deeper down. and deeper still, he dove. following his superior's instructions. seeing the rusted gap in the ship. it sorta reminded him of an infected wound. but the beckoning darkness, also reminded him of a dark abyss...

turning on the underwater flashlight attached to his suit. the light cut a bright swathe through the inky blackness, giving him a visual of what lay within. it was very much a cargo hold. with remnants of what was, left to rot away from the salty seawater.

motioning for his relicanth to follow him. the ancient fish easily made quick work of the binacles. scaring them away without much of an effort as they retreated into the cliffsides.

"now what do we have here?" brannon mused out loud. noting some of the floating pieces of former passengers things. however, that wasn't what caught his interest. it was deeper still. "gonna look a bit deeper. i have a feeling something valuable maybe nearby." he stated over the radio, his curiosity piqued.

as he submerged deeper into the husk of a ship. he heard the ship groan slightly. the wear and tear from being underwater for years no doubt made the whole thing unstable. it wasn't used to people messing with it. however, he saw something earlier, a glint when he shone his flashlight.

and his keen eyes were rewarded with a beautiful case of high quality pearls. pretty big ones too. "well, lookie here...! looks like my clamperl diving days are paying off!" he joked, before looking around. "how much time we lookin' at, bossman?" he questioned Howard. "cause' i think there's a bit more here than we expected."

brannon followed into the water soon after. feeling the rush of water as he dived into the depths, only to feel a sense of suspension once completely submerged. underwater was always a foreign, almost freeing, experience. you could find a sense of zen under the ocean... if it wasn't for the pesky thing humans needed called 'oxygen'.

what loomed below was an old, weathered, monstrosity of gnarled iron and broken dreams. lost futures. damned souls trapped with their remains left to wend underwater for an eternity. their souls guarding what possessions still linger below... if he believed in that sorta thing. the truth was that the dead couldn't give a damn about materials of the living world. so it was finders keepers.

he kept his sense sharp, even though they were in safer waters there were still dangers that could lurk around here. and being blind to danger would simply make a dead idiot. throwing out a pokeball, in a burst of light appeared a relicanth. it's 'gaze' focused on the trainer. as he made a motion with his hand signifying 'guard me'.

the ancient fish simply floated about keeping a safe distance from its trainer, ready for anything. he'd sink deeper into the depths,keeping an eye open for Howard as they neared closer and closer towards the S.S. Wailord.

tired green eyes glanced at the other man. a light quirk of his lips, an upturn into an amused smile. he ran a hand through his dark hair as he let out a sigh. "i've did a bit of diving in my youth. though this ain't anything like hunting for clamperls." shaking his head he focused his full attention on his fellow archeologist. "what's the worse thing we can run into? sharpedos?"

he chuckled, his voice sounding a bit more livelier than he looked. if one would look into his eyes. they'd see a spark of curiosity and excitement shining in those pale green hues. he picked up the diving helmet that was not handed to him, due to him merely being another grunt. how, polite. "nothing i can't handle. right then, let's get the goods." he stated somewhat eagerly, putting on his diving helmet and mentally preparing himself for the dive into the depths.
