It hurt Claudia to learn that the other staff members, whether they be the medical team or detective force, weren't treating their patient with basic common courtesy. This was a mental hospital, so of course oddities were expected, but cases like Judicael's were a bit more rare. Even still, that didn't mean that he deserved to be treated less than a person. [break][break]

He wasn't a beast or an animal he was a person. And while Claudia herself might be interested in his case and for research and knowledge purposes, she was still committed to the oath she swore when she became a doctor. She'd treat him and get him back on her feet again. It was a shame other's didn't morally feel the same. [break][break]

"It's a shame that chief security officer doesn't see it that way. He made some rather... Crass comments when he was throwing me into solitary confinement my first week. He probably figured he could say those things to me because you'd never believe me if I told you."[break][break]

For a moment it felt like Judicael could read her mind, as his words echoed her thoughts. But at the mention of the chief of police Claudia's face soured ever so slightly. Her grip on her pen tightened to the point her knuckles paled. "Well, he would be sorely mistaken if that was the case." [break][break]

Claudia had trusted that he would have a least a crumb of decency left in him not to cross work with pleasure. Sure, their first meeting with Judicael hadn't gone as plan, and Judicael was quite forward with his flattery towards her, but she and the chief weren't in a romantic entanglement. [break][break]

No matter how much he wanted it to be so, it had been decided that they wouldn't be able to work. Taking it out on her patient when she wasn't looking was beyond low. She hadn't expected him to stoop so low, but now that it was mentioned, she was afraid to say she wouldn't put such an act past him. [break][break]

Claudia straightened her clothes before turning her gaze towards Judicael, a heavy sigh escaping her lips. "I'd like to first apologize on his behalf, and the behalf of any other staff members that have been treating you unjustly. You shouldn't have to endure such treatment." The discomfort was clearly written on her face. [break][break]

One could tell that the doctor cared about this subject deeply. "I'll have a proper talk with them all so that this unfortunate situation won't repeat itself. You can trust me." It was true, she meant every word. "As for the chief..." a scowl darkened her features, "If you feel uncomfortable with his presence I can request a new officer to cover his position." After all, that was well within her authority to do as Judicael's leading doctor.

Claudia had been prepared for his answer as her pen began to dance across the paper with observations. Judicael's entire demeanor had shifted at the mention of his past. For the first time since she'd engaged with him she made note of clear displeasure on his features. "People keep insisting that I'm someone that I am not," he replied, expression hurt. "I don't know who Josef Gordienko is and why people insist he is me. Space-time was unkind to him, his body couldn't survive it."[break][break]

Claudia nodded as she continued to jot down her notes. This was all already within the realm of her understanding. After all, Judicael had already been questioned prior to her engagement. But there were certain things that Claudia would need to get on record that required her to ask the same things once more. [break][break]

Gauging by his hurt expression it would seem he believed she didn't believe him. She would need to rectify that if she was going to properly earn his trust. Her pen paused as she glanced up at him. "I believe you, Judicael. It's just protocol that I ask these things again, I hope you understand."[break][break]

But it would seem like Judicael wasn't really listening to her anymore. He seemed more tense and strained in his restraints than how he had been moments prior. He'd been so relaxed before, what had changed? His muscles flared as he fought against the restraints causing Claudia to put her pen down. "Judicael?" she called out to him. But he wasn't registering her voice right now. [break][break]

This reaction could get bad, she needed to do something. "Judicael, listen to me. You need to relax--" she called out to him with more urgency before he snapped at her. "I saw God. And He's abandoned us," He thrashed more against his restraints as they began to cut into his tender flesh, blood spilled from his wounds and pooled at his feet. [break][break]

"Judicael! Stop you're hurting yourself!" Dr. Fleming called out in alarm. But it was too late. The doors flew open as staff rushed in to sedate the patient. The chief of police moved to Claudia protectively wrapping his arms around her to usher her from the room. But Claudia kept her gaze locked on Judicael. [break][break]

"You told me thirty minutes." He called out to her one last time before the nurses sedated him and Claudia was guided from the room. Once she was finally out in the hallway she shoved the chief away from her as she collected herself. "Claudia..." he began but she shook her head. "I need to be alone." and with that she left him staring after her in the hallway. [break][break]

Claudia wasn't allowed to visit Judicael for a while after that incident. But once she had received reports that he had been doing better Claudia was back in earnest. It was imperative that they began Judicael's psychological treatment. She'd poured over her notes and personal recounts of everything that had gone on and while they spent time away from each other.[break][break]

After numerous hours of studies she had developed a specific rehabilitation plan for him in addition to prescribing him medication that should be beneficial. In addition to sessions with her she believed that Judicael could make a full recovery with time. He just needed to be surrounded by people that cared enough for him. [break][break]

Claudia was already on board, if no one else would fight for him, then she would. She made her way towards his room for the first time in a while to begin their personal session once more. Unlike before there would be no guards or other pesky flies fluttering around them in the room. While they'll still be monitored, she'd be able to comfortably talk with Judicael today. [break][break]

Besides, she figured things would be better than they were before. After all, if the staff had been following her plan, Judicael would already be under medication to help with his symptoms of psychosis. As she approached she gently knocked on the door before sliding it open and poking her head in. [break][break]

"Judicael? It's me, Dr. Fleming."

Judicael's gaze on her was heavy, to say the least.[break][break]

Claudia was doing her best to ignore but since it was blatant she found herself growing more and more uneasy. But she wouldn't let it show, she wanted to make him feel comfortable not draw attention to a possible weakness of her own. "You are truly an angel, you have my gratitude," he remarked. "It's no wonder the chief was so concerned with you."[break][break]

So he had picked up on that too? It further confirmed that Claudia would need to have her guard up around this individual since he was so perceptive. "One act of kindness hardly makes me an angel." Claudia said with a smile, "But I am flattered, thank you." She didn't linger on the topic of the chief since it was not one she wished to discuss with a patient.[break][break]

Not to mention it was a bit of a sour point for her anyway, but he didn't need to know that. With his fasten loosened a bit she made her way back to her seat across from him. "It's a long shot, but seeing is believing. The next time a distortion forms, take me there." Claudia raised an eyebrow at him but before she could question him he raised his hands.[break][break]

"Not that I don't trust you're capable of going yourself, it's just that someone with experience would be better adept to help you traverse the realm." There was absolutely no way they would allow her to go to a space-time distortion, especially now that he had said something to her. But as a scientist, Claudia would be lying if she said her curiosity wasn't piqued in that moment. [break][break]

"Hmm, perhaps we can visit once we get you back in tip-top shape, hm?" She said with an easy smile, swiftly tabling the discussion of visiting the rift altogether. "I don't wish to cause anyone harm, I know that's what the chief thinks," Judicael countered. Claudia found a sharp glare wandering towards the one-way window where she knew they were monitoring them. This was such a headache, and she wouldn't have had to clean up their mess if they hadn't made one to begin with. [break][break]

"Oh I know--" Claudia began in an attempt to comfort Judicael but he continued, "But I can understand why he's so fearful. I'd be jealous too. Your skin looks so soft, so fair. If given the opportunity, I don't think I'd be able to keep my hands off of you, Dr. Fleming."[break][break]

Judicael's words thoroughly took her by surprise. Her words caught in her throat as she was momentarily stunned to silence. But she swiftly recovered holding up a hand in the direction of the one-way mirror. She already knew the chief would be itching to encroach upon her time here and she wouldn't have him interfering with her session anymore.[break][break]

Clearing her throat, the doctor politely smiled at her patient. "You're quite the charmer I see, but I'll have to ask you refrain from such advances. I wouldn't want you to get in trouble." She said as she turned her attention towards the files she had on hand. "Instead, I'd like to learn some more about you." she said as she quickly thumbed through her notes. "Is there anything you remember from your time before the space rift? Family perhaps? A lover?"

Judicael went on to say that he had attempted to explain the drawing to the guards earlier to no avail. Not that this knowledge surprised Claudia in the slightest. The investigators wanted cold hard truth's but when dealing with a sick patient who was currently suffering from delusions, cold hard facts would be hard pressed to come by. [break][break]

That's exactly what they hired her for. She didn't understand why they wished to strong-arm their way through the process when they had a specialist like her coming to work on the case. But it worked out in the end for her anyway, she could use the differences between them to her advantage after all. [break][break]

"I was born of the flow of time and space, and in the center of that flow lies one beast. I never got a proper chance to see it, but He tells me that His name is a simple one: He who ensnares time and space." the doctor's gaze follows along on the paper as Judicael goes on to explain the piece. [break][break]

Sure enough there was a being in the center of all the chaos but she couldn't quite make it out. "Time and Space," Claudia muttered for a moment before she began to scratch away at her notepad with her pen. When it came to mythology and religion that had to do with time and space, it was something close to home for Claudia. After all, she came from a region where Arceus and the Creation Trio were worshiped as gods. [break][break]

That being said, could he have encountered Giratina while in the space-time distortions? If so, how did he end up in such a state like this? As she pondered on these new revelations, Judicael's voice cut through her thought process and brought her back to the present. "I know I'm in no place to ask this of you, but this chest restraint is a bit too tight. It's difficult to breathe. May you please loosen it just a notch or two?"[break][break]

Sapphire jewels glanced towards the exit where, no doubt, the investigators and guards were monitoring everything while waiting for her session to be over. She was reminded of the annoyance of this all due to the chief and decided she wouldn't give a damn what was proper protocol or not. After all, they hadn't cared either. [break][break]

"Sure thing." Claudia replies as she pushed back her chair and crossed the room to where Judicael was fastened to his chair. "They're being rough with you, I apologize." she says with an empathetic look on her face, while her slender fingers began to loosen the fasten on his chest. "They're just not used to situations like this. I hope you can forgive them the discourtesy." she said as she offered him a soft smile. "There, that out to do it." she said taking a small step away. "Is that better?"

The urgency in which this case had been brought to her attention was like nothing Dr. Fleming had ever seen before. Claudia wasn't bothered by the attention, after all she had worked her ass off for years to make sure people respected her work, her voice, and her position. She'd dealt with a number of various cases, from tame to something out of your worst nightmare, but this had to be the first time she was needed so desperately. [break][break]

It boosted her ego to say the least. [break][break]

Normally she would chastise herself for not being humble but after all of her hard work, blood, sweat, and tears, she felt that she was entitled to this. Not to mention, as a lover of science and discovery, this case fascinated her. She always did have a penchant for getting involved in things she shouldn't. [break][break]

Along with the officials at the Fairbloom, the local psychiatric hospital in Petalburg City, Dr. Fleming listened as they did their best to interrogate the patient, to no avail. Of course, it was to be expected, their methods were...elementary at best and barbaric at worst. Once guns were brought out Claudia felt her patience on it's last legs.[break][break]

Unable to take this savage display of strength anymore, Claudia decided to intervene. Stepping forward she made her presence known. Sapphire hues landing on the one they called Josef Gordienko. The way he returned her gaze sent a small shiver down her spine. It hadn't been the first time she'd been looked at like that in her profession, but this was the first time it felt so...alien? That was the best way she could put it.[break][break]

"My, you are far prettier than the others who have been questioning me," he complimented. "Dr. Fleming, I take it? It truly is a pleasure." Claudia didn't falter though, she was a trained professional after all. Instead she offered him a bright smile in response to his flattery.[break][break]

As the room fell into silence, Claudia began to think. If she was to get any progress done she needed these brainless brutes out of her way so she could focus, and hopefully get the patient to relax and trust her a bit. "I will trust your judgment, that she is indeed worthy." a whisper came from the man in front of her that caused the doctor's eyebrow to raise.[break][break]

The man flicked his hand towards her, as if asking for a handshake, a greeting. Claudia's gaze slowly followed, his intention was clear. With this many meat-heads in the room though Claudia was certain things would be fine. She slowly lifted her hand and placed it in his. "No ring? Is there no one who strikes your fancy? Because you're far too stunning to be single." His honey trap wouldn't work on her. She'd been on the receiving end of such tactics for far too long.[break][break]

But it certainly gave her a bit of an insight to work with. She was eager to poke and prod his brain to sate her curiosity. But before that...[break][break]

Pushing her curiosity aside for a moment she offered a small smile to her patient. "I find myself too busy to entertain such fantasies I'm afraid. If you could excuse me for one moment." she said politely with a small bow of her head before pulling back her hand and turning to the guards and chief officer in the room. "Gentlemen. With me." she commanded as her heels clicked on the floor when she exited the room.[break][break]

Upon exiting, all but one guard and the other officials waited in the hallway outside of the patient's room. "Listen here." She said as she whirled around to face the chief. "This is a hospital not a jail cell. There is a sick patient in there and if you expect me to get to work and produce some results I need you all to start treating this case seriously."[break][break]

The chief officer sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose. He could already tell this was building up to be quite the headache, after all he and Claudia had some history, he knew her well enough. "And what...would you propose we do?" he asked through gritted teeth even though he was hesitant to do so. [break][break]

Crossing her arms over her chest she stared back at him defiantly. "I want to be in the room with him alone." Without a moments hesitation the chief waved his hand and shook his head. "Absolutely not." Claudia huffed as her brows creased into a frown. "I'm not asking for permission." she growled. "I will have the floor to myself or I will walk out those doors." she declared as she pointed towards the exit. [break][break]

"Claudia that is out of the question. This man is clearly disturbed he could be dangerous--" Claudia didn't allow the man to continue before she raised a hand to interrupt and silence him. "That's Doctor to you, I'm on the clock. And lest you forget, this is my profession, I deal with the mentally sick every day. This is not my first rodeo." Her words held a venomous bite to them "Do not confuse your personal feelings with the responsibilities of your station, Sergeant. You all sought me out. You need me, so you'll do as I say."[break][break]

Silence fell in the hall for a few moments before the Chief Sergeant ran a calloused hand down his face and a heavy sigh ripped through the tension. "Fine, but you'll have thirty minutes--" Claudia inhaled to protest but the Chief slightly raised his voice and continued, "--And he'll be restrained. Otherwise you won't be taking another step in that room, do I make myself clear?"[break][break]

Claudia sighed and glanced towards one of the guards that held the picture the patient had drawn earlier. Snatching it out of his hand she glared towards the man. "Crystal. Now make haste, you're taking up my precious time." she growled under her breath before re-entering the room. [break][break]

"Judicael, is that correct?" Claudia said with a smile as she turned her attention back to her patient. The earlier stress and displeasure had swiftly melted from her features the moment she stepped back into the room. She gestured to the lone guard that followed her into the room. "Please bear with this for a moment. The restraints will be removed after our consultation is finished. I hope it won't be too uncomfortable for you." [break][break]

She took a seat across from him with a clipboard and a notebook to take notes. Once the guard left the room she nodded as she turned her attention back to him. "Now that we have the room to ourselves I hope you'll be able to be more at ease." she said as she offered him a warm smile. "So, Judicael, could you begin by walking me through your drawing here? I'd like to learn more about it, I find it fascinating." she said as she placed the drawing on the table in front of him.
