Shit he was sleepy. He had decided to help a buddy out and watch their kids why he and his partner went on their date night or whatever married people did. It wasn’t so bad at first, the children asked to eat and he just tossed them some snacks. Apparently sugar was bad for small Pokemon and children but he didn’t notice much. [break][break]

The kids were all over the place, seeming to bounce all over the place. Here and there, drawing on the wall, throwing things, Caius was messing up bad but he was so sleepy. Sitting on a couch in the midst of the chaos he yawned and whipped out his phone punching in a bunch of numbers and unknowingly texting a random number. [break][break]

The text was simple, ‘ey come to this address and help me watch these kids real quick. ez $$$’ with that hopefully someone would pick up and give him a hand here. [break][break]

Avery had received a rather strange and out-of-the-blue text message from a random number. While she wasn't the type to answer such things, especially when the text was so cryptic and odd, offering money for watching kids, she had shrugged herself out of her comfort zone. [break][break]

She sent him back a brief text indicating he had the wrong number but she would stop by anyway, y'know, just to make sure that nothing bad was happening to the kids and everyone was safe.[break][break]

It didn't take her long to arrive, thankfully, the address was just down the street really from where she had been having dinner.[break][break]

With a few quiet raps at the door, she'd stand outside awkwardly, waiting for whoever it was to answer.

He’d get up and answer the door. They weren’t what he was expecting but they were what he needed, “Ey, you the help?” he asked, he didn’t know what else to call them. If they could handle these kids while he dozed off that’s all that matters. Standing out of the way of the door he’d gesture them in with a waft of his hand, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.

“So, I gave them some candy but for some reason they’re a bit jittery upstairs. Think you can reign em in for me? I’ll be around to help, but you know. I should clean up down here.” there was sleep in his voice, just as it was in his eyes. That said, he’d wait for his partner to respond and if they accepted the task he’d begin cleaning up.

Avery couldn't help but smile sympathetically at the man that opens the door. She can see how tired he is, how relieved he is to see her. [break][break]

"I'm the wrong number you texted, yes. My name's Avery."[break][break]

He gestures her to come inside and she does, taking care to take her shoes off and hand up her coat, but she carries her purse inside with her as she makes her way inside. From where she stood she can hear the sound of giggling, sugar-high children and she giggles.[break][break]

"Candy was probably not the best idea, but I'm sure you're like a hero to them now."[break][break]

The man mentions a mess and she takes a quick scope around the room to see that yes, indeed, there is quite the mess to clean. [break][break]

"Sure thing, I'll see if I can put them to bed."[break][break]

Avery releases a Pokemon from her purse, and a Lucario stands stoically and quietly at her side. The aura Pokemon glances at Caius but deems the man not threatening, and follows his trainer up the stairs to see the giddy, excited children who squeal at the very sight of her and her Pokemon, rushing to give them hugs.[break][break]

"Children are never shy, are they, Lucario?"
