Jasper awoke on the first day of his vacation like he would any other. At 5 AM his alarm went off and at 5 AM and 5 seconds Ceaser, Jaspers Growlithe, leaped onto the bed to assist in the wake-up process with a copious amount of slobbery kisses. Jasper humored Ceaser for longer than normal, rolling around in bed with him and scruffing him up, before tossing his blanket over the Puppy Pokemons head and stumbling off to the shower. He finished the rest of his routine, eating breakfast and getting dressed, with lackadaisical care as his boylike excitement grew and grew. He almost forgot to stop by the Pokemart and say goodbye to his parents before heading off. It was a big day after all and he could not wait to get started. Today was the beginning of something special for Jasper. As he stood at the edge of town looking off towards Route 114 he felt himself swell with excitement and worry. After saving up a ridiculous amount of vacation time Jasper was heading off to take the Gym Challenge and become a real Pokemon Trainer. As he took his first steps away from Fallarbor he decided to take a quick reverent pitstop before actually heading out of town. Just at the edge of Route 114 and Fallarbor, there was a small shrine for some past calamity that was a point of much contention. The shrine had recently become home to some Ghost Pokemon who had been harassing travelers. Some of the folk in town thought that the Ghosts were spirits of the departed and that they should not be bothered, but the Office had decided differently. Normally Jasper would not be out fighting wild pokemon and playing Psychic but it seemed a fitting start to his journey. By trying to run off the Ghost pokemon he could get some personal experience for both him and Ceaser. It was a win-win situation that didn't seem too difficult to manage. He had a basic understanding of Pokemon Matchups so he figured Ceaser could probably take on some wimpy ghost pokemon. With that in mind, he made one last stop at home before departing. He needed his trainer kit his mom had made for him. Despite working a local Mart his family was not well off so his mother had made his new adventuring gear with his father's help. Jasper snapped on the Pokeball belt and tossed the hiking backpack with a sleeping bag roll on.
