"Menacing, but I know how to hide when I don't want to be found." That wasn't necessarily the point he was going for. Mostly, he didn't actually care. If the old bags wanted to seek him out, she was welcome to bust her old knees trying. There was humor in that. In reality, he didn't mix well with old blood, especially from their family.

The only thing he did well was start fires and never put them out. If anything, granny shanks would end up murdering him for the insult of irritating her. Could he risk that? As their food was set down, he decided he'd rather eat than answer her question.

Sen offered her a grated look through a mouthful of noodles. "Yeah because that is totally out of the realm of possibility with our family." He gave a one armed shrug, "Fine, send the crone my way and I'll try to be cordial."

"I'm sure the person she killed would think... differently." Not that he was a beacon of morality. Quite the opposite. Sure, his crimes circled around cyber-theft and not putting on enough clothes in public, but did that really make him all that better? Probably not. Still had never killed anyone, yet. That wasn't worth adding, of course.

Despite that, he still shrugged. "Granny sounds badass then." Sen cringed at that though, she wanted to meet him? "That sounds like a bad idea, considering I generally provoke normal people to consider murder, let alone an actual murderer."

He ordered the item with the most amount of chili peppers to indicate the heat level and nursed his head of its residual hangover. "So I guess I can't like call out. 'Sorry Granny Shanks, I've got an appointment'. Although... maybe someone will finally appreciate my shining police record." Not likely.

He snorted, knowing he would never be lucky enough to witness it if that ever happened. Yumi kept her shit on lockdown. It was no surprise that when he fucked up, his father would tell him to be more like her. Of course, it had a great way of breeding disdain rather than likeness. He had somewhat defrosted a little on any ill-feelings.

It helped that unfortunately he owed his entire livelihood to his cousin and she wasn't about to let him forget that. His failure was allowing it to happen and being too much of a fuck up to change it.

The walk was a little grueling, to be honest, but he made it a point not to complain.

"So let me get this straight... that old bag gets let out of jail after fifty years and you look at me with that expression after fifteen minutes in detention? I'm feeling unfairly judged." Humor had often been a way of skirting uncomfortable topics. He didn't know this lady so it didn't frankly matter to him. It wasn't like he was gonna go calling her granny or anything.

"So have you met her? Does she have like prison tattoos or something? That'd be dope."

The timing could not have been better, which was so annoyingly like Yumi Hasegawa . She was perfect. Every second of every day, scraping him up like a piece of shit on the bottom of her immaculate heels. It wasn't like he was complaining, considering he was two seconds from a black eye. Everyone would agree that a pretty face like his didn't deserve that.

The fluorescents flickered, reminding him of the hangover still pulsing behind his eyes.

Sen thumbed the sunglasses over his eyes after they were promptly returned to him, along with the empty billfold and his watch. "I'm still hungover, can we keep the judgment to a low. It's really negatively affecting my mental state." He was full of shit, of course. "You should try it though, Yu, live a little. You're always so serious."

Admittedly, he was a little suspicious of how easy this had turned out. No consequences? That happened to be exactly how he liked it, which was never how it turned out. "I'm lucky to have you, dear sweet cousin." Might as well kiss ass while he was ahead. "This traumatic experience has made me hungry."

He wouldn't bother pretending that Em was somehow pleased to see him. That wasn't the manner of their convoluted relationship, if that word could even be extended that far. They were generally messy, but at least they were never boring. As loathed as Em was to see him, Sen was pleased to say the least. His night would not be boring.

"Nothing, it's hot." He shrugged, admitting quickly. Sen wasn't the type to mince words unless there were simpler ones to get to the intended point. "A trash hermit like you... just wasn't expecting it is all." Dressing skimpy wasn't something he expected, but he was pleasantly surprised.

Sen smiled at that, "It's done the job and had the intended affect clearly." As long as Em continued to stare at him like that, it felt worth degrading himself a little. Not that he would feel even slightly degraded regardless of what he did or didn't wear that night.

That sweet little sound was like music to his ears. He smiled something wicked and resisted every urge to push his luck. It wouldn't do well to push until he regretted his decision. Emerson was clearly a capable hacker. Maybe even a little better than Sen, just a tiny bit. Totally insubstantially small level of skill. Not that it mattered. He liked having the power in... other regards.

He held the phone away from his ear to make distance between him and the well-timed screech on the other end. "Okay, well not prison exactly. It's grimy and everyone smells like piss and I don't like it." There used to be benefits to his name. He could simply name himself and no cop would dare arrest him no matter how stupid his actions might have been. Then again, he never truly got off scot-free. Prison might have been a kindness in comparison to what his father used to call him or how much nagging he was about to get from Yumi.

Sen laughed, "Oh it was silly really. A big misunderstanding, really. I mean it." Even as he said it, he grimaced. It was over-played. He needed to work on his acting skills, but it had been awhile since he'd done anything quite like this. No one believed him anyways.

"It was just a little miscommunication. I wouldn't even call it a fight or anything. A... skirmish.. that's the word." Drunk and disorderly, resisting arrest, public indecency. That wasn't so bad right? Barely a misdemeanor. "Slate city, lower district I guess."

Over his shoulder, he spied the other guy who was completely at fault for all of this and gave him a kind little birdy. Said angry little man started shouting at him from the holding cell.

"Anyways..." The line was dead. "She hung up on me... rude."

Sen looked back to the officer and then to the holding cell. "Shit, I don't have to go back in there do I?"

How humiliating was this?

It was worse enough that he had to call Yumi for help... she had to go and pick up the phone like this. He almost wished she had ignored him. Let him rot, right? He grit his teeth, sucking in a breath. It wasn't like he hadn't dealt with humiliation before. Some might even argue he had a thing for it.

So, really, he should just get this over with.

"Uhhh no I can't... I can't corviknight taxi my way out of this." Maybe he could just give her the address and let her figure it out on the way. At least then he could be saved from what had to be the most excruciating preach of his life.

Things might have gotten… out of hand.

Even Sen, with all of his brilliant ideas, was prone to one or two bad ones. Sometimes, things just happened and, really, there was no one person to blame at the time. He might have been a little sloppy drunk, but he was still a gentleman. If someone took his flirting wrong and decided to be jealous because he could pick up their partner with relative ease… that really wasn’t his fault. It also wasn’t his fault that he tried to do it with some apparent big wig’s wife.

Trying to evade arrest might have been his fault. Maybe the police officer’s fault too, just a little bit.

He slunk back in the cell, outputting the most pathetic sigh. “He threw the first punch, why am I paying for it?” Clearly, it was self-defense.

Luckily, he got his phone-call, but he loathed the conversation that would soon follow. The last thing he wanted to do was go groveling to Yumi Hasegawa .

“Hey so uh… don’t be mad, I need you to pick me up. Bring your wallet, please?”

The smell of body odor and cheap booze aside, Sen loved parties. He didn't even need an excuse to show up. Of course, he hadn't known about the party until the time of and he had floundered to find any appropriately holiday-themed costume to wear to it. Albeit, it was cold enough that he was regretting just wearing a tie without a shirt. "God's greatest gift" was a cheesy costume, but he did not really care.

The intent was really the same regardless. No one was there to look chaste for the holidays and they all had the same thing in mind for it. He was not opposed to skimpy dancing, drinks, and certainly not to free food. However, he'd not expected the red-head to be there. It was barely a glimpse. Maybe his brain was wired to pick him out of a crowd.

The best thing he could've done right then was to keep on walking. There were better things to do and certainly better people. Though, even with that thought, he faltered in his stride and stepped back until he could catch a better look of the little gremlin. Em was hunkered over the snack table, clearly trying to purposefully overlook the glaring headache in the room (that being him, of course).

By this point, after multiple annoyances caused by this bastard, the last thing he should have been doing was provoking him. Sen liked to think himself capable in hacking, but admittedly Em was better. He knew it, even if he'd be damned before he ever admit to it. Sure, he was sneakier in the end, but that only went so far. He was practically begging to get fucked over, and not in a good way.

But he was addicted to the opportunity that this shitstorm had brought him. It gave him an excuse to pester the other, even if it bit him in the ass in the end. Even more so, he liked seeing that crimson blush on the other's face, matching that scarlet hair.

"Well you put enough effort into it, I'm sure you can make me shut up." He shrugged. Though that was a big no go. No matter how much he might have liked to repeat that mistake, it would only lead to a much bigger mistake.

Seeing emerson steadily grow unhinged was a pleasure in its own right. Maybe Sen was being a little cruel at this point. It was almost too easy, so it hardly felt like sport. It felt like playing games. Sure, Emerson had done enough to make his life hell in the past, what with the routine break-ins and cyber-attacks. It had been annoying, but this felt somehow more personal.

After all, he had seen the other in an entirely different light. It definitely would have been better if Em was just some other greasy computer nerd. He had to go and be hot while also being fucking annoying. Granted, in person without bias, he'd not been too terrible. It was almost funny that Sen could drive anyone insane, just by knowing his online presence. For a moment though, they'd gotten along. Sure, it just was a hookup, but it was a good one.

"I mean, you have proven in the past to be fairly good at hacking. So, really, I wouldn't be so surprised if that turned to real life stalking. I'd be fucking flattered though, really." He teased, relentless as always.

Somehow, this was just getting better and better. He had to mentally check if it was actually his birthday or not. It was not, but it might as well have been. There was a certain kind of power in this situation, not that he was going to be overt in his attempt to exact it. There was a boundary that even he hesitated to make, even with this brat.
