousin that. Apparently the shinning prince who could do no wrong, had gotten his hands plenty dirty without anyone looking. Who knew the 'golden' child would take such a major fall from grace. If Gwyn had been a comedian this would've been peak comedic material, but she wasn't.[break][break]

If anything, it made her dislike the crown prince even more. He was born with everything and decided to throw it all away. She didn't desire what he had, but to see someone squander the blessing they had been given felt like a spit right in the face. On top of how he abandoned her despite knowing how much she needed him, it was no wonder Guinevere had grown to hate her cousin. [break][break]

"I'm sure the Galarians from all over appreciate your hard work." Gwyn responded, quickly pushing such troublesome thoughts from her mind. She smiled but it didn't quite reach her eyes. "I'm also sure they wouldn't want you to overwork yourself. Be sure to take breaks okay? You can't serve the people if you work yourself to death."[break][break]

Her honeyed words were practiced and came across as sincere. But in reality, Gwyn hardly gave a damn about her own people as well. She wasn't so bitter that she believed everyone was out to get her, but plenty of her own countrymen had spat on her name and joined in bashing and jeering at her even though she had done nothing to deserve that. [break][break]

Elise's butler, Chamomile, the Polteageist, greets her with the tip of it's lid. Wanting to greet them as well, Chai, Gwyn's butler and Sinistea, appears with a tip in greeting as well. Meanwhile, Elise had gotten up from her seat and headed over towards the door, opening it up for her. “Well then, shall we go? I imagine you must be feeling hungry.”[break][break]

Guinevere closed her parasol and handed it off to one of her men, in exchange they handed her a black fan with black laced trim. "Starving, actually." She said with a nod before pausing to turn to her men. "You guys can eat too. I'll pay, just get a table away from us. I want some alone time with my family." They nodded that they understood and Gwyn swiftly followed behind her younger cousin.[break][break]

"So!" Gwyn exclaimed as they took their seats by the window in the booth they were assigned by the waitress. "Other than working yourself to the bone, what have you been up to all this time?" she asked with a flick of her wrist to open the fan and begin to gently fan herself. After all, Hoenn was dreadfully hot this summer, something she wasn't quite used to, and neither was her sensitive skin.

With that, the battle was decided. Gwyn didn't interfere when his Aegislash dove in at lightning speeds to save it's trainer. In fact, she stepped back, allowing the pair to retreat out of the smoke and hopefully far away from her little escapades. And not a moment too soon either. [break][break]

As soon as the two were out of her sight her comms buzzed alive and some grunts let her know that they finished securing the new smuggling route and would be meeting up with her soon. "Took you long enough." Gwyn huffed as she clapped her gloved hands together to gather the attention of all the pokémon she brought with her. [break][break]

"Alright kiddos, you've had your fun. Let's pack it up and get moving." she ordered before she caught movement of a wheezing still trying to play with some of the other pokémon. "Don't make me repeat myself." she growled and they all immediately began to gather. And let the gas dissipate. [break][break]

"Good work Nyx" she purred to her Misdreavus without even turning around to see if she was there. She just sensed her and knew her well enough by now. The little snicker close to her ear alerted Gwyn to where she was as she lifted a gloved hand to pet her little ghost friend. "Let's head home and get something good to eat, hmm?"

He was still sticking around. The hell was wrong with this guy? It didn't give off the vibe that he was a ranger or anything so what was this guys deal? Then again, she was the one that was attacking him. "I warned you." hissed. Gwyn made her Skuntank tank the hit from the Aegislash. Having already taken damage it was expected that he would faint. [break][break]

A Nidoran that she borrowed from Rocket was swift to take his place. A POISON STING aimed right for the Aegislash, meanwhile she lundges for the man himself. She might be a hacker but she was no bitch. She had been trained in hand to hand combat, often sparring with her cousin, @cedric when they were younger. She slammed her fist hard into his gut while her Misdreavus fired a CONFUSE RAY to backup the Nidoran fighting the Aegislash.[break][break]

Knocking the wind out of her target wasn't a tricky task. The next issue was the amount of poison gas he was inhaling. While it wasn't lethal right away, inhaling copious amounts would result in side effects or symptoms similar to what one might experience from Monkshood or Wolfsbane poisoning. [break][break]

"Go home. You don't belong here." she whispered in his ear as she propped him up as he was doubled over in pain. She wasn't trying to kill someone today, this wasn't that type of mission. But this man was ill equipped to handle her today. If anyone else from Rocket were to appear then he'd be in trouble. She was practically doing him a favor by being so harsh in trying to kick him out of the forest.

[attr="class","soda2"]Hey howdi hey Oslo! We chatted briefly in call yesterday but here I am ~~for my endeavor~~ again. Based on what you were telling me about Belial I think he and Gwyn have a lot in common. He has a strained relationship with his family and so does she. As you know, Gwyn suffered a lot at the hands of the royal family, her family, due to rumors and prejudices regarding her origin of birth.

It's left her with some scars that have clearly yet to heal. To the point that she wishes her family to hurt the way they made her hurt. To take away the thing that's most precious to them as revenge. As a way to cope, Gwyn has taken to acting out, drawing attention to herself and utilizing that press to her advantage with her social media and profession. I'm sure they can bond over their shitty little families. And beyond that, as a certified 'bad girl' it makes sense she'd be attracted to a 'bad boy' too.

I think it would be interesting to see what kind of chaos they could cause together but beyond that, I think he could be one of the first people to learn the truth (that she's the Monarch and sided with Rocket) if they get along well. I'm just spit-ballin' here so lemme know what you think!

Her rented Skuntank ate the SACRED SWORDS with a sharp yelp. Cold azure eyes shifted over towards the skunk. She found herself more apathetic towards pokémon that weren't here own. If it wasn't competent enough it would be replaced. After all it was just fodder for her anyway. With an audible sigh she turned her attention back on the stranger. [break][break]

"Last warning." She said with a dangerous glint in her eyes. "You look a little lost. A long way from home. I suggest you leave. Before I get mean." A sharp gaze shifted towards the skunk once again. "Atticus, pull yourself together." The skunk pulled itself to it's feet. Realizing quickly that it wouldn't be getting an easy way out of this. [break][break]

With a huff the Skuntank launched a NIGHT SLASH at the man who remained in Gwyn's presence despite the warning. Gwyn herself flicked her Onyx colored hair over her shoulder before a glint appeared in the gas. The doublades that had been hit with poison earlier were the prefect target for her Misdreavus. Still within the smokescreen covering her personal pokémon fired a HEX at the unsuspecting pokémon.

Gwyn had been too relaxed. There wasn't much to worry about. She just needed to cause a scene long enough that she would attract the attention of rangers or other League personnel so Rocket could secure this new smuggling route. Meanwhile she had to say she was doing a good job. [break][break]

The mask she had served to block the poisonous fumes for her, in addition to hiding her face and identity with it's voice modulation features. However, while she had been relaxing someone had managed to sneak up on her without her noticing. A rookie mistake if she was being honest.

"Hey, are you 'kay?!" Gwyn's soul nearly leapt from her body as she quickly jumped to her feet and whipped around. "Who the fuck are you?!" a raspy mechanical smokey voice growled. "I can help get ya 'ut and we can get 'ze Rangers. Are you by yourself?" Gwyn's eyes slowly narrowed as she quickly put the pieces together. "I see." she said as she reached for a pokeball on her hip.[break][break]

"Then I'll have to ask you to leave." she said as she released her pokeball into the mist. "The babies here are playing and they don't like being disturbed." she said. Just as the words left her lips her a fellow 'rental', Skuntank from Rocket appeared and offered assistance. It launched a frontal assault with POISON JAB. If it landed it's ability STENCH would cause the strangers doublade to flinch. Meanwhile, Gwyn's Misdreavus that had went into hiding within the gas earlier, fired a PSYBEAM at the strangers back.
