It takes them by surprise, he hears the rustles in the leaves too late and his eyes snap to the source but don't have enough time to process before the light goes out.

Her stick is dim and she tries to light it again, the mystical fire that had been fueling it refusing to light and Evan bites his lip. He knows what sort of thing this means and it is never good. "Move." he tugs at her fur and the wood hammer comes while she desperately seeks for a fire that has always been her solace. "make a wall, force it back." she looks at him with panic in her eyes but she has seen his other pokemon do it, the activity takes focus but her psychic energies surface in the form of a blockade. She visualizes it moving, further and further back and it force the pokemon out of its hiding place and away.

"Future sight." he doesn't know just how strong she is but will determine it bit by bit as they go. The act of layering moves is something most of pokemon learn at some point or another, Evan is a fan of combining things to create effects that are of undeniable use in battle. The energies begin to swirl and as they reach their peak her wall wavers, but before the next attack can make contact the psychic powers hit and the pokemon falls to the snow.

Evan takes no interest in it, moving forward with a nudge at her side. They have more ground to cover and now they must stay closer to stay warm.

a beam of light goes up in the sky and the both of them stop to stare up as a small light show unleashes in the safari. It looks as of more than just one pokemon is getting into the spirit if the season in a way. Perhaps they can feel it if their human counterparts as they tredge through the safari seeking their marks. It's enough to make Evan grin.

He claps. As loud as he possibly can in hopes the pokemon respansible for the beam attacks in the sky will hear him and though she doesn't quite get what he's doing his pokemon reaches her paws up into the air to do the same. It's the least they can do.

Somewhere in the distance a voltorb grumbles against the praise, but accepts it none the less.

Her stick finally comes alight again and Evan claps for her too and she seems to take some sort of delight in it. Their little adventure seems to be doing well to stretch her horizons and he's glad he made the choice to bring her with him. The Delphox may soon become a favored member of his ever growing hoard. He never thought staying in one place could allow him to have so many.

He's on alert when a pokemon barrels through with a flame in a wheel fashion and they both part to make way for her it, the fox using her psychic to push him back fast enough to be missed by the fire. The two of them turn to spot the oddly colored pokemon come to a stop in front of them and wave as if this is some manner of hell

Neither of them is entirely expecting this, Evan laughs and the pokemon laughs back at him. He waves and it waves again. The fox is perplexed but allows the exchange until eEvan offers it the safari ball and it jumps in.

As the storm starts to pick up Evan makes the decision to double down on his pokemon, the Volcarona has been making a nest in the rooftops of the Stray for awhile after coming home with him during the bug contest. He doesn't take them with him often out of a preference to let them do as they please but with the unusual weather he has pulled his fire types out of the wood works to go with him.

The waves of heat are subtle but enough to keep them all comfortable through the falling snow and he's grateful for the bug's willingness to come along. They attract friends, other pokemon that are having a rough time in the snowfall and Evan allows them to travel beside them until they find shelter in the safari to keep them safe. They're no different than they are, simply trying to make due in the one thing the Safari doesn't have full control over: the weather.

A pineco takes shelter in a dense tree, finding it fitting compared to the warmth of his Volcarona and Delphox, and Evan gives a gentle wave as the leave the pokemon behind.

Evan decide it is time for a break. stopping for a moment with his pokemon beneath the cover of a cluster of trees. They are more than willing to stand near him and keep him warm against the wind as it picks up and they stay there awhile. Perhaps it would be best to go back? Evan decides against it, not until he and his pokemon are no longer able to best the blizzard. Pushing themselves to the limit has always been what made it possible for them to get through anything.

Besides, the snow fall stops after awhile and Evan sees a scattering of star shaped pokemon across the snow and smiles. It's an interesting sight to say the least and he enjoys it greatly. They wait awhile, admiring the pokemon as the stand from their spots of waiting and move slowly across the safari's terrains, the odd little pin points of foot prints they leave behind make an amusing pattern and Evan dances through them. There's a tune in his head as he find joy despite the weather, steps moving from one spot to another in the pattern of their steps.

He chuckles as his pokemon follow after him, a man charmed by nature.

Luckily the falling spikes never make it to the human the pokemon surround, the psychic type putting up a physical barrier to hinder their fall from the tree tops before they can make it to them. Evan looks up into the trees, tracking the rustling more out of curiosity than anything. The pokemon is snickering from above, amused by it's own trick of waiting for an unsuspecting victim to its attack.

Evan does not get the chance to commend the pokemon for a well executed surprise attack even if it didn't connect. Had he been with a different type of pokemon it might have.

Regardless, he has a feeling the pokemon might not really need to be told.

The color almost blends into the snow bank it is huddled in and Evan nearly misses it. The blue is bright but fades into the white of the snow storm well enough for anyone to miss if they aren't looking for it. He keeps his eyes on it only because it does not match his usually recollection of the pokemon.

He gestures quietly to his fox and the flaming moth. The heat dissipates as they move closer, put on pause so as not to alert the pokemon tot heir presence. With a flick of his wrist and a look the two are fast at work, the heat wave from his volcarona disturbs it while the psychic power of his fox holds it in place, forcing it to be worn down with little option to retaliate while he throw the safari ball.

Evan has little interest in such pokemon but usually others do.
