Rolling his shoulders, shaking his legs, and cracking his neck Soren limbered up. He had planned to do this ages ago, but never got around to it. Dusknoir had been with him for years now, and he was content with his partner. They had been through a lot together, and well, he figured with the way things were going. He didn't want to leave all the dirty work to his partner. The two even talked about it momentarily, but it went kind of how all conversations with a Pokemon go: in the human's favor.

Nonetheless, the two set out on foot. Figured he'd take things in nearby for starters and then venture out further as his journey led him there. Thus, here they were. Strolling through the lower districts, Jackie remained out of his ball in a battle-ready stance, floating along, eager to do something other than stealing for once.

Feint memories of his deceased parents eclipsed reality momentarily, leaving him with a yearning to remember more. Visually stunted for but a reaction's time before he carried on. The subtle flashback haunted his mind, though he didn't wish to put it on display or speak on it. Who would listen anyway...

The appearance of the electric robit worm startled Soren, his body flinching in retort. His eyes grew dim in dissatisfaction with his cowardice before letting out a light sigh. He resituated himself, combing his hand through his hair and clearing his throat as though the last few seconds had never happened. The small Charjabug seemingly curious of what the two were up to, not hostile in the least. He thought for a moment. Looking over to Dusknoir, the eagerness in his furrowed brow and battle-ready hands that were lit ablaze with a black aura. He couldn't help but not let the opportunity go to waste.

Dusknoir's singular eye edging over to Soren, he awaited his command anxiously. Throwing his hands up, Soren gave in. "Fine, just don't mutilate the poor thing." Dusknoir steamed eager to be put into action and Soren took a defensive "trainer's" stance before pointing to their foe. "Alright, Jackie! Let's put it down quick and easy! Fire Punch!" Dusknoir snarled in loyalty to the command before racing toward the small bug at a hefty pace. Cranking back and unleashing a blaze of physical damage down upon the helpless creature.

Wincing in watching the demise of the Charjabug, Soren drew his arms up. His will to watch such brutality clearly nonexistent. "Alright, Jack, let's see what else we can find..."

The two carried on throughout the lower districts leaving that depressing attempt at training behind them, but Jackie was definitely proud of himself. At least he was happy. As they continued on, they came to a building that looked as though it had not been inhabited for years now. The grass sprawled from the ground thick and at a great height. A thistle pressed Jackie's lobes sending him into high alert, positioning himself between Soren and the grass.

The large quadrupod's head peaked from the grass, letting out a grunt. Just as it did that, Soren took a leap backward. "Jackie, Shadow Sneak before it can do anything! Let's try to weaken it!" Jackie steamed out of his stomach before vanishing beneath the earth and quickly appearing behind the Lairon, dominating its internals with the swift, but might blow. Before the Lairon could recuperate itself he tossed a ball.

3...

The ball settled just outside the grass. "Sick!" Soren exclaimed stretching his words to emphasize. "We've got another weapon to train up to be like you now, Jack." He explained, grasping the ball before letting it fall into his pocket as it shrank down to the carry size.

"Let's call it a day, bud."
