Fraser's Fine Goods

MAUVILLE CITY

Established in 2016, FRASER'S FINE GOODS is a reputable pawn shop and antique store known for its rare vintage wares, fair loans, and excellent appraisal services. The shop is located in the arts district of Mauville City. The building itself is of a refined Galarian design, reminiscent of the traditional architecture of Wyndon City.

THE EXTERIOR

Unassuming and yet, charming in its elegance, FRASER'S FINE GOODS is a simple wooden storefront located in-between an independent publishing company and a coffee shop. A hand-carved, hand-painted wooden sign hangs above the shop, and there is a bell attached to the door, meant to chime every time a customer enters. There is an air of sophistication to the building's aesthetic, quaint and nostalgic, as if hoping to transport its customer base back in time to the days of typewriters and wind-up clocks.

ANTIQUE SHOP

When one first enters FRASER'S FINE GOODS, they will be immediately greeted with a wide variety of vintage items and antiques, displayed on tables and shelves, many of which were restored by the shop's owner himself, . Wares come from many regions - Hoenn, Johto, Galar, Kalos, etc; even the rare Kanto item can be found there from time to time. Furniture, appliances, books, records, jewelry, various knickknacks and collectables are some of the common goods found within the shop.

The interior of the shop gives off a mood of organized chaos - though there are many items, the space never feels cluttered or claustrophobic, and it is never dusty. Soft, warm light filters through Galarian-style blinds; the air smells like the crinkled pages of an old book mixed with the faint scent of bergamot.

BACK OFFICE

Behind the back table where the register sits, there is a door that leads into an office space where owner handles his business as a pawnbroker and appraiser. Girard takes appointments five days a week (M - F) between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Sometimes, he meets with other business associates [ fellow Rockets ] in this room, but these meetings usually take place after hours.

The office is a small and windowless but comfortable space, with an antique wooden desk complete with typewriter (which Girard uses for writing up official appraisals and loan paperwork), laptop, telephone, and various stationary tools. A standing lamp provides the room with light. In the corner, there is a rolling bar with several bottles of expensive liquors, a tea set and electric kettle, several jars of loose-leaf tea, and a few boxes of crackers and shortbread cookies. A vintage record player adorns a wooden table next to the bar. Often, when Girard is tending to the shop, his office door will be cracked open and soft, classical music can be heard coming from inside.

STAFF

THE OWNER

is a thirty-five year old pawnbroker, appraiser, antiques restorer, and businessman hailing from the city of Wyndon in Galar. He came to Hoenn in 2014 after an attempt to start a company with a close friend from university fell through. Girard has Bachelors degrees from Wyndon University in History and Economics, and a Masters of Finance, as well as certifications from both Galar and Hoenn in appraisal services. Girard has also made a hobby out of furniture restoration. In addition to his business credentials, he is also a tea connoisseur.

EMPLOYEES

As of right now, Girard is the only person who works at FRASER'S FINE GOODS, besides his Pokémon assistant and longtime companion, Mortimer.

POKEMON ASSISTANTS

Girard's Galarian Mr. Mime, MORTIMER helps run FRASER'S FINE GOODS, and can often be found making tea for customers who have scheduled an appointment with Girard. Mortimer is a distinguished and loyal servant who Girard has been friends with since his boyhood in Galar.
