[attr="class","alex"] pokemon tag @tag words 489 notes an unexpected find. | Not too long after he’d driven back the Wailmer into the water with a loud splash and had recalled Marius, he proceeded to go deeper into the cave proper. He was still amazed that it was still possible to contact the outside world via his PokéGear, despite the fact that he’d configured the screen to look like the C-Gear from his homeland. Hell, he’d even managed to recover his old C-Gear information and had transferred most of the data from his incomplete Pokédex to the one in this region altogether…
…and he was looking through some wanted ads on the Poké-bay website again. He’d seen two wanted ads he wanted to fill out; thankfully there was still a lot of time to fill them in before they actually expired—hell he’d already gotten in contact with the ad-poster and they’d agreed to have the transaction when he managed to get the two Pokémon the other was looking for—when the Gear went off.
Looking up, he then saw another beached Pokémon—but this time it was yet another familiar face to him. Having seen their numbers scattered around Unova, he was very familiar with Tirtouga—and this one was just warming itself on the shore. While he wasn’t aware of any differences to tell males from females apart, he quickly called his Riolu forward, watching as the Fighting-type somersaulted out from the burst of red light.
“Go on, have a go at it, Vince. I know you want to get some exercise in. Do what you have to,” he said, putting his trust in the Riolu as the Fighting-type charged forward and starting the offensive with a one-two Force Palm strike. The turtle, surprised that there was something attacking it from out of nowhere, quickly lashed back with an Ancient Power attack, the stones levitating before smacking in all manner of directions.
While some of the rocks had landed harmlessly around the Riolu, some of them had managed to smack the Fighting-type around—thankfully he was fast enough to avoid most of the bigger boulders. Not missing a beat, the Tirtouga launched itself forward with an Aqua Jet, smacking the Fighting-type around the face—but this provided a window of opportunity for the Riolu, smashing its fists in another Force Palm attack before dashing backward.
Full-out pissed, the Tirtouga began to chase the Riolu around with a Rock Slide, but the alternating technique between Force Palm and Bullet Punch allowed it to smash most of the obstacles headed in its direction out of thin air, before closing the distance and continuing the assault.
The loud smacking and chucking of boulders went on for a few more minutes, until Vincent approached him, dragging the Tirtouga his way. Nodding at a job well done, he then took out a blank Pokéball and dropped it atop the turtle, watching as the red beam of light shot out to absorb its new occupant…
