A Midnight Dreary

Just her luck. Of course someone was here. How could she have missed something so crucial while she cased the place. No matter, with her mask, she stood no chance of getting recognized. Not like this person would live to see what was behind it anyway. She doesn't speak a word, the only sounds coming from her Vullaby which began to start its assault.[break][break]

A Dark Pulse envelops the area, blowing out all the lights in the room and enshrouding her figure even more. The only thing he would be able to make out were the red of her eyes. Swift steps follow suit, all headed towards the man in front of her. Hopefully she could end this all in one go, a swift punch to his head to knock him out easily.

Box After Box

This wasn't the kind of work for a little girl like her. It was almost as if just yesterday, she was playing out in the field with her parents. Days that are now just a memory.[break][break]

Her arms and legs shook, each crate took every amount of strength she had just to unload. Before this, the heaviest thing she had ever carried was her beloved doll. Every now and then she would think where that thing ended up.[break][break]

Unlike the rest of the grunts, she had only carried a few boxes before having to stop and catch her breath. Yet there was no time. Every time she stopped, she was only yelled at, with countless glares shot straight her way from everyone around her. Tears welled up from her eyes, but she pushes them back. She needed to be strong. She needed to endure it all.[break][break]

Just her luck however, when she's tasked to bring the final shipment down, a huge box that not even three of her could carry. Thankfully, a boy was kind of enough to lend his aid.[break][break]

"O-Oh! Thank you so much! I'm... Jill... It's nice to meet you Kouji and... sorry. I didn't think these boxes would be so heavy... But I'm sure with the two of us we can move it down!"[break][break]

With her newfound help, the two are able to set it down along with the rest of the goods. Although it was mostly Kouji who ended up doing the heavy lifting. Still. She at least felt like she was doing her part. After everything was taken care of, she finally gets a good look to her savior and so her curiosity began.[break][break]

"Are you... new too? I haven't been here that long but... it's... not what I was expecting..."

Jill could only stare angrily at this dumb child. Just what game was she trying to play? She and the Galarian Corsola don't even react at first. After a moment of silence, a sigh escapes her lips before speaking.[break][break]

"What do you think you're doing? Can't you see we're minding our own business?"[break][break]

Her Pokemon began to conjure up a Hex, its body darkening as it readies a powerful attack. If left to its own devices, there was no telling the damage it could cause. Jill puts a hand in front of it, signaling it to cease.[break][break]

"Stop. We're not supposed to get into any trouble."[break][break]

Not just yet anyway. Her eyes trail back to the girl in front of her, annoyance spelled plain across her face.[break][break]

All those were names she had heard extensively about before during her time in Kanto. In particular, jayden cross, who personally saw to her transfer. In fact, he was the one who organized everything for her, from the mode of transportation, her meeting with Cillian and even her living situation.[break][break]

"The war was the first thing I participated in after my initial training. I was... not as prepared as I am now back then, but it proved to be an invaluable experience for the rest of my years. I learned a great many things, things I am no longer afraid of anymore."[break][break]

She was no longer the child living blissfully unaware of the world's filth. There was no chance of her going back to the way she used to live, or anything remotely like it. Her hands had been stained by this organization. Painted red by the countless lives she's taken, all because someone ordered her to. What other choice did she have.[break][break]

"And so I will never deny any directive given to me. If you need someone gone, they will never be heard from again by the next day. Never once have I been caught either by camera or person taking what was required for Rocket. Even if I did, I would deal with it or them promptly. Infiltration, coercion, blackmail. The camera doesn't go unnoticed by Jill, upon entering the room she pinpointed every security system she could lay her eyes on. A force of habit in her line of work, but better to be safe than sorry in case it would become... important later.[break][break]

Her eyes then shift towards those gloomy hands of his while taking her seat. So they weren't lying. This man possessed some sort of power that so few could hope to attain. Power that many would covet. He's not one to be crossed.[break][break]

"I have no opinion on the state of your organization here in this region. I'm here to do whatever your branch sees fit for me." She begins, "However... I will repeat what my superiors have instructed me to say from the Kanto division."[break][break]

Her eyes then lock on to those of Cillian Quinn's before continuing, or at least she'd try to. Those tinted glasses of his made tracking eye movements much more difficult to perceive, a handy tool of his.[break][break]

"They are sorely disappointed in the time it has taken your branch to gain control over Hoenn. That in the years that have passed, they could've taken Kanto over a thousand times. And now they have sent me over, to do that which your people may be incapable of doing."[break][break]

She blinks, keeping that same serious stare after relaying their message.[break][break]

"That is all. In the war to come, I'm sure you'll be needing as much manpower as possible. So don't hesitate to use me as necessary."

A Midnight Dreary

This is supposed to be an easy job. Having stolen from various high-end locations such as a CEO's office or a police station's evidence room, something like a lone warehouse seemed like child's play to Jill. These types of places were usually empty at this time of night... but if someone were to appear... they would be disposed of.[break][break]

She climbs her way up onto the roof of the building, not a soul in sight as she quickly picks the lock of the roof door. Once opened, she sneaks her way through the rest of the warehouse, her eyes carefully scanning from side to side for any cameras or security systems. However, it seems this company must be worse for wear, as they didn't have either of dependencies.[break][break]

Box after box are opened, with the help of her Vullaby, they would Knock Off the locks on each one and rummage through their contents. Placing what was needed into her bag for safekeeping.[break][break]

All in all, this is like taking candy from a baby.

Here Jill was, standing in one of the many hearts of Rocket. Personnel from all around her march like the beat of a drum, faces that she may or may not ever see again. Faces that she wouldn't even bother remembering, it was rare to see someone last long in this organization. People come and go, new blood to be tainted, just like her. If only they knew what they had gotten themselves into.[break][break]

That was neither here or there, she had no right to complain, no means to escape. All she can do is march along with the rest of them.[break][break]

After receiving directions on who to report to, Jill makes her way to the office of one Cillian Quinn. The door was like any other door, the only difference being the man behind it. She knocks three times before opening and letting herself in. She now stood in front of Cillian Quinn, who she read about during preparation for her transfer. Tall and menacing, she wondered just how powerful he really was based on the reports. And whether this avatar nonsense was real.[break][break]

"Jill Nightingale, from Kanto. I'm told you're the one who'll instruct me on what I need to do next after my arrival."[break][break]

Her eyes take a quick rundown of the office. Void, nearly empty, and dreary. Not a decoration in sight. Whoever this person was, he meant business.

Soon after her relocation to Hoenn, Jill is issued a new living space for her time that she'll be spending here. Already informed of who her roommate will be, the idea of living with someone didn't sit well with her. Back home, she easily got by in her quarters, a bed all to herself with nothing else needed. After all, a home's primary purpose is to rest, anything else was deemed... extra.[break][break]

Arriving at her new dorm, she slides the key in place to a door she will see time and time again in the future, unlocking it for the first time and walking through. She takes a look around, if her roommate was there, she wouldn't even give so much as a "hello" to her. Her eyes would scan the area around her, making note of where every little thing was and placing it in her memory. Then, she'd walk inside with her bag of clothes, opening room after room to see which one she would call her own, finally settling in to an empty bedroom once she found it.

A sigh breathes out from her lips. Her arms stretch far and wide on the edges of the bench she was sitting on in the town square. Her Galarian Corsola sits idly by on the what-used-to-be open spot next to her. Her sharp eyes stare straight into those passing by her, looking at her with disdain or disgust. She merely lets out a slight chuckle at the notion.[break]

"Hmph... Looks like they're even scared of us here huh Corsola?"[break][break]

The grotesque looking sea creature says nothing. The ghost coral Pokemon never once has muttered a sound, still, Jill had a small fondness for the pitiful Pokemon. In some ways, they were both alike, and maybe that's why they worked so well together.[break][break]

Jill takes her gaze to the bright blue sky. The same one she could see back in Kanto. She wondered how things were doing back there, and if she'd ever return. If she even wanted to in the first place. On days where there was no mission to be had, she found herself simply waiting, standing by until Rocket needed her.[break][break]

"Not exactly the start of this new life I was thinking of..." She mused to herself, boredom soon beginning to overwhelm her.

Not even a day after arriving and she's already put to work. Mere hours after reporting in to her new section, is she paired up with a fellow Rocket member, Kazuya Yoshida. While she preferred to work alone, there was no arguing with the heads of command and she'd just have to get used to the presence of others. Maybe this was supposed to be some sort of team bonding exercise, whatever the case, their mission was clear.[break][break]

A lone warehouse abandoned by its people, who knows just what it was used for in the past. Those details didn't matter, all that did was that there were precious materials inside that Jill and Kazuya's organization wanted, and they would have it.[break][break]

She turns to look at her partner in crime... although, would it really be a crime if no one owned the place?[break][break]

"Kazuya was it? Listen. We go in and out, taking whatever we can carry. Anyone gets in our way? We deal with them. Got it? Try to keep up."[break][break]

After giving the instructions, she runs to the side entrance of the warehouse, placing her hand onto the doorknob, prepared to open as soon as Kazuya followed suit.
