Beneath the surface, the water still flows dangerously all around, the currents shifting to and fro with no understandable predictability to them due to their incredibly sudden and tempestuous nature of the water due to Kyogre's arrival. However, deep beneath the waves, Celeste was perfectly suited to open her eyes and watch as Kyogre dived back into the sea.
Desperately holding her breath, Celeste watched in awe as she saw her goddess leap out of the water, only to dive back down with a glorious cry. Before she could even think to attempt to follow, Kyogre swam away down into the darkness of the ocean. As soon as the waters began to recede, Celeste's pokemon quickly surged up towards the surface.
Breaching out of the water on the back of her Wishiwashi, Celeste collapsed against the school of fish as she breathed heavily, taking it all in. The waters level was sinking back to its normal level, the seaside town practically destroyed, but there were still plenty of people on the mountain. With the sight of
Olivia Abbiati being dragged back ashore, Celeste's eyes continued to scan around, attempting to find
skyler dross . Hopefully, they were somewhere safe.
She would attempt to call out, but everything had absolutely drained her energy. She could hardly breathe, let alone speak. Her exhausted body simply rested atop her pokemon. Those foul invaders were gone, Lilycove and theoretically Hoenn was safe for now. But Kyogre... those markings remained even as they left. Just what was it? It wasn't anything she had seen before.
Gently patting the school, Celeste whispered hoarsely between a few coughs.
"T-take... me out to sea. Let me see." They traveled slowly this time, swimming out into the horizon for quite a bit before Celeste patted them to ask them to stop. They were pretty far away from shore now, but all she really wanted was to just be out on the open water away from the troubles of man.
"This is fine... Just enough." With a struggle, Celeste slowly sat up and attempted to get her bearings. She might be alive, but the guilt would inevitably make her feel like she should be dead. With a heavy sigh, the young woman just slowly sat back and looked out across the horizon. The surface of the sea reflecting back the silver moon in the sky, an oddly peaceful sight considering the horrors of war from just before.
Man might find ways to attempt to bend nature to its will, to impose their dominion over its strength and endless power. But nature always has a way of proving men's folly, of taking back what it desired and finding a way to heal. Perhaps, Kyogre needed that time to heal too.
"Blessed divine," she began, giving a soft few words of prayer.
"Be at peace. Those markings... I will help you. This I swear."Giving up on trying to sit upright and balance upon the school of fish, Celeste sent out her Wailord beneath her, allowing it to lift her up as she recalled her Wishiwashi instead, letting the school of fish go free. Laying down on her back atop the Wailord, Celeste's eyes gazed up at the sky as she spoke softly to her pokemon.
"Do you think... I did the right thing?" Of course, they couldn't respond in any way she would understand. Her Dhelmise remained quiet, simply floating in the ocean. The Wailord however, let out a soft cry that echoed across the sea briefly. She might not have understood it but the intent was pretty clear to her. Celeste gently patted Tiny's back as she laid there, closing her eyes.
"Thank you, big guy..."Celeste's eyes would remain closed as she floated atop the Wailord, letting the gentle rocking and the ocean breeze cool and soothe her nerves. The war was won for today, her pokemon played their parts, it time to rest.
Notes:Celeste is tired.
