despite rocket being the biggest problem of the region there was never a shortage of small time petty crooks thinking they were just as bad as they were or wanted to make a name for themselves for rocket to come knocking on their door. whatever the reason they would all find out that while rocket had their claws almost everywhere that justice itself always had a way of showing up to ruin their day. in this case justice was in the form of the pokkenger who chased a thief through the street. his haul? a rare kind of gem from one of the many museums around the city, quite the priceless haul that could set him up for life if he managed to life a free one.

he was already well ahead of the masked hero who looked like he was slowing down with his pace. however the pokkenger was just giving him a false sense of victory as he raised a hand to cup over where his mouth would be. "he's headed your way balder!" sure enough the thief took one second to stop and look around for whoever the hero was talking about. at that moment the pokkenger sprinted forward and swiped the bag that he was carrying away from him. "yoink!"

As soon as the bag was "Yoink"-ed, a Charizard dropped from the sky, landing in front of the thief and emitting a massive roar. A bulky man disembarked from its back and proceeded to touch a sphere upon his necklace. "Time to transform, Blaze." A blinding light enveloped Charizard, expanding alongside the shape of the simili-dragon. As the light faded, a bigger Charizard with wings of fire stared at the thief.[break][break]

Mega Evolution. A phenomenon meant to allow pokemons to evolve beyond their limits, granting them even more power. And right now, it was... being used to scare a petty thief. Most likely he had shat his pants at this point too, since the Charizard face slithered to be in front of the scared boy, growling all the same.[break][break]

"I'd suggest not moving, else my lizard friend might take a bit of your little mug. Gotta say you're bold for thieving in broad daylight, especially in this area. Pokkenger, care to fill me in? Also, why did you call my name?" Was this all planned? The sudden drop of charizard, mega evolving and this small speech, all for a thievery? Perhaps...

"well for one thing The Sun Over Alola doesn't roll off the tongue, so i'm still workshopping a name for ya." the hero replied to the alolan's question about calling him by name as he hugged the bag containing the stolen property like it was a stolen baby. "maybe if we get you a nice suit it'll come to me. your kind of too unrecognizable y'know." the last sentence had a bit of playful teasing to it as he walked over to the thief and stood beside the charizard looming over him, not really even acknowledging how terrifying the fire dragon must look now that it had reached the zenith of its power.

then pokkenger squatted down in front of the cowering thief to get a better look at him. "as for our buddy here i'd say he tried to steal this for a large sum of money. maybe someone's willing to pay a good price to have it in their private collection, that or he'd ransom it off for some big money for its return. am I on the money?" unfortunately for the superhero he wasn't getting much out of the thief except scared silence as his eyes were more focused on the charizard than him or balder. "um...might wanna call back your friend ba-ba-ba-Beast of The Sun. Yeah that's a good name!" pokkenger shot a thumbs up at balder with glee from under his mask at the nickname he just came up with before the thief suddenly snatched the bag out from under him and ran off screaming his head off as pokkenger turned around and did a double take to realize what just happened.

"... The way you find these ridiculous nicknames is truly astonishing. Nor do I plan of wearing your suit. It's not like I need it to repel bull... Right. Forgot." Balder's face turned grim as he remembered the fact that Solgaleo was gone and he didn't have his powers anymore. It seemed like every day served as a bad reminder for this.[break][break]

The Charizard observed his trainer slightly sulking, while Pokkenger described what the criminal had done, and his motive. Wanting money was actually fair, and everyone wanted to do it as fast as possible. But the illegal way was definitely not the best one. It would only cause issues in the future, even though the original owner of this diamond might be a criminal too.[break][break]

And then Pokkenger suggested a new nickname, while Asking Balder to call Charizard back. Grave mistake, as the thief ran away with the package he had retrieved from the distracted "Hero". Balder facepalmed. "This is why you should just focus on the task at hand and bring him to the police station asap. Blaze, Wildfire. Don't burn anything."[break][break]

The Mega-G Charizard took a deep breath, before releasing an excessive amount of fire, which proceeded to circle around the thief and surround him with a massive wall of fire. No where to run now and no civilians were affected. The pavement had burnt marks but that's another story. "If you surrender and stop running, I'll stop the wall and bring you to safety. But keep resisting and this circle will grow smaller."

the words echoed in the pokkenger's head as he was frozen in place due to the utter foolishness of himself that if it could spread outwards his whole suit would turn bright red from first hand embarrassment at what just happened. he was really that dumb sometimes wasn't he? a grade a idiot in a spandex suit that didn't even compliment his ass.

luckily balder had a better handle on things, or at least had better composure than kazimir, as he ordered his charizard to corner the crook once again. only this time it was a wall of fire that was blocking his escape and kaz thought for a second about jumping into it before joining next to balder's side and looking at the circle of flames that kept their guy prisoner. "...y'know. I didn't think you were the harsh punishment kinda guy. didn't you just say we should bring him to the police station asap?"

from within the circle the sounds of a pleading man grew louder and louder as he begged for them to spare him. he would even return the stolen artifact and turn himself in, how could they get a better deal than that? "okay okay enough with the ring of hellfire, i think the guy's ready to give up. pretty sure we shaved off a third of his lifespan just by scaring him."

Pokkenger calling this a harsh punishment made the Alolan man chuckle a bit, displaying an evil grin as he was advancing towards the circle of flames. "Trust me, a harsh punishment would've been a lot worse then just being surrounded by fire. I need the boy to understand that what he did was a bad idea, and installing fear in him is the best way to do it."[break][break]

Balder arrived close enough to barely hear the pleas of the thief. Yet, Balder dismissed it. Screaming loud enough for theatrical purpose, he looked at pokkenger while doing a sign at Charizard to not listen to his order. "You know, it seems like our little thief ain't exactly ready to surrender his trophy! I think I'm gonna restrain the circle of fire at this point."[break][break]

Most likely, the criminal would start screaming and crying at this point. The Alolan man decided to approach the wall of flames even more, avoiding to touch it. Maybe prior to his sad events, he would've crossed it just fine, but now it was too risky. He made a hand sign to Pokkenger, as if he was ordering him to go on the other side of the circle before the circle of fire vanished.

he wasn't sure if he was more wary or more amazed at balder's attitude right now. the guy sure did seem like he was comfortable playing the bad cop in this situation but he also had a bit of control over it in a kind of cool way. maybe that was just kazimir finding him a lot more cooler than he probably imagined. "yeah...ok." even so he went along with the plan and circled around the ring of fire as the screams of the victims echoed deep inside of his chest.

be it a well of empathy and sympathy that was much deeper than one would think but kaz did feel a little sorry for subjecting the guy to this kind of torture, it wasn't quite right. the walls of fire went down and pokkenger was the first to step over the threshold and stand over the criminal who was in the fetal position "now let that be a lesson to you. don't mess around committing evil acts or the fires of justice will surround you till there's nowhere left to run." probably a bit dark considering all that's happened but as he reached down to yank the bag out of his hands he whispered a small "sorry" and held the bag up like a trophy. "looks like a job well done! so should we take this gentlemen to the police station mr. beast?"

Kazimir didn't seem like approve of this method of dealing justice. Before all of those events, Balder would've agreed with him. But now? His view on life and everything was darker, more direct and drastic. Hell, using a Mega evolution for a simple thief? Just that is overkill. Still, said Thief had some guts, taking the bag out of Pokkenger's hands even though a Mega evolved pokemon was staring at him.[break][break]

As the flames dissipated, the culprit was lying down on the ground in a fetal position. The guy was clearly traumatized beyond reason. Maybe... Just maybe, Balder had gone way too far. This was leaving a bad taste now. No wonder Pokkenger didn't seem like a fan of it. Even though he acted accordingly, using this circle of fire as a way to represent justice.[break][break]

Then came the final question, along with a weird nickname. Balder sighed at the name that he had gotten, but at this point he was too tired to fight it. "I'll handle transportation. You can go back on patrol or anything, whatever you do normally as your Hero-sona. Anything you wish to add before I take off with him?" As he said those words, Charizard approached them, the Mega Evolution dissolving as he walked.

yeah he defintely felt sorry for the poor crook, at the very least he hoped that he would be able to think back on this and improve on his life. he really didn't want to see this happening to anyone else which probably meant keeping an eye on balder in the future. guess he managed to bounce back from the trip into ultra space much better than anyone else, or maybe that was a bad thing? questions for a therapist later. "well alright then, i'll leave him to ya. and for your information ix-nay on the ero-sona-hay. i still got a secret identity to protect after all mr hoenn's most wanted from two thousand and ninteen. adieu~" with that the hero turned on a dime and waved goodbye as he released his braviary and hopped on before taking to the sky.
