after the ultra beast war, hoenn begins to heal. the megalopolan invasion may have failed; however, it is clear there is much more at stake. a prophecy revolving around a cyclical meteoroid, the appearance of necrozma and a dangerous and viral alien threaten the safety of the region once more.
with rocket's new boss, the resurgence and reappearance of the crime syndicate's presence is imminent. the league has done its best to repair its reputation, and with the victory of a war under their belt, perhaps it is enough. but the seeds of distrust have already been sown in the ravaged land of this region, causing many to wonder what will grow?
He took a mental note of the hours of operation for the woman's gym as she listed them before giving them a fond farewell. He was curious about challenging a gym in the future once he had a suitable team for battling. Hopefully she wouldn't mind indulging him in a friendly challenge, boxing was fun and all but having a battle was fun as well and he missed it from his younger years.
Sadly the other man didn't seem like the trainer type, that was ok. He was indeed a find gentlemen, but it seemed like today ahd ended when he said that he needed to go as well. Oh well, guess it off to do some more shopping for him. Today was pretty fun even if it was short.
If he was being honest he had forgotten for a moment that he was indeed shirtless. Years of conditioning in such a state kind of made it a natural feel for him, so having it being pointed out was a bit embarrassing. THe blush on the man's face was barely visible to begin with as he put a shirt back on, so none would would notice but they would probably notice his eyes trying not to meet hers or her general direction. "No no not really. We're all a little more classy than that." He answered her question while implying that he was indeed a native to these parts, "I just haven't been home in a long time, I guess I forgot how humid it can be around here when the springs start acting up." Now that he thought about it when he was actually younger he himself would even wear the warmest of clothing during the hotter season. Weird. [break][break] Back onto not trying to embarrass himself even further the man made sure to look a bit more presentable by ironing out his shirt as it clung to his body from being damp. Not the best look in the world but what can you do? "I can tell you aren't familiar with the town, have you never been here before?" A change in topic would help very much, plus the woman did seem like she wasn't taking the warm atmosphere well either, "Here for business or for a personal trip? If its the latter I can help suggest some local activities that a lot of tourists miss out on. Call it an apology for my rude display earlier."
The electric terrain was well...electric! Ross had found himself in Luxray territory and while he knew more than enough to dodge past any savage pokemon that might come looking for intruders...that sort of knowledge won't quite help him now. HOw could it when he was staring one down. Him with a pleading but also intense gaze, the Pokemon with its predator leer looking as if it had found quite the snack. He had never heard of a Pokemon eating people before, well not yet anyway, and he wasn't too keen on having it crunch on his bones tonight.
Ever so slowly his fingers brushed the pokeball that lay at his side on his belt, he had an empty one and thought, if he could at least get it inside the ball he would have a few more precious seconds to get away. If he did catch it then...good luck for him? COuld it be considered good luck though? Whether it was or not the Pokemon jumped at him and the boxer was quick to retaliate, lobbing the ball from his belt and at the incoming animal.
It was amazing how just letting a bit of cool water enter your system, or cover you, just help soothe the burning sensation on one's skin. Sure it wouldn't probably last for very long but it was such a nice sense of relief that it might as well be. Wanna know something else that is amazing? How quick it is to suddenly feel embarrassment when someone notices you giving yourself what is essentially a shower in public, y'know just without all the whole public indecency and what not.
He managed to hear most of what the lady said and make eye contact with her before a beat passed between them. His face light up with a bright shade of pink as he tossed the bottle into a nearby trash can and rubbed the back of his head. "Oh hello there miss. Didn't...didn't see you there. Fine weather we're having aren't we?" The clouds were clearing up above and the temperature around town was cooling down, so it wasn't an inaccurate thing to say. Just something probably timed well...timed poorly we'll say. "Don't let the humidity fool you, the hot springs in town are just as refreshing as ever don't you know." Oh god why did he say that.
Ok so maybe that was a bit of an understatement when your here in the hot spring capital of the world but still, it was very hot. Or was it humid? It didn't really matter the sweat that was coming form Ross' body was enough to indicate that the temperature around here was a bit too much for him. He felt ashamed really, he was a native to this town and now its heat was starting to have an effect on him? Perhaps he has grown accustomed to places with much cooler temperatures now that he was traveling around the whole region. Or maybe he just didn't notice all this time?
Anyway the shirt he was wearing had to go, so he stripped right next to a vending machine, his plain t-shirt wrapped around his hand as he wiped off any sweat along his now bare torso and tossed it over his shoulder. If the heat didn't make it more damp hopefully it would dry it for him. For now he was starting to feel thirsty, so plunking a few coins into the machine and out popped a bottle of water. Its cool and refreshing taste (does water even have taste) was already helping him feel better. That's when an idea popped into his own head as he remembered something he used to do after fights to help himself feel calmer.
Suddenly the bottle was raised up to his head and out poured the remaining half of the bottle with it pouring down his head to his body. Already he was feeling much much cooler. Temperature wise.
He had heard news of Lavaridge getting a new gym leader somewhere down the line a few months back if he remembered right. Ross had never quite been one to challenge any of the gyms in his younger days, his own career taking a little too much time to really indulge in trainer related activities. However lately he has been getting ready for the off season and he doesn't partake in many matches as before so now was probably a good time as any to get started. Only question was where would he go first? It'd be kind of rude to suddenly ask this woman for a chance to battle her so he'd hold off on Mauville's gym. [break][break] there was something about Buck's words that struck the odd chord with Ross, despite being from Kalos, Lumioise City for that matter, he had never met a gym leader before? Call it ignorance but he was under the assumption that Unovan people were sort of big on the whole celebrity scene. "You haven't Buck? Sorry I was under the assumption you did a bit of being a trainer when you were younger. My mistake." It was probably something that didn't need to be said out loud but the large man's head sort of skipped that option over when his mouth opened up. oops.
An accomplished boxer who hails from the warm town of Lavaridge. He started his career during his early twenties and made a small name for himself in the circuit. Halfway into his career he joined up with the league and started to spread a bit of propaganda during his matches. He's vastly against team rocket and is always ready to put a match on hold when he hears that manpower is needed from the league during missions or harsher times like the attack on Slateport.
[attr="class","ruinInfo"] A heart of gold and a proper gentlemen (22 hours a day anyway) is what makes Roscharch a very decent friend indeed. Many can call him at best a great bit Ursaring. A guy who loves to gives hugs and is pretty scary once he's gotten a bit agitated. Of course most of the time he's more calm and collected putting on a friendly persona for a lot of people. He does have a bit of trouble with crowds however, performing and showing off for them is one thing but if you put him on a group project with more than five people he starts to struggle trying to keep up with things. So he likes to have a small circle of buddies at any time, so he's not too much of a party animal.
He's not an overly aggressive man, yes the whole pro boxer irony isn't lost on him, however he is one to push against things with the strength of ten men. He very much dislikes team rocket like any other law abiding citizen and will jump at the chance to help people deal with them but he also tends to leave smaller matters on their own. As such most of his enemies would come in the form of salty opponents who swear that they deserve to have his status and recognition despite not working just as hard for it. SO he doesn't actively make enemies.
Rosharch has never quite been too interested in finding someone at his current point of life. HOwever he does consider himself a bachelor and will gladly go out with people for a good old fun time whenever the time is present for him. He's sort of the romantic type, planning out dates and gestures of good will and faith to those that catch his fancy and he will admit. He's kind of easy when it comes to the whole flirting thing, so if someone makes the first move they pretty much have him in check.
"Its a pleasure to make your aquantice then, Alfric, Buck." The name of the woman sounded familiar but the boxer couldn't quite place it. Like he's recently seen it somewhere on a paper or something. However knowing that the man's pokemon was okay quickly caught his attention more so than remembering this lady. "Well that's good to hear, she's a very beautiful Kecleon." He commented as he noticed some kind of outline or distortion in the area around his hair suddenly move down to his legs. It was quite lucky indeed that the poor thing wasn't squished between him and its trainer, now that was something he wouldn't have seen if he bumped into them.
"I'm from here as well, Hoenn I mean. I'm Lavaridge raised." He answered the general question of where they were all from that was put out for everyone to answer. "I travel a lot around the region for my job so i've been thinking of moving actually. Just for a change of scenery mostly, I love my home but you can only spend so much time in a hot spring before your skin becomes eternally prune." He smiled as he said his joke and awaited for the woman to share her backstory, however the man noticed a sign in the back that advertised the gym in the city and pictured a shilloute of a woman who had similar proportions to...
"Oh! Miss Alfric aren't you the gym leader of this city? I thought your name seemed a bit familiar."
If there was one problem with having a large body and mass it was that small impacts were kind of unnoticeable unless they were front and center where Rosharch could see them coming. A trick of the brain perhaps as if something were to ever hit him from behind he wouldn't even register the feeling, something from the front however kicked his senses on and gave him that sensation of impact. So it was no wonder that when the woman bumped into him he could feel her weight against his as she backed up from the wall of muscle. "No mam' the fault is all mine. I really do get in the way of things when-" A perfect example of him not noticing things from behind came when a scream and a voice came from his back. [break] Whirling his head around he saw a man on his arse and a Kecleon on his head all with a smirk on his face. Red filled the man's face and was mostly hidden by his mustache. Did he seriously get bumped into by two people at the same time? That was some kind of sitcom gag writing right there. "T-two?" The man thought out loud before he took a step back so that the both of them were in his field of view and gave them a little bow, "My apologies to both of you truly. I know I tend to bump into people quite often if you'd believe that, so please do forgive me. Especially you sir, you and your Pokemon are not hurt are you?" He questioned the curly haired man as he extended a helping hand out to him to grab onto and pull him back up to his feet. "My name is Rosharch Booker. Pleasure to make your aquantices, if your both not too troubled at all."
A splash of water on his face was a nice welcome to the heat that came off from the air around him. The sun was more out into the middle of they sky and added by belting him down with hot rays of sunshine. He was getting hungry, especially watching Khan trying to reach for some berries that hung from a tree that was just a few centimeters taller than the Nidoking (if you can even believe that) even as it stood on the tip of its toes. Its fingers were just scratching the surface when something flew out of the tree's branches and snatched the berry out of Khan's grasp. The Nidoking did not take this very well, apparent by the hail of Poison Sting it shot into the tree's branches. [break][break] SUddenly a shadow fell from it and it was greeted by the poison pokemon's potent Mega Horn and swatted to the ground near Ross. The large man just stood there with his eyes a bit wide at the scene that played out. The masked bird pokemon snarled at Khan and was preparing to strike, its focus solely on the Nidoking that it didn't notice the pokeball gently lobbed at its head before it was too late.
