Barely had he enough time to be called back to the entrance, Alexei was slapping down more bills on the counter. He knew he already had four new Eevees, sure, but… if he did his math right, he was still short one last one! He knew that there were signs of fatigue already setting in, but he decided to grin and bear the pain.

Even if it was already early afternoon when he was called back to the front gate, he was determined not to leave the place until he got the rest of the Pokémon he had skipped over due to him wanting to complete all the Eeveelutions. Thank hell he already had three to begin with, plus the four he had caught earlier.

Once the four Safari Balls were rolled his way, he quickly scooped them up and went through security check, back out into the wilderness.

Only one more Eevee… and then I can get all the other ones I missed! Good grief, that was terrible, having to skip so many other Pokémon just for an Eevee… but I am so glad I only need one this time around! He thought as he went a different way this time, hoping that the other side of the Safari Zone had what he was looking for.

The first thing he encountered is a Budew—unlike the one he met earlier, this one was tending a patch of tiny pink flowers in a clearing.

Unable to stop himself from squeaking, he took out his phone and filmed another short video before sending it off to Florian Laurel with another caption, ‘I found another one, don’t you think they look pretty? Tending to the flowers and all that’ before sending it off to his intended recipient.

Hoping that this was a good sign of things to come, he left the Budew to its own devices and continued searching the area.

While not explicitly on the lookout for an Eevee, he still needed one more—but then there was the concern of hopefully finding the other three he had skipped over earlier this time around!

The next encounter was something familiar. All too familiar, to be honest.

Blinking, he discreetly pointed his phone at the male Meowstic that was looking at him before snapping a picture and sending it to Ruby Walker with a caption, 'They keep finding me, I don't know why! It's like they know I'm going to tell you,' before sendong the image to her.

Hopefully she was having better luck than he was when it came to looking for the Pokémon that she wanted! Bowing a little in the blue Meowstic's direction, he then walked around the Meowstic before continuing deeper into the Safari Zone.

There was this sense of déjà vu all over again, as a white-colored Meowstic showed up not too long after the blue one did!

What was up with them?!

"They keep flinging themselves at me. But why?" Alexei pondered out loud. Keeping his eyes on the white Meowstic, he followed its tracks and saw that it was wandering after the blue one. Were they siblings, or mates? He did not know.

Either way, he snapped a picture of the two and sent it to Ruby Walker with the caption, 'They keep chasing after me! I don't know why.'

What could this mean?

Thankfully, the last Eevee he needed would literally come prancing along the way, chasing its bottle brush tail around in crazy circles.

Alexei could only blink and watch it in utter confusion, wondering if this Normal-type had lost its mind. Chuckling softly, he continued to keep an eye on the spazzing actions that this Eevee was up to—he was pretty certain this one would get along fantastically with his Sylveon.

It didn’t take too long for the Eevee to stop chasing its tail and totter over exhausted, passing out and curling up for a nap right in the clearing where he had spotted it.

The chance was… it was too easy! He was sure there was something else involved here… hopefully his instincts were wrong. As the Eevee settled down for a nap, he pondered how best to capture it…

…and the answer showed itself in his faithful Ribombee once again. Grinning, he sent out Carina, before making her go over to where the sleeping Eevee was and quietly instructing it to make as many Pollen Puffs as she could manage. While there was a look of complaint that flashed on her face, she shrugged and quietly agreed to do so, hovering over and making a neat little stack of a dozen yellow, sweet Pollen Puffs.

Around thirty minutes would pass, and then the Eevee stirred to the smell of something… delicious. Seeing the literal pile of Pollen Puffs in front of him, he quickly attacked the entire spread, letting out a burp once he was done… before a beam of red light absorbed him into this strange void.

Whoops.

Once the Safari Ball dinged shut and announced its capture, a strange fluttering noise caught Alexei's attention. Looking up, he spied a Woobat skirting through the trees not to far overhead.

And it begins again, he thought with an idle little smirk on his face. Leaving the Woobat be, he continued deeper into the Safari Zone.

He didn't know if the Safari Zone allowed people to wander through its expanse in the evenings... and he had no desire to find out!

Alexei almost stepped on the next Pokémon that he would encounter, had it not been for the shrieking noise that caught his attention. That, and a sudden pelting of rocks that would clatter harmlessly around him.

“Wha—whoa!” he yelped, jumping backwards as another apple-like Pokémon started firing out what he surmised were Rollout attacks trying to drive him back. Of course he wasn’t going to be cowed by something like that.

…even if he didn’t want to, he had to use the one Pokémon he had on him that knew Flamethrower in order to make sure that this fruit Pokémon learned its place. Popping a battered Moon Ball to full size, he flicked it forward and watches as his Salamence unfurl from the beam of red light, roaring in an Intimidating fashion at the Applin.

“Make it stop! It’s pelting rocks at me!” he yelped again as more rocks came clattering his way. Inhaling, the Salamence then exhaled a controlled burst of Flamethrower, intent on wrapping the Applin in a tight circles as close as possible.

The heat was enough for the small fruit Pokémon to cry uncle, before a Safari Ball flashed through the vortex of flames—and the flames petered out as the Salamence cut off the heat once the Applin was absorbed into the flash of red light.
