Situated on the fifth floor of Casino Starlight, Yumi's office was decorated to evoke the ambience of a traditional Japanese tea house.[break][break]

Delicate paintings and scrolls bearing beautiful calligraphy adorned walls of dark wood. A bonsai tree sat at a corner of her desk, while a ceramic tea set painted with a minimalist wave pattern graced the center of a table surrounded by low, cushioned seats.[break][break]

Neither the tea set nor the table were in use at the moment, however. Instead, Yumi sat at her desk, signing off on the booking of her casino for a winter sports event. Imagining how odd it would be to see guests carrying skis and snowboards through the halls brought an amused smile to her lips.[break][break]

A knock at the door drew her out of her thoughts. Her Liepard, curled up at the side of her desk, raised his head. "What is it?"[break][break]

Her assistant peered inside. "A woman named Kuroha Kazumi is here to see you, Miss Hasegawa. She says she knows Hitoshi."[break][break]

Yumi arched an eyebrow at the unfamiliar name. "Thank you. You can let her in."

The woman does not await the invitation of the lesser of two women, bristling with an intensity that causes the maid to recoil out of the way as she steps inside. [break][break]

Sharp, deep blue eyes as the sea look upon the room with the intensity of an apex predator, confidence befitting a she-wolf. Harsh, deliberate discipline in every step, she makes her way to the center of the room posthaste and looks the woman in the eyes. [break][break]

For a moment there is tension in her expression, the faintest glimmer of hostility as if grappling with a sudden major disappointment.[break][break]

And then she bows deeply.[break][break]

"Hasegawa-sama. [break][break]

"I apologize. It seems that I have been misinformed. Hitoshi Inoue 's lack of eloquence has done you a great disservice. I was not prepared, for you are far more beautiful than he was able to convey."[break][break]

She does not rise from her bow, awaiting permission from the woman behind the desk. [break][break]

Listening intently for any response at all, her hands clench into fists, teeth grinding against one another. This humiliation does not befit her station. [break][break]

Had she known the opulence that this woman surrounded herself with, she would have attempted to present herself accordingly. There was little she could do now to suit her brutish appearance. [break][break]

"Kuroha-san," Yumi greeted in kind, arching an eyebrow at the apology. "I don't see a need for you to apologize. It is not your fault Hitoshi's tongue is not as refined as others'. That is not what I need him for, after all." [break][break]

The sword strapped to the other woman's hip had not escaped her notice. But she ignored it for the time being, instead gesturing to a chair opposite her desk. [break][break]

"Please sit." [break][break]

After shuffling the papers in front of her into a neat pile and setting them aside, Yumi leaned onto her elbows and laced her fingers together, tucking them under her chin. Her lips curled up into a curious, amused smile. [break][break]

"Now, what brings you to my office?"
