The kindness she thought she was receiving was convenience. The care, simple efficiency. He just wanted to make sure his promising new recruit didn't go and break herself. She decided to read into it what wasn't there. Sure, Gavin doesn't get the rest of what she's saying but why should he? It was just more venting of feelings he didn't reciprocate. A dying gasp from thoughts she should have never been nursing. He looks uncomfortable. Frustrated? It's hard to place. She shouldn't be trying.
