Doug pointed his net at it, narrowing his eyes dangerously. The disrespect.

"Never show yer face to me again, little guy." He hissed lowly, before reaching up to slowly drag a finger over his neck. "Or I'll tickle yer neck. YA HEAR ME?!"

It was almost instant, his arm reeling back with rod in hand to strike at the unwanted sight. No Minior?! No want! NO MERCY!

His wrath did no survive first contact with the enemy's tears, however.

"Shi- No, no, wait..." The youth immediately began to mutter as the little Happiny began bawling dropping to his knees while looking around furtively. No matter how one looked at it, the scene definitely painted him as the bad guy here. Oh dear, oh dear...

"Come on, girlie... No need for that." He muttered as he picked her up, hugging her. She only cried harder at that, now in captive to her assailant.

"Oh come on."

BOOM.

The (Entirely imaginary) sound barrier (within Doug's brain) snapped and cracked audibly as the youth's neck nearly 360d towards a Minior in the far distance, causing the Happiny he had just befriended to scream in terror.

"Found you." Muttered the bugcatcher entity lowly as it sprang into motion, grabbing its net before tearing through the soil of the Safari Zone. Greenery and pebbles crumbled under his imperious charge, the Happiny in his grip screaming the entire time as he charged towards his target.

The Minior heard them coming from miles away, but it was merely curious as to what the racket was all about.

That is, until the demonic Bugcatcher burst out of the bushes.

The Minior felt its soul leave its body as it made eye contact with the net wielder.

"Congratulations. You belong to Zac Ramsay now."

"Sure. Why not." Doug said dryly, staring at the hat shaped thing before him with a tilted brow. Well, this was certainly 'safari' like.

Every time he found a Galarian pokemon in the wild, he could only think of how shit a job the Rangers and borderguard were doing, letting all these foreign species infect propagate within Hoenn's ecosystem freely on one hand, and letting contrabandists bring them in on the other.

High Competency at the top brass making decisions, No standards whatsoever at the executive level was the League's motto, it seemed at times.

"I should try half-assing my job to get a promotion." The youth muttered bitterly, before blinking to himself. The heck was he going on about...?

"OH NO, YOU DON'T! I SAID 'WHY NOT'!" Screamed the youth as he sprinted after the pokemon, swinging the net around wildly, scaring it even more.

"Pass. I've seen better." Doug said, unimpressed as he walked by the frozen shocked Hula Dancer, not even sparing the bird a second glance.

Should have been the Pom Pom's one if it wanted to catch his attention. Birds already had a hard time interesting the insect lover without stealing themes from Bellossom.
