The grass around the area looked scorched—wait, was there something on fire?!

Ah, shit, just when I don’t have a Water-type on me! he thought in a panic as he frantically looked around, wondering where the Pokémon that was walking around setting the grass alight!

“Crap, crap, crap!” he muttered, frantically looking around and not finding what was causing the grass on fire. Looking up to the heavens, he hoped that the skies would drop some rain—he didn’t have any Water-types on him at the time.

“Ah, shit,” he grumbled, wading deeper into the grass. Where had that Pokémon gone off to? He didn’t know.

The next thing he encountered and it was—aww, so cute!

But he already has this one in the form of a Jumpluff, so…

“Aww. I can’t take you home, though, I already have one,” he muttered to himself under his breath as he watched the Hoppip fly around on the wind. He wondered if he was going to get lucky on the next encounter, because time was running short and he had to make sure he was back on track.

So much for looking for a Bug-type he didn’t have yet—one that had wings at least.

Thankfully, today’s search wasn’t going to end entirely in vain—because how the hell did a Water-type end up so far inland?!

“Whoa, what the—” he remarked, blinking as he saw the Mantyke floating about, bobbing around and basically bobbing through the area. “Okay that’s one I don’t have yet—time to grab it,” he said to himself, quickly sending out his Aerodactyl, Terra.

As the splitting roar shook the area, the Mantyke saw that it wasn’t alone—and quickly proceeded to unleash utter hell, quite literally, by using Hydro Pump without warning!

“Fly!” he shouted at the Aerodactyl, who dodged skyward with a sudden burst of Agility. “Be careful!” he added, before the small… not-so-sea pancake followed up with a Water Pulse attack.

Yikes, it’s determined to bring Terra down! he thought as the Aerodactyl dodged in mid-air again with another application of Agility. Hoping that it wasn’t going to get caught, the Fossil Pokémon did a barrel roll around the attack, coming in close with a sudden Thunder Fang, catching the Mantyke off-guard.

“Nice!” he cheered, before the Mantyke used Bounce in an attempt to get away—but the Aerodactyl was faster. A third burst of Agility made him catch up, and another Thunder Fang brought down the not-so-flappy sea pancake of a Pokémon.

“And it’s ours,” he chirped, flinging a Pokéball at the Mantyke.
