NIHILEGO ATTACKS![break][break]
the alakazam's gallantry ends up saving arian from permanent disfigurement. unbeknownst to all except bailey and her astute powers of observation, the TOXIC does a number the moment it lands. the caustic nature of the venom sears into the pokemon's very skin, burning through flesh as skin gives way to muscle. the gardevoir's HEAL PULSE does what it can to halt the damage but it can barely mend at a rate that matches the erosion. eventually, it'll subside as the liquid evaporates from melting through too much. the alakazam lives, recovering, but the pain is unbearable—like burning alive.[break][break]

a MISTY TERRAIN starts to seep onto the field. the nature of the attack boasts a temperance that prevents pokemon from succumbing to the ailments. for now, it stands. the alakazam is spared of the insidious nature of the neurotoxin.[break][break]

TELEKINESIS tries to take hold. the meowstic will find itself struggling to restrain the otherwise immobile nihilego. something about trying to contain it with psychic powers seems off. the female meowstic will feel it, something probing against the telekinetic energy, curious, resistant. a blue hue starts to outline the jellyfish as its tentacles are brought to a motionless halt. now its a sitting duck.[break][break]

RRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE[break][break]

a feral, concentrated burst of pressure breaks the pokemon free. the PSYWAVE that discharges from the pokemon shatters the TELEKINESIS, overbearing on anything the meowstic can muster alone. its hot and streaks out in every direction with the nihilego as the epicenter. the world becomes light and its blinding. for only the slightest of moments, everything goes white and nothing else is visible. like the ECHOED VOICE, it does little real damage but anything unable to put up a defense against the psychic based attack will feel the heat, mentally singed by the transcendental energy.[break][break]

vision returns instantly and the pokemon is buried in a SAND TOMB that encases it in an isolated SANDSTORM. the pokemon doesn't react but the attack nicks and cuts at the pokemon's flesh, sanding it down as the gallade and aggron approach. they come in close and land solid, weighted blows. the glallade parries in a flurry of melee strikes while the aggron lands a tremendous, brutal IRON TAIL. both pokemon come out a little wiser. making physical contact allows them to feel for the opponent's composition, each strike giving them a grasp of the jellyfish's texture. [break][break]

at first it feel gelatinous, squishy, until they land the attack. only when they apply force does the flesh show a stone hard firmness. [break][break]

up close, the pokemon responds the moment it feels the physical attacks. it answer by spewing out its insides. the nihilego empties its sac by expunging the poison they all saw it pooling up. instead of a wild ACID SPRAY, the toxins are purged in the same manner as the earlier PSYWAVE, spreading out in all directions in a expansive SLUDGE WAVE. much like how water pokemon SURF, the nihilego starts to fill the room with its own filth. the floor starts to give way, steel melting until there's nothing left but the earth it stands on.[break][break]

for every inch the SLUDGE WAVE expands, the MISTY TERRAIN reclines. the poison spells an abrupt end to naive fairy-tales. [break][break]

They had to push it back into the portal.[break][break]

“I got an idea!” She shouted to Arian, eyeing his injured Alakazam as their pokemon unleashed their furry of blows. “The portal!” Some of the scientists were still in the room, despite the risks. If the portal lead to that thing's home, then they just had to put it back where it belonged. [break][break]

“Can one of you shut this down?” The Sergeant addressed the scientists with a pointed finger, putting them on the spot.[break][break]

They seemed hesitant, but nod after a moment of deliberation—and that was when the poison was unleashed, ready to flood the room as it began to overpower the Misty Terrain. “No way.” That was possible? Her thoughts are interrupted by a cry of pain—pain from both of her pokemon.[break][break]

Her Krookodile and Aggron had been scorched by the poison. The Krookodile easily retreating after his legs were briefly splashed, having kept its distance after using Sand Tomb—but for the Aggron? He had been too close.[break][break]

The protection may have helped, but something sizzled from the steel pokemon's forearm. “Alpha!” She shouted, feeling something protective flare in her chest—he had been entrusted to her. “You okay?” And she caught sight of injury, seeing how steel had been so easily stripped from his arm to expose the skin underneath.[break][break]

Both of them had taken damage that was sure to worsen—this had to end. “One last gamble, huh?” She said to Arian. “Well, let's do it.”[break][break]

Aggron and Krookodile knew what to do when they glanced back to the Sergeant—she dragged a finger across her throat. “Put that thing back where it belongs.”[break][break]

Disable would hopefully slow the stream just enough for them to find an opening.[break][break]

Her two Meowstics stood in front of her—the male with a hand on the female's shoulder. The effects of Mean Look were released, but only so the male could dedicate everything to prepping for what would come next.[break][break]

Aggron flanked from the left, Krookodile from the right—they unleashed both of their attacks, intending to inflict the damage done to them back onto the creature.[break][break]



And they would try to use the collective force to try and push the strange beast back towards the portal. If that force was not enough, the Meowstics would chime in with their own double assault. Another blast of Psychic energy, just as the last of the Misty Terrain seemed to be lost.[break][break]

NIHILEGO IS DEFEATED?![break][break]
the gallade's PROTECT sizzles underneath the ACID's touch. it shield holds but where the poison touches melts away, creating small holes that allow the pokemon's attack to reach. the result shows on bailey's aggron and krookodile. thankfully, they're no where near as damaged as arian's alakazam but the way her aggron's steel plating melts into nothingness is unsettling to say the least.[break][break]

bailey's call to the scientist does not go unheard. the call to action is what breaks those frozen out of their fear and admiration. they start to hustle as they spill into the control room behind them. one of them shout in determination as he slams down a level, causing the portal to reverse and start sucking in everything in the room. it's not enough to pull anything in. they'll need to give it one good push.[break][break]

the alakazam's DISABLE pulses outward but doesn't react in the traditional sense. it doesn't put a halt to the pokemon's SLUDGE WAVE. the only change is that the blue psychic waves tear a path straight to the pokemon. TOXIC ink continues to spill out but the alakazam manages to split open a path not unlike the red sea.[break][break]

the CONFUSE RAY revolve around the pokemon but nothing notable happens. the lack of change in the pokemon's simplistic behavior makes it hard to gauge whether or not it's CONFUSED.[break][break]

aggron and krookodile are in position. they're ready for REVENGE and their combined assault is timed to double the impact back at the same moment, concentrating their pain into a single strike straight into the pokemon's center of mass. the METAL BURST reverberates against the pokemon's core and the krookodile is there as ASSURANCE that the duo is there to lay a decisive SMACK DOWN on the imperious invader. using the strange pokemon's strength against itself is a strong enough fulcrum to send it reeling back. [break][break]

it slips back into the void of the ultra wormhole but the length of its tentacles are too vast to send it back entirely. hundreds of lanky feelings anchor it into the world as it starts to pull itself back out. boom. the synchronized PSYCHIC cuts into the wormhole and nails it from the otherside of ultra space. it rips the pokemon's tendrils from holding onto the rim of the wormhole's existence and its sent flailing as the ropes are being cast back from where they came. [break][break]

but the pokemon is not sent back alone. as the tentacles end up being dragged back as the pokemon is sent hurtling back into the wormhole, they lash out at anything they can. they manage to grab onto several instruments around the room and some of the scientist. struggle all that they can, bailey and arian are unable to save them. there's simply too much of the pokemon. [break][break]

the portal closes and the panic settles. only the sound of the left over acid burning through the ground overshadows the sound of everyone's own breathing. the adrenaline settles and the vigorous thumping of a terrified heart rate catches in parched throats. [break][break]

In its desperation, the monster's outstretched tentacles ensnared the scientists, dragging them through the portal just as it closed.[break][break]

Despite the proximity of Bailey's pokemon, they are not fast enough to catch the flailing hands as those people were dragged through by the portal—Aggron and Krookodile's bodies cleared through the empty air that the portal had once occupied.[break][break]

Bailey felt her adrenaline surge, unsure of her changing emotions—there was no sense of triumph, not when those scientists had been captured. Would they live? What had existed in that strange, distorted landscape? “Fuck—!” and the Sergeant turned and smashed the side of her fist against the closest object—the wall.[break][break]

Her pokemon returned to her side, watching the Sergeant as her chest rose and fell in tune with her frustrated breathing.[break][break]

“What the hell was that thing?” And even if the battle was won, there had been a loss.
