SOmewhere in the back of his mind he feared he'd have to throw one of the togedemaru into the car of their proverbial Racer X as they passed him back just to make sure he didn't catch up in the last instant of the race.

But, it was all for naught.

With MAGNET RISE making the car lighter and TAILWIND urging them forward, they ripped past the frontrunner to claim the number one spot. Of course no one liked having the lead spot taken right from under them in the last seconds of the race so it was just their luck that the 'now-number-2' tried to tip their fender as they passed by.

It was a good idea, if it made contact he and Adrian would have wiped out quite nasty. The damage from the crash itself would have been one thing but who knows how the Togedemaru would have let off attacks inside the car at the frantic moment of being in their first car accident.

Of course, that too was for naught.

Unlucky bastard he was, his attempt to swipe their rear end was a full on miss and number 2 lost control of his wheels and ran off the road before he could recover. "Son of a bitch we did it!"

Past the finish line they stopped just long enough to gather up the pokémon they jettisoned earlier in the race before taking off into the night.

With the victory in hand they would have their meeting with the DK at their leisure, once everyone had had some time to cool off from the heated events of the race itself. Adrian seemed to play it cool that they took the number one spot with little to no damage to his ride but Sénon was manic that they were even alive. "You beautiful bastard you made it happen." He grabbed the wheelman by the face, to give him a mafia kiss without the murderous intentions those usually came with.
