Ivy's world froze and a cold sensation went down her back. The hairs on her arms stood up, and she didn't know what to do. This person was just.. sitting at her table! Just like that. Oh god.

Then Elise Calcifet came to mind, as well as the pleasent conversation they had had at the Pokemon Center a few days ago. That had started horrible as well, right?! So maybe today she would be pleasently surprised too that this conversation would not turn out a massive embarrassment..

"Y-yeah! I am!" She took the opening once she saw it, trying to make somewhat normal conversation. She wanted to get rid of this horrible terror she was feeling.

"I have three Pokemon so far and no badges, but I think I'll try to go to a Gym sometime, once I am prepared."

This tale of being new and foreign to this region pinched at Ivy's heart. She couldn't imagine what it would be like. She too would be a newcomer in whichever Cities and Towns she'd travel to, but wasn't life in another region just.. on a whole different level?

"That must have been tough. I'd be happy to stay in contact then!" A smile sparked over Ivy's face. "I think I'll head to Verdanturf Town one of these days. But meeting up in the middle would be no hassle! Are you free on the..."

And off she went about which date would work for both of the women to meet again and get to know each other a little better.

Finally she spotted a wild Pokemon. She had come here to train her own ones, particularly Sally. It would be great to see her evolve some time soon, becoming a stunning Salazzle in an instant. She was already slightly larger than Sal, her assumed brother, but that was about it.

Either way, Ivy locked eyes onto the wild Forretress a short distance away. "...Ember.." She whispered to Sally, the Salandit taking note of her command and promptly shooting fire at the Forretress.

An easy win.

Ivy had to admit: Verdanturf Town and the surrounding area was beautiful. It must be a nice place to live in, but she knew this was only one of many stops on the way laying in front of her. Verdanturf was way too close to her former home, Rustboro, to feel like.. something she could call her own. Her secret place.

Having followed Elise outside the Pokemon Center, Ivy released Sal and Sally from their balls. The two Salandit looked at one another, before eyeing the other trainer's two Pokemon.

Sally moved a step closer to Mana, sniffing. She was interested, but cautious. Sal stayed right behind Sally as if being protected by her.

"Sal and Sally." Ivy pointed at both of them respectively when introducing them to Elise.

"Oh, you heard that?" She hadn't thought this woman had payed too much attention to her conversation with the nurse prior to her interruption. "Thank you! Yes, it would be nice to travel with someone or have someone to meet up with along the way, you know."

Then she paused. "But aren't you busy? Being, uh, an Ambassador and all."

While Ivy had seen Pokemon in the state of Mega-Evolution in books and other media, the idea of coming face to face with one gave her goosebumbs. And to have to fight one like that in a Gym Battle would have been terrifying, she was sure. "Thank god it didn't.." Ivy mumbled to herself as a sort of reply to the stranger's tale.

Oops!

Her voice was louder than intended in that moment. She tensed up, looking at the stranger that was talking about his Gym experience. Now she had given away that she had been listening in....

Yikes! First the unpleasant encounter with that furious woman in the Tunnel, and now, just a few days later, this. Ivy really wasn't making things easy for herself...

"Bitch?!" Ivy couldn't believe her ears. But then again, this was fitting the way this strange woman had behaved and spoken before. Just being rude and pretending like giving her Eevee some food was a crime! Ivy couldn't wait to get away from her and clear her mind. She felt claustrophobic, elevated by the interior of this tunnel, damp and dark.

"Hope we don't meet again, you-" Ivy cut herself off and just walked off into the opposite direction as the woman.

Don't pay it too much attention.

"Wow, thanks for assuming the worst." Ivy huffed. She did not like the tone in which this stranger spoke to her, as if she had something to apologize for! Ivy didn't consider how from an outside perspective, the other woman's viewpoint was quite justified.

"I didn't see you, that's all. Go have a nice day.." The way Ivy spat out the second sentence, it was clear she wasn't simply wishing them the best. She was grumpy.

The Eevee taking her food and chewing on it, albeit a few steps away, sparked joy in Ivy. She considered that perhaps this animal was too shy to join her team, and she wouldn't want to force it. But the least she could do was take a nice picture of it to--

Her blood froze to ice when she realized she was being spoken to! Ivy looked up, spotting someone approaching the Eevee that perhaps wasn't all that wild... it already had a trainer taking care of it!

Ivy wanted to explain the situation, but momentarily she was stunned, not knowing what words to say to the stranger. So she just stared, looking guilty of something she had not wanted to do. She hadn't wanted to breach another trainer's boundaries, really!

Ivy's hot chocolate turned colder minute by minute. But she wanted to keep sitting here, pretending to drink very slowly instead of getting a second beverage or another croissant. The story the stranger one table over was telling was too interesting not to keep listening in as long as possible.

That person had not one but multiple gym badges, and telling someone about how the battle and lead-up to it for the most recent one had gone. Ivy wanted to soak in every word of it!

While in the distance some other Trainer was talking to their Pokemon, Ivy was focused on the Eevee and didn't pay attention to the words spoken. She took a step forward but felt unsure wether to keep approaching or not. The wild creature looked at her with hesitation.

"I have some treats, my little one." While speaking, Ivy moved her hand towards one of her pockets and grabbed a small snack. Then she held out her hand, revealing the food to the shiny Eevee. "Do you want it?" She smiled.

At least that was the vibe Ivy got at the moment. She readjusted her posture a bit, allowing herself to relax.

"Hello, Mana and Chamomile." The trainer looked towards Elise. "And hello, Elise." She smirked. "I'm Ivy. And those are Sal and-"

Then she remembered that she hadn't let her two Salandit out of their balls as to not crowd the center too much. "Nevermind, I can show them to you outside."

Who'd have thought I'd meet someone so famous on this random day?!

Was that...?

No way! A shiny Eevee...?!

Ivy couldn't believe her eyes when she saw it just wandering around in the tunnels. It was dark and gritty in here so honestly, the young woman only wanted to get through this place as quickly as possible. And now, here of all places, she saw her first shiny Pokemon ever? What were the odds!

Immediately she kneeled down and got out one of her four Pokeballs. "Shhh, hey there, shh shh.." Ivy was ready to throw it once the Eevee would look into her direction, wondering where that voice came from.
