Slumped over a chair, this tournament was getting exhausting. Law was still raring to go, wanting more experience, more fights. He took every loss as a means to do more workouts, now at forty pounds on his little Kubfu body. Ashley can't believe just a year ago, he went to the gym a lot too.[break][break]

Yeesh.[break][break]

With a sigh, Ashley enjoyed his warm coffee, when Law spotted a passerby on the streets. This was their angle, streetside brawls. But as the little Kubfu lets go of the weights, he races up towards them, waving. Ashley, not forced into this position, gets up and uses his cane to steady himself.[break][break]

"Hey... you up for a battle? You don't have to, if you don't want to. Law just has been loving the thrill of battle." The Kubfu's eyes are starry, as his sheepish trainer is trying to reign in the reality of the situation. He just wanted to enjoy his coffee.[break][break]

His first Pokémon tournament was turning out to be eventful. It was nothing like the gym challenges he’s faced before in the past. A totally different experience. Currently he takes a small break from all the action with Arcanine, who’s been fighting hard and looking tough. As he finishes brushing up her shiny yellow fur, a trainer approaches them. Toshiaki smiles, failing to read the trainer’s mood and marching their Pokemon’s enthusiasm. “Yeah, dude! We just got back from a small walk. So we’re itchin’ for a battle. Let’s go!”

Blink. Oh.... great, he's a sweet guy. 'Crap'. Now there was no backing out. And as Ash rubs the back of his head, he just sighs. "Sounds peachy." He can't help but feel the small bit of sweat dripping down his neck. Oh, how he didn't want to do this.[break][break]

As they find a nice little park to have the battle in, Ash turns on a heel as he looks over his shoulder. "Alright man, good luck." He tries to be nice, despite the fact that he needs his cane to walk.[break][break]

The moment the battle begins, Law smashes a paw into the ground, making a tiny crater, before leaping forward with everything he has. "Focus and strike." Ash calls out, before the Kubfu utilizes FOCUS ENERGY, immediately followed by AERIAL ACE![break][break]

And the strong blast of a FLAMETHROWER is enough for Ash to worry for the little bear, only for the Kubfu to land sideways, on a paw. Those burns really sucked, but with a twist of the body, Law throws in an IRON HEAD back, trying to dish back the pain![break][break]

IRON HEAD is a nasty move, but Arcanine is quick to recover from the recoil. Through the onslaught of flames Kubfu rises but Topaz is hot on his trail. As payback for the IRON HEAD she gets ready to fight back with an extra powerful WILD CHARGE.[break][break]

YEE. The IRON HEAD finds purchase, and soon after is dealt back with the WILD CHARGE, and it was clear which one of them took the nastier strike. Though Ash knew that the little bear had more fight in him.[break][break]

Topaz found great joy in fighting with the feisty warrior. He didn’t go down easy, that was for sure. Shaking off the recoil she suffered, regardless of the COUNTER in place she’s willing to break through it.[break][break]

Law is not doing so hot... but still, as the FLAMETHROWER hits, the Kubfu can only just barely get off a DETECT to tank his way through it. But with it, his knee hits the floor. The Kubfu holding himself up by willpower.[break][break]

And that was that. Match set. "Wow. That... happened." Ash is a little stunned himself... but as he turns to Toshiaki, he just smiles. "Good match."[break][break]

Law was getting ice cream after this. He was looking awful pouty...
