Seraphine is the sort of woman who appreciates the finer things in life. She was raised wealthy, and is determined to stay wealthy, despite her father’s financial incompetence. Seraphine fears destitution, and losing her beautiful wardrobe, impressive studio, impeccable grooming (hair, nails, makeup, etc.), and notoriety within high society. But deep down, what she truly fears is the ruination of her two younger sisters’ futures. She wishes for them to never know hardship, to be able to enter high society unhindered, and to find love amongst the Kalos elite as she had always dreamed of for herself. Seraphine has since given up on that particular dream in hopes of saving her family’s fortune. Despite her originally altruistic intentions, which come from a place of love for her sisters, Seraphine can be aristocratic to the point of judgment, appearing dismissive of those she feels might negatively impact her reputation (i.e. anyone lower class). She is also the type of person to crave power once she's had a taste of it.


Seraphine is a Type A personality with a creative spirit. She approaches art with a perfectionist’s intensity, despite having a plethora of natural talent. She holds herself to a very high standard, and cannot settle for anything less than blowing her clients away with what she creates for them. In many ways, she is addicted to the forgery part of her business because of how easy it is to impress people with such a skill. She wants to climb the ranks of Rocket because being important feels good, and Rocket feels like the competent family she never had, what with her failure of a father and drunkard of a mother. Only her sisters remain in her good graces, and she does wish for a bright future for them.


Seraphine hates hard labor, and is quite lazy when it comes to the aspects of her life that do not involve her crafts, such as cleaning and grocery shopping (delivery only, she wouldn’t be caught dead at an actual grocery store).


Deep down, Seraphine wants to be worshiped and cared for - she wants to be treated like she treats herself (as a queen), and loved passionately. Her parents - especially her father - greatly disappointed her with their irresponsible handling of the family fortune, and lack of overall parental affection.

WHAT CAN BE LOOKED UP

Seraphine was born in Laverre City in Kalos, the eldest daughter of the wealthy D’aureville family. Her parents are Aldéric and Cosette D’aureville, and she has two younger sisters, Mirabelle (20) and Josephine (16) D’aureville. She moved to Hoenn in 2016. Rumors have always circulated amongst the Kalos elite regarding Cosette's drinking problem and Aldéric's gambling addiction and supposed infidelity (the source of Cosette's failing mental health).


Seraphine has been painting since she was three years old. She attended private primary and secondary school until the age of 16, after which she transferred to a fine arts academy where she received private instruction in watercolor, acrylic, and oil painting (the later of which became her preferred medium). She has been featured in galleries and magazines across the Kalos region, and, at the age of 22, received sponsorship to strike out on her own and open her own private studio, which she decided to do in 2016 when she moved to Hoenn.

Seraphine D'aureville is a well-known artist in Slateport City, and has started to really make a name for herself in other cities across Hoenn, as well. Her private art studio and occasional event space, GALERIE MIRAGE, is a sought after venue for high society affairs and appointments, though every so often, events take place there that are affordable/accessible to the wider public.


Anyone with available funds may commission artwork from Seraphine. She will consider any commission request, but her specialty is in landscapes. She loves painting iconic locations across the various regions of the world, and especially enjoys capturing fond memories that her clients have of various places from their pasts.

ROCKET KNOWLEDGE

POINTS OF INTEREST FOR TEAM ROCKET FACTION

Seraphine has a secondary reputation beyond her prowess in fine arts: she is a master forger, and can be relied upon to copy signatures, legal documents, and whatever else one might need in order to bypass official League scrutiny. A member of Team Rocket with available funds would be welcome to book a private appointment with Seraphine to commission a forgery. This is, in reality, the true nature of Seraphine’s relocation to Hoenn: to ensure that her forgery business thrives and she can make an additional sum of money on top of whatever artwork she manages to sell. In more recent years, Seraphine has begun to crave more power within the organization and hopes to rise in rank.

In Kalos, it came to light six years ago that the D’aureville family had incurred some rather insurmountable debts due to the uncovering of Aldéric’s secret gambling addiction. This caused somewhat of a scandal, as there had already been rumors of Aldéric’s infidelity (true), in Kalos high society. Seraphine moved to Hoenn to get away from her father, who disgusted her, and to save her family’s fortune by starting up her Rocket-backed forgery business. Her art studio - while sincerely a passion of hers - is actually a front for her forgery. Seraphine hopes to pay off her father’s debts and ensure a bright future for her sisters. She is determined for her family to avoid destitution and further embarrassment at all costs.
