Okay, so after that rather…eventful encounter with the Sealeo, he pressed on.

Lars didn’t know how many, or how much further he had to go when it came to looking for Ice-types, but he knew he had more than enough time to keep searching through the lowest levels of Shoal Cave.

It wasn’t time for the tides to change yet, at least according to the calculations he made—the tides within the cave came in approximate six to eight-hour bursts; which was definitely more than enough time for him to keep searching.

Who would he find this time? His collection was growing, albeit at a much slower pace than the snarky voice in his head would like.

At least he was trying!

The first thing he sighted after managing to coax the Sealeo into a Pokéball was—

Wait, didn’t he already have this one?

Checking his PokéGear for confirmation, he looked at the Avalugg once, then twice—before realizing that the one he had was shiny, even though he couldn’t tell the difference—unless he squinted at the eyes carefully.

Gah, why do some of these shinies have almost the same coloration as their normal selves? So strange… he thought to himself as he gave this Avalugg a wide berth, before going deeper into the cave to continue searching.

Little did he realize he was going to run into some trouble the further in he went.

…because what else would he run into than the fully-evolved version of the derpface of a Sealeo he’d encountered earlier?!

Uh-oh, that’s not good… he thought to himself as he noted that this Walrein looked… rather pissed off.

Oh boy.

He had a feeling the Sealeo from earlier was either related to this one, or was its mate, and so…

“Shit,” he muttered under his breath, hoping the Walrein wouldn’t start chasing him down like a particular Glalie would whenever it saw him—

He bolted.

Deeper into the colder reaches of Shoal Cave he went.

The last thing he would encounter was—

“Really?” he drawled, an unamused look on his face as he crossed his arms and came within sight of the Beartic that was pawing at the wall, trying to get something stuck inside said wall out of it.

That’s a bit dumb, what the hell is it trying to dislodge out of the wall? He thought as he walked by the Beartic, the better to get a look at what was going on.

Sadly, this trek would not end in a capture, for he already had one of them—the very same Beartic that had helped him survive a night out in a forest… with bugs…
