This was far away from his usual hunting grounds, but he could certainly get used to it. It was certainly closer to the Viridian Forest than Slateport's streets were.

"Man, feel that nice, cool breeze." He said in delight as he felt the cold air brush against his cheeks and exposed skin, feeling glad he had foregone the working suit for his more usual threads.

Oh yeah, he was ready for a fruitful hunt.

"Let's fill up the roster some more, yeah?" He said while glancing over his shoulder, winking at Kama, who rolled her eyes but nodded.

Time to work.

The youth smiled as he watched a honeycomb dutifully fly by with pollen in its grasp, and slung his net over his shoulder before beginning to follow it.

It glanced at him, all three of its faces pursing their lips at him in question. He simply shrugged, winking at it.

"Just followin' ya'round; new to this place, need a guide." He said, not entirely dishonest. "Hope ya don't mind, friendo."

He certainly needed someone to lead him around this place; but you know what else he needed?

A Vespiqueen. Lead on, little buddy. Give papa Doug thought the Queen Bee.

The little Combee tried to fly faster.

Okay. Not the Queen he had been hoping for, but he couldn't well fault the Combee here.

"Clever girl." He muttered under his breath, crossing his arms under his chest as he stared at the Tsareena, who stared right back... sassily.

Doug did the smart thing and averted his gaze, before she decided he and her heel needed to become intimately acquainted.

"I didn't see anything, I didn't see anything..." He said while holding his arms in the air, slowly walking away. Behind him, Kama rolled her eyes, but did little to assist her trainer.

If he didn't want to pick a fight, she certainly wasn't gonna jump at the chance for new bruises.

Gonna be a hard pass for this one, sir. Back to following that clever Combee!

His following of the Combee was cut short by a sight that nearly blew him away.

"Oh my gods." He said as he stopped short, drawing an irritated snort out of Kama as she ran into his back. "Are you seeing what I'm seeing?"

The heck was he suddenly whispering about, could only wonder Kama as she peered over his shoulder, to a... fat, rolled up bug several meters away.

If she had eyebrows, this would be the part were she raised one of them.

"Don't give me that look. That's a Whirlipede...!" He said giddily, brandishing his net in delight. "You couldn't get those back in Kanto~!"

He giggled like a school girl as he began tip toeing towards the bug, Kama raising an arm to stop him from going alone- before letting it fall. She couldn't be assed.

"GOTCHA!" He said as he swung his net at- empty air.

The Whirlipede had dodged him. And was rolling away.

"GET IN THE DAMN NET!" He said as he broke into a dash after it while swinging his net about madly, drawing a groan out of the Scyther as she fell in line.

They managed to catch the terrified Whirlipede. Eventually.
