Oof... Was the only thought Apollo had when the weird little pink pokemon popped out of a nearby bush. He couldn't help his reaction, nor the way he stopped walking and snarled at it.W= What a creepy like pokemon, Apollo thought to himself as he stared it down. The Impidimp would glare back, crossing his arms over his chest in an attempt to mimic the look the trainer was giving him. Persian would let out a rumbly meow in question of what to do, as her tail flicked back and forth excitedly.

"Nah, ain't worth our time." Apollo said shaking his head and running his fingers alone the spine of the feline pokemon next to him. Impidimp would hiss at the words but continue back into the bush it had just jumped out from leaving the trainer and his cat alone.

As they wandered onwards Apollo noticed Whiskers becoming more and more tense, her tail going straight up and flicking rapidly at the tip. From many years besides her the man knew what was going on. She had spotted prey, the trainer reasoned. Apollo stopped walking and patted the Persian on the rump, a silent indicator for her to go hunt. It was always fascinating to see his partner in action. The fluid way in which she would crouch low to the ground, wiggle her hips to adjust in the exact right position -- and then the pounce!

A shrill cry and some growling were heard as Persian entered some tall grass, coming back quickly with a Pidove in her maw. It was clear she wanted to crunch her teeth and snap the poor things head but Apollo shook his head and Whiskers spit out her prize sighing with major angst. The poor Pidove would bounce once hitting the ground, crying out again as it struggled to right itself and make haste towards the tall grass right next to it. Perisan's golden eyes would lock onto the struggling flying time with glee. "Whiskers, leave it." Apollo's voice was commanding, making the longtime companion groan once again. Before trotting back to his side Persian would smack the flying type with a tiny bit of force before murmuring her displeasure and taking her trainer's side.

The flying type used the swat to give herself the momentum needed to disappear quickly into the grass once again. Good girl," Apollo purred, scratching her just behind the ear just how he liked. "Next one you can play with, promise. That one was too weak to be bothered with." Apollo gently spoke to his prideful pokemon. While he liked to see her hunt, he secretly hated how efficient and deadly she was with smaller pokemon.

Once done with their encounter Apollo would make his way off towards the end of the route, having felt like he had wasted a day there. Nothing of interest other than watching his cat basically murder another pokemon had happened and there was nothing here worthy of him worth catching or fighting. That was his thoughts as a Shiinotic would launch itself from the grass nearby and hiss angrily at the man and his pokemon. With a quick mental rundown of his owned pokemon Apollo would wave a hand to stop Whiskers who seemed intent on fighting this new opponent and toss out his Skorupi.

From what he remembered this pokemon was partially a fairy type and weren't those weak to poison? Well Apollo sure hoped so as the flash of red would conjure his pokemon. Skorupi waved his tail back in forth as a greeting towards his trainer. "Hey bud, gonna need you to battle this walking plant for me." Apollo explained, pointing towards Shiinotic who stood there angrily waiting. "Let's start this off with a poison fang."

Skorupi launched forward, seeking his sharp teeth into the flesh of Shiinotic. The mushroom pokemon screamed in pain, shuddering as a wave of poison launching itself into the very veins of her being. Despite being badly poisoned Shiinotic would use ingrain, allowing large roots to sprout where her feet stood and sap back health. It was clear the pokemon was much stronger than he originally thought by her moveset. May as well spam the only good attack he felt he had, right?

Before Shiinotic could make her next move Apollo would once again call for Skorupi to use poison fang! Once again the attack would cause the pokemon to shudder and even with her ability to suck health through her roots it was clear she wasn't doing well. Shuddering Shiinotic would return the attack with spore. The move would cause Shiinotic to launch barely visible with spores to cover her opponent, causing him to fall asleep quickly and without resistance.

Apollo growled and reached for his bag. Shiinotic had crippled his plan and that angered him. However he couldn't quite ignore how strong she really was. Each movement had caused her to shudder as the toxicity rain through her body. Despite paling ever more so and looking quite unwell she continued to fight. The trainer could admire that and instead of switching in Whiskers who was dying for his chance to actually get a go at Shiinotic he opted to toss a pokeball at her. With a flash of red light Shiinotic was swallowed whole and the pokeball shook weakly just once, before confirming the capture.

"Hell yeah!" He cheered, patting the sleeping Skorupi's head before returning him to his own pokeball while scooping up the newly filled one.
