he got a lost child with him.

"littleroot, huh?"

he supposed the only thing to do was to bring him back to his home. he was young, about five to six years of age. seemingly average and not that much important as well. he missed the times when he was just like the kid.

he didn't blame the kid for trying to start his own adventure. littleroot town was unsurprisingly boring, after all. it was just like verdanturf, but significantly worse. he didn't envy the child at all.

the unfortunate thing was that he didn't have his own pokemon, nor did he have a sense of direction. not a pokeball to attempt to capture one too. probably did not think his getaway all too well. he'd be prey by now had his mightyena had not spotted him from all the way across the route.

"aight, let's get you back."

the child sobs as it tries to point kyle to a direction. no words come from him, but he recognizes fear from his expression.

a zangoose pops out of the bushes. kyle shields the child away as he readies a pokeball, releasing a mightyena to go against the wild pokemon. he utters a single command that would end the inevitable battle before it could even start.

"roar."

the booming sound that came from the dark-type was enough to scare away the wild pokemon from the encounter. it freezes in place for a moment before it turns tail, coming back from where it came from.

the wild pokemon wasn't the only one affected by the booming voice from his mightyena. kyle found himself in a different predicament soon after.

"j-just shush, okay?"

he tries to coax the child to stop crying from being intimidated by the roar as well. his pokemon lets out a muffled ruff, alerting kyle of the presence of another wild pokemon. he supposed he can't deal with it at the same manner as before.

he gives up trying to get the child to cooperate and, instead, carries the crying child with him as they leave the area.
