Same song, new week.

As a change of pace during his weekly roll through the fiery path he'd brought with him little Shinx, who was in desperate need of some exercise and combat; he was becoming a bit of a house cat.

Today, against these burners and poisoners he would reclaim his battle spirit.

His decline in combat ferocity wasn't entire his fault though. Even now, Sénon had to resist the urge to carry him.

Today was more about refining and training a pokémon he already had than finding a new one, but with any luck he could do both, and with none of last week's emotional turmoil. "Get ready Shinxy, today we dip your toes back into battling."

With Shinxy in tow they moved past the Numel to see what else there was the Fiery Path would produce today.

As much as he wanted training for his electric-type some pokémon weren't worth picking the fight with unless you were going to confine them to pokéball.

His eyes widened as a Turtonator slowly made its way by.

Another highly dangerous and volatile species (even among fire-types). One he had no use for in his roster at the moment and one whom it wasn't worth the risk of Shinx attacking.

It was getting late but he held out hope a proper challenge, a proper risk and a proper addition to the team would come in one pokemon body.

Noticing the fire horse before it noticed them Sénon sent Shinx in head first to attack. From its lower height it made a nasty CRUNCH on the whinnying horse's leg before being hit with a TAKE DOWN, which he answered with a TAKE DOWN of his own.

Shinx used CRUNCH!
Ponyta used TAKE DOWN!
Shinx used TAKE DOWN!

The Shinx determined and the Ponyta defensive the two quadrapeds returned TAKE DOWN blows until both were on their last legs. Before he use a pokéball on the tired out fire-type it's fire burned brighter as it seemed to use a move that healed its damage and restored its fighting vitality. It reared its head back as its flames spread from the back to engulf its whole body as it stared down the trainer and its annoying biter pokémon.

The Ranger knew a FLAME CHARGE coming when he saw one. With Shinx almost beaten he was forced to concede from the fight, but Sénon wasn't going to let this incredible Ponyta slip through his grasp. "Volt Switch!"

Ponyta used MORNING SUN!
Shinx used VOLT SWITCH; Shinx swapped with Ranton

With a quick exchange Shinx was out and Ranton was in, waiting obediently for her orders. "HYDRO PUMP!"

Ranton used HYDRO PUMP; its Super Effective!

The pony whom was only defending itself had its every flames doused out with power and a distinct lack of mercy. If not for the fact that a certain greatness awaited the defeated horse, Sénon might have felt bad for it.

Crimsen attempted to capture K!Ponyta!
