Galerie Mirage

SLATEPORT CITY UPPER DISTRICT

Established in 2016, GALERIE MIRAGE is a luxury two story private art studio, public gallery, and occasional event space with a chic, modern, subtly Kalos-inspired aesthetic. The first floor public gallery is open Thursday through Sunday 12-4pm, and can be booked on those same days (during any specific time period) as an event space at the discretion of the owner, .  Monday through Wednesday, the gallery is closed to the public (appointment only), and are usually the days in which Miss D'aureville spends the majority of her time painting in her second floor private art studio attached to her apartment.

THE EXTERIOR

Galerie Mirage was built to impress. A long, elegant stone path lined with immaculately cared-for shrubbery leads up to a completely rounded tiered stone entry-way, which gives off the distinct feeling of entering a portal from one dimension into another: the mundane day-to-day of Slateport City is left behind as one steps into a quiet sacred space in which the Gods of art and creativity are worshipped. A small, barely noticeable cursive inscription adorns the wall next to the sliding glass door leading into the first floor, spelling out simply Galerie Mirage: une expérience artistique. Flowering potted plants keep watch on either side of the door. The second story can be seen from the exterior - a rectangular, modern apartment building with a unique copper paneling that, in the right light, gives off an oil slick rainbow hue.

THE FIRST FLOOR: PUBLIC GALLERY & EVENT SPACE

The first floor is home to a wide open room with sophisticated bright white walls and soft modern lighting, featuring all of Seraphine's most recent for-sale artworks (as well a select few by Seraphine's Smeargle, Rouge). Comfortable and stylish couches and chairs are available within the room, and a long table for price negotiations and artwork packaging. Attached to this room is a kitchen and wet bar. There is a backdoor leading out to a small, private garden, which does not feature any artwork but can be used for events.

THE SECOND FLOOR: PRIVATE STUDIO & APARTMENT

A spiral staircase with many artworks hanging on the walls grants access to a second floor where there is a hallway with three doors: one leads to a storage closet, one leads to Seraphine's private art studio, and one leads to Seraphine's private apartment.

The art studio may be toured by private appointment only, and features tall white walls and many wide windows providing a surplus of natural light by which Seraphine prefers to work during the day. Several easels, work-tables, and shelving full of paints, brushes, charcoal, pencils, erasers, and many other art supplies can be found in the studio, pristinely organized, indicative of Seraphine's detail-oriented, meticulous nature. Many of Seraphine's most favorite artworks that she herself has collected over the years grace the walls of her studio, serving as reminders of what she aspires to become as an artist. On her main work-table, there is a framed photo of three young girls: Seraphine as a teenager with her two younger sisters - Mirabelle and Josephine - on either side of her. The room is home to many potted plants - hanging and adorning tables, giving the entire space a clean, fresh botanical feel.

This art studio is where all of Seraphine's other work takes place, in addition to her creative endeavors. If you are commissioning a forgery, a private appointment must be made, and the transaction will take place in the studio as opposed to the first floor public gallery.

STAFF

THE ARTIST

Seraphine D'aureville has been painting since she was three years old. She grew up in Laverre City, Kalos, the eldest of three daughters of the wealthy D'aureville family. She attended private primary and secondary school until the age of 16, after which she transferred to a fine arts academy where she received private instruction in watercolor, acrylic, and oil painting (the later of which became her preferred medium). She has been featured in galleries and magazines across the Kalos region, and, at the age of 22, received sponsorship to strike out on her own and open her own private studio. Seraphine chose to relocate to Hoenn, where she did indeed open her own private studio, which eventually became Galerie Mirage as it is known today.

Seraphine will consider any commission request, but her specialty is in landscapes. She loves painting iconic locations across the various regions of the world, and especially enjoys capturing fond memories that her clients have of various places from their pasts.

EMPLOYEES

@bishop - Handyman, laborer, janitor, jack-of-all-trades. He commissioned Seraphine for a new identity at the recommendation of , after which Seraphine offered him steady employment as well; at Galerie Mirage, he goes by that faux identity (Ramsey Castle). The reality is, Bishop is on the run from various criminal charges, and came to Hoenn to start a new life.

POKEMON ASSISTANTS

Seraphine's Smeargle, ROUGE, is a master craftsman himself. He often assists his master when she is creating her paintings, and has been known to create his own unique works of art, as well, which are also sold in the downstairs gallery. He is Seraphine's most loyal companion, the Pokémon that has been with her the longest.

Seraphine's Chandelure, LUMIERE, often floats around Galerie Mirage helping to provide mood lighting.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Seraphine is currently considering taking on at least one apprentice. If you are a painter looking to work under a master of her craft, leave a comment with the attached template:
