Steelix shifts her massive form to reveal a much smaller steel-type, and Gavin's eyes glint from behind his glasses. It resembled something he knew to be in high demand for the Black Market, and that was more than enough to distract him from the reason he'd been here.

"Outlast it," he orders. "Minimal damage."

He couldn't exactly sell a cripple to the Market, after all.

Gavin pulls up his jacket to shield himself from the sandstorm that begins to rage in the area. Where the Bisharp had previously squared off against its larger foe without fear, the scientist notices the Pokemon falter at the onslaught of sand.

Having been ordered to outlast her foe, Steelix digs herself beneath the earth, and waits.

When it looks as though the Bisharp might give up and flee, Gavin whistles to his Pokemon. She erupts from the earth and slams into the dual-type with a stone edge, knocking it off balance. It does not get back up.

Giving a nod of approval as the last grains of sand settle upon the earth, Gavin tosses a ball.
