13 years ago the Hoeen League with the assistance of the Global Police Bureau, executed a massive raid against the cultist organization, 'The Children of the Dark'. They were meant to take advantage of a bloody coup occurring between the enigmatic cultist leader and his most trusted advisor. What they found was far more grisly.[break]
Records state that on entry the authorities instead discovered one of the most infamous mass suicide events in the history of Hoenn. Over 200 were lost, 25 injured. The rest of the records have since been made classified or were destroyed due to 'varying circumstances', including the arrests made and any evidence found on the premise.[break]
On that night 13 years ago...Aya Harper was both saved by and lost her father Piers Harper in the chaos. She and the other survivors were immediately taken in by the Hoenn League's witness protection program and their identities were changed.[break]
Aya's name was changed to Shion Uehara upon adoption. The Uehara family, except for her adoptive aunt, moved on Kalos to start over and distance themselves from the event.[break]
Shion was never able to let go.[break]

Shion Uehara, born in Hoenn, raised in Kalos. Is 5”3 ( 160 cm ) and weighs 114 lbs (51 kg).Currently lives with her aunt Umi-Gura Ward Caretaker Mao Uehara (38) and her younger sister Umeko Uehara (18) in Lilycove. Personality Profile Based On Investigation: Shion can be a bit difficult. Often distrusting and cynical, she tends to have a ‘guilty until proven innocent’ outlook with most people. Follow this up with a no-nonsense demeanor and poorly filtered blunt personality and it becomes easy to understand why most tend to leave her alone.[break]
Get to know her and things start to make more sense. She’s afraid of allowing people to get close. Having lost more than she’d like to think about and been betrayed and mistreated most of her life, her walls have been built high and her tolerance has worn thin.[break]
Though after a while, one might learn that Shion is one of the most loyal, empathetic, and conscientious people one could meet. Though she may not have a heart of gold, she’ll die before she gives up on another person without due cause. If it’s possible to save a person and survive, she’ll do everything in her power to make it so. [break][break]

POINTS OF INTEREST FOR THE LEAGUE FACTION

Originally entered the Kalosian Police Academy to later be transferred to Hoenn's on strong merits and fantastic sniper marksmanship. Aspires to become a detective one day, so she's began classes to obtain her Criminal Justice degree and has begun field work for the League to build toward her aspirations.[break]
Although extremely by the book when acting as a League Officer Cadet, she has issues with authority and tends to be very distrusting. Usually this is remedied when approached by people she admires or has shown her quickly that they're worthy to be followed. Telling her *why* a thing must be done tends to satisfy her as long as it makes sense.[break]
Her patrol area is primarily in Lilycove, but she's shown willingness to travel the whole of Hoenn. She appears extremely eager to not only prove herself, but put her skills to work where they are needed.[break]
She has an eye for conspiracy and has taken it upon herself to volunteer for many different investigative operations for the sake of building her skills as a future investigator and she's persistent.

POINTS OF INTEREST FOR TEAM ROCKET FACTION

Those that might have been aware of the operations deeply invested in the cult organization 'The Children of the Dark'. Might be aware of the following :[break]
Shion Uehara's actual name is Aya Shirai-Harper and her mother, Emi Shirai was one of faces of the business side of the organization. Emi Shirai and others assisted in various crimes such as drug trafficking, racketeering, and extortion. Shirai, however, wound up double crossing the CotD cult and by extention Old Rocket's underlying operatives that kept the cult funded by quietly funneling information to Pier Harper, her husband outside. This eventually lead to a raid.[break]
There is suspicion that Shion has access to various old ledgers and other information that could associate various old underbosses with the cult 13 years ago.[break]
On the other end under an alias, Shion has began communicating with various 'soft targets' to ingratiate herself with the information brokering community. Although there she is only known as Glasswork and little information has been connected to that alias, some suspicions have arisen. Mostly because the name 'Glasswork' is very involved with the Grey Hat Hacking community and lately she's been leaning very White Hat.[break][break]

PRIVATE KNOWLEDGE

PERSONAL SECRETS

Shion was once handled by Hoenn's witness protection program. Later this enabled her to change her name and move to Kalos for a fresh start. There are rumors that she used to be related to a detective of note, Piers Harper, but her files say nothing of the sort. They appear to be intensely classified on need-to-know basis.[break]
Like all protected entities under the Hoenn League's protection programs, she's been subsidized for therapy and has been attending consistently. Although her patient files aren't easily accessible, they can be accessed under very specific criteria. Usually her superiors have a 'light' idea of her story.[break]
Her favorite things include : Fidget toys, birds, EDM ( Electronic Dance Music ), and photography. She also has taken up lock picking as a hobby and has a deep love for technology that can get to be a little obsessive.[break]
She's fascinated by the supernatural, studies cults, and has a deep interest in the unknown in general.[break]
She also has a strange love for closed in spaces and can be found in some of the most zany places when she'd depressed. The very few people who know how to find her are pretty much her best friends. [break]
Alternatively, she's mortally afraid of drowning to the point of her first Pokémon being a sobble to ensure *someone* can save her. She's very fixated on protecting her family and anyone she's mentally associated as such. This is to the point of throwing common sense away when the threat is in front of her.[break]
Using the online alias Glasswork, she's made a name for herself as a Grey Hat hacker that often deals in information brokering. Chances are if there's something to sniff out, she'll have already made moves to sniff it out. If she hasn't, she'll be very interested to offer her services as pay for the information or to assist in uncovering mysteries what need uncovering.[break][break]
