Indeed it did.

Twice as awful as route 114 during high noon, and it was midnight.

His camp had been set hours ago, and he had laid on his sleeping bag for about as long. But it was no use. He had chosen his resting place poorly, clearly.

He hadn't had much of a choice. His Gallade more or less could not teleport to places where he hadn't been to before, nor were within his line of sight.

And Gwyar had no intention of giving in and going back the way he came for a taxi. He had already made it this far, might as well see how far it went before heatstroke did its magic.

The Galarian man was taken out of his strange line of thought by a rustling going on outside of his tent. He couldn't really see much of what was outside; he had killed the fire before turning in for the night, and the moon was not being particularly strong on that night...

He reached under his pillow and decided to step out of the tent.

The man blinked, staring down the cute little lynx standing before his tent.

He had swung the tent open rather dramatically, but the Litleo remained unmoved, slightly tilting its head at him before one of its ears twitched, prompting it to scratch it with one of its paws.

Not much of a threat, to be perfectly honest- at least not as it looked now, perfectly calm.

The man's brow furrowed, his hand slowly inching towards a nearby pokeball.

Should he...? He did need to fill out his ranks.

Before he could however, his attention was stolen by yet another rustle nearby, his gaze snapping towards it sharply.

Gonna PASS on the Litleo... for now.

So sharply in fact, the little Mienfoo stumbling out of a shrub nearby froze in place the moment their eyes met, a small bead of sweat rolling down its cheek as they suddenly entered into a staring contest.

"... You kids better be going." Said the man after a few seconds, reaching over to ruffle the little Litleo's patch of fur and waving at the nervous Mienfoo before standing back at his full height, stretching his arms above his head with a grunt, the many disks of his spine popping soundly as he did.

And then a bloody branch snapped nearby.

Sigh.

"Now what."

"All right, you all." He said firmly, jolting the little houndour.

He pointed at each pokemon individually, before gesturing sharply in a random direction. "Out, the lot of you!"

He clapped twice.

"Chop chop. Get to it! Don't give me that look, it doesn't work on me."

Honestly.

... Well, they had been a nice distraction from the sizzling heat, if nothing else.
