he faces off against another match. both of them stand by opposite ends of the field, leaving their pokemon at the center.

"hello, hello, mister." he lets his opponent introduce themselves. "call me mister conrad. feel free to add a few nice, positive adjectives to my name, cause they're probably true."

the fantastic mister conrad does sound nice to the ears, as well as true.

his espeon yawns as it prepares for yet another tedious task. the sync from its trainer's sygna suit doesn't seem to alleviate its mood.

ever so courteous, priam acknowledges his opponent's wishes. they can make it quick as long as they keep it simple, he believes, and that's what he's going to do.

the espeon starts off with the only opener they've been doing the entire day, which is to spray the bird with coins using pay day.

the tailwind would've blown the coins away, if they weren't coins. they probably weigh more than enough to withstand it, so it's probably more to help it than hinder them.

another pay day is thrown at the bird.

coins start pouring relentlessly at the talonflmae once more. they weren't comparable to what a gholdengo can do, but they're still a handful of small, hefty metals chucked at the bird.

it powers through the coins like no other. as expected from one of the large birds of kalos.

his espeon wouldn't let it stop him though. despite being limited to only one move throughout the tournament by its trainer, it will still use whatever it can to at least make the fight close.

another jet of coins pelt the talonflame as it closes in, trying to deter the hit, but momentum has already set and it knocks the espeon aside.

he catches the other trainer's eye and smiles back. he picks a coin up and tosses it up in the air before pocketing them in front of him, informing him of his intent.

even though they know what priam wants, it's not going to change how they act since they only have one move in this competition.

the espeon gets up and faces the talonflame once more, spraying coins with pay day at the bird as it charges right towards the espeon with flame charge.

it was pocket change, but it all adds up. priam starts collecting the coins from the edges of the fight while his espeon forces itself to print more out.

the talonflame goes for an acrobatic move, making it difficult for the espeon to aim its stream of coins with pay day. still, it does its best.

it points upwards and shoots out its attack at the talonflame, leaving the match's result up to gravity on whether or not the earth's pull takes the coins back to the ground or not.

wings clash against the coins, and since the attack technically hit the talonflame first, regardless of whether it was effective or not, the point counts for them.

the vital gear registers two vitals for priam after the technical win.

it wasn't like that was the objective though. he leans on the ground and starts picking up the coins like a gremlin.

once the trainer takes the attention back to them, priam lifts his head up and smiles. "good match, brother."
