The impact from the blast nearly knocks him back just like the last time. But he eagerly keeps his eyes on the field, hoping, praying, that their determination was enough to pull through the Z-MOVE.[break][break]
It wasn’t.[break][break]
On the edge of the ring static flies off Arcanine form as it stubbornly stumbles on it’s legs, about to collapse, but Toshiaki returns her to the pokeball before that can happen. They did better than the last time. She fought well. But still it wasn’t enough. He can't remember the last time he felt so frusterated...[break][break]
Despite the loss, there’s a fire in his eyes now — one that won’t be easily doused again. He grips Topaz's pokeball in hand, and makes his decree. [break][break]
“Don’t think this is over. Cause I’m comin’ to your gym either way and takin’ that badge eventually, you hear?!”[break][break]
Sadly, Toshiaki storms off before Josh can give him a handshake or much of a real response. [break][break]

Fire gathers in the soles of Arcanine’s feet, using the flames from previous RAGING FURY as turbulence to quickly propel her forward. All that’s seen in the field is a flash of lightning, a comet soaring entirely earthbound. Igniting a last-ditch FLARE BLITZ, Topaz flies to the center of the field expecting the two to collide. A flame that can't be easily extinguished. That’s what he always wanted Arcanine to be, and after this match, he can see that their training has truly paid off. Much like a dog would, Arcanine shakes the excess water out of her fur as the static clinging to it also dies out.[break][break]

They weren’t the fastest. But they had endurance. However every Pokemon had their limits. He didn’t want Arcanine’s flame to extinguish just yet. This isn’t the end![break][break]

Howling loudly for all to hear, Arcanine combusts into flames — a ring of fire below it's feet. If Zeraora made contact with its back then he’d be met by nasty burns, hopefully, deterring from a complete cling-on. Or if not, they’ll just have to haze him out![break][break]

That was a hit for sure. Nearly sent them out of bounds, but they’re still standing! But Zeraora was caught in the middle, eerily circling them like a vulture. Who was really trapped here, though? As the ELECTRO BALLS come they resort to the same strategy as before, projectile FLAMETHROWERS to counteract the onslaught. [break][break]

Smoke is in the air from that last attack and Toshiaki instinctively clenches his fists, golden eyes eerily focused on the arena, like a predator locked onto its prey. He’s in the zone now. A good strong start, but could they keep the momentum up? Paws press firmly into the pavement as Arcanine huffs smoke, awaiting her next orders. Quick they come.[break][break]
“Fight fire with fire, FLARE BLITZ!”[break][break]
As Zeraora leaps to dig its deadly claws in, electrical and fire currents run wild in the canine’s fur. Instead of out-right dodging, Topaz swerves preparing to take the full hit in FLARE BLITZ mode, as if wanting the two elements to merge and combust.[break][break]

The buzzer sounds and already both Pokemon assume their battle positions. Toshiaki wastes no time in activating the TERA ORB, engulfing the Arcanine in a mysterious electric glow, effectively changing her typeage. While this was his only battle strategy, that didn’t mean he couldn’t execute it in different ways. He’s still full of surprises.[break][break]
“Charge forward and hit em’ with a bunch of Flamethrowers!”[break][break]
She immediately utilizes her speed right off the bat, shooting quirk bursts of FLAMETHROWERS aimed directly at the Zeraora. They were almost like bullets of fire. [break][break]

There’s damage to the Beedrill but it’s not enough. He felt it now. The pressure’s on! But what a sight mega evolution is to behold. He never tires of seeing the magical phenomenon happen in other Pokemon. The winds from TAILWIND feel like razor blades against her fur, but Arcanine refuses to give up![break][break]
Despite her burning determination, there’s not much she can do except hurl another FLAMETHROWER the flying bug type’s way. [break][break]

The barrage of TWINEEDLE was painful to watch. Almost as if Arcanine had no reprieve for a counterattack while poison slowly enters her veins, slowing down the canine. From the sidelines Toshiaki looks nervous, but a quick double slap to his cheeks does well in grounding him. The flames from RAGING FURY didn’t work well for a shield, but it kept her rage intact. [break][break]
“Get closer and try to counter with Flamethrower!”[break][break]
No need to tell her twice. Glaring daggers, the Arcanine counteracts by blasting several rounds of FLAMETHROWER the pesky Beedrill’s way, hoping for one of them to hit to close the distance.[break][break]

For as long as Toshiaki could remember he’s always been a risk taker to accomplish what he wants. Even as the Pikachu begins to tower over them he feels not fear, but a rushing sensation of excitement. It’s now or never! Water floods and crashes down onto the arena, headed straight for Arcanine. It hits her paws and nearly topples her over but the canine Pokemon stands strong. RAGING FURY continues it’s assault as Arcanine pushes past the waves with all her might. But she struggles. Time to think fast![break][break]
“Aim a flamethrower right at it!”[break][break]
Opening her jaw flames immediately erupt as a beam of fire targets the Dynamax Pikachu, hoping to take it out in one final hit with this desperate FLAMETHROWER.[break][break]
