the impending gym battle did not break his nerve, though it did remind goro of his pokemon's train - or lack there of. so they took to the streets and alleyways to find some lost soul to bully. goro had a forty in one hand and bag f chips in the other as his pokemon tottered along behind him. saint vincent was wrapped snuggly around his neck while the trio of pink and white pokemon searched for their next victim.

goro watched the scene unfold as if it were in a movie: the climax of an action movie, where the fight happened in slow motion and dark tidings followed. he saw that tentacle whip back like a palm tree in the wind, he saw it enwrap itself around his swoobat, he saw the poison leak out and engulf the bat creature. he barely even noticed his flygon absolutely destroy the other tentacle. goro knew what was coming and his neutral expression deepened into a grimace. there was little he could, even now the acidic venom had began to melt the swoobat's wings, and so he gave a final command. "endeavor." he barked, his voice raw with emotion.

ricky had foreseen his own death whilst peering into the future. it had been a possibility, a very likely one from the way the future sight recoiled, but he had come to terms with it. his master knew best, it was that faith and love that allowed the swoobat to ENDEAVOR - a white light surrounded the pokemon as it wriggled within the grasp of the monster.

eyes downcast, goro called out to freddie who had been darting through the trees and avoiding attacks. his voice was thin and carried by the wind as he uttered, "fire hydrant." from the cover of a tree a tremendous HYDRO PUMP blasted the stump his flygon had just wrecked. the dragon type had retreated from the danger zone and was now flying just out of reach of the tentacles resting after its powerful attack.

goro winced as he watched the acid of the monster burn through his dodrio’s feathers and flesh alike. ”fighting and grass seem to be doing the job... maybe it’s a rock type?” he questioned aloud hoping of one of the others would pick up on the clues. meanwhile, the rocket recalled the three headed bird with a flash of red light it was safe in its pokeball.

as the earthquake rumbled goro produced another pokeball to release his flygon, solange. ”ricky, give ‘em a kiss. solange rock this thing’s world.” he ordered to the two pokémon flying in the air. the swoobat released a powerful HEART STAMP at the nearest tentacle while the flygon unleashed its SUPER POWER.

goro had to leave his drink![attr="id","pls"]


goro sighed, hanging up on his cell from the UNKNOWN number that had called him. it was sun-sun. or luna? he could never tell the two from one another over the phone. the boss wanted him for whatever reason, but so be it. he drained the last of his drink before leaving it at the table. "put it on my tab." goro mumbled as he stood, leaving the smilin' seadra without a smile of his own. he produced a pokeball from a pocket, and released the beast within: a bat dragon boombox pokemon. the noivern dipped its head towards goro, telepathically speaking to him, "we ride?" goro offered a grunt in response as he climbed his winged mount. "above the clouds and to the casino, charli." goro thought, and so she acted with a flap of her mighty wings. he hated gambling.

they arrived within a few minutes of departure and goro recalled the noivern in a flash of light as he entered. the familiar smell of nicotine and cheap booze hit him and goro wrinkled his nose. gross. luna and sun-sun were both waiting for him, escorting the violet haired man to the under levels. flashy, he thought, but well hidden. goro fell in behind @spade and simply stated, "what do you need." that was thing with rockets, they always needed something. not want, needed.

the ever changing threads of fate conjoined for only the briefest of moments; but in that blink of an eye ricky saw the horrors that would be inflected unto them and with those terrifying revelations, the psychic kickback sent the love bat flinching into goro's chest with an "Oomf!" from the dastardly disguiser. He patted the bat Pokemon, cooing, "there, there... we'll try again soon." his voice took on a more serious tone, akin to that of elijah even, as he barked orders. "katya, sword strike." the dodrio began to bob its heads this way and that, in a sword's dance before charging forward with its enhanced speed in a jump kick at the nearest tentacle.

"i think the garden boy has a point; we should focus on the tentacles before attacking the head... thing." goro added.

katya acted first, and fast. the three headed bird scrambled to its feet, and with its boosted speed, zipped behind goro to catch him as he was blasted back on his ass. "fuck." he grumbled, massaging his temples and once again dismounting from his stupid dodrio. his bird had been lucky compared to the others, and as a fairy fog spilled around their feet, an idea began to form. he unbuckled a pokeball and released ricky, his swoobat, in a flash of light. goro gave a nod to the bird and simply said, "dance." the three heads of the dodrio each wobbled off beat before getting in rhythm with one another and the swords dance began. "look out." goro called to the swoobat, and its eyes glittered with psychic energy as it used future sight to glimpse into the endless possibilities of fate.

with that done, goro took a couple of tentative steps away from the freakish beast, circling around through the grove of oran trees that occupied the route. both of his pokemon followed, staying within the security of the shadows the canopy provided. goro buzzed in via his earpiece with a frank tone, "prepare y'all. attacks are incoming and who knows what this thing will throw at us next."

the spark of hope was a flickering flame in the icy orbs that were goro's contacts. he offered sam a smile, a genuine one - not the foolish smirk most people received. "thank you." goro nearly hugged the man, but thought against it. he put the eternal flower behind his ear and cleared his throat, "now that we got that settled, let's talk about what we should do." goro's pokemon seemed relieved at his sudden shift in attitude and went along with it.

and why shouldn't they? he was being honest, mostly. there would be no revenge taken..

"defs not any kind hypnosis i've seen before." goro said with a bloop of his earpiece and the experience of one who made use of hypnosis often. he fucking hated weird ass pokemon, nearly as much as he hated legendary pokemon. did this one count as legendary? or a god. disgusting. he was riding on the back of his cracked out dodrio who had used agility to catch them up to speed. he unsaddled from the wryly beast as he approached the scene, squinting from his vantage point. lips pursed, he noted, "the... tentacles (?) sort of remind me of like that giant tentacruel that was all over the news a few months ago. it could be poisoning the scientists. or a poison type. iunno."

and that was about all he could say on the matter. his other pokemon were safe in their pokeballs and katya was nervously pecking at his other heads. goro sighed, at least they weren't being too loud.
