cafe del marill's a short walk away. again, he swears he feels eyes darting towards them as they stroll through the streets, and though they were only walking for about five minutes, he's starting to get a good sense of the things that accompanies fame and popularity.

after ordering their food, danny settles into the booth, both comfortable and relieved that the shoot's over.

"don't take this the wrong way or anything...but just how famous are you?" he asks, gentle. "i swear people keep looking at you. it's kinda crazy."

Slateport City. A city perpetually smelling of sea-salt, due to the sun evaporating the very edges of the seawater, and the wind current carrying the particles inland. The two of them were slowly carried towards a breakfast place. A diner selling staples, whose vague oily scent cut through the salt-dusted air and attacked their noses.

Casey seemed to regard the attention with a slight remove. A feeling that seemed to sink in almost immediately. He kept it at bay by putting on a smile, and even winking at any eye unlucky enough to catch his.

The two of them sat down at a booth, and Casey steepled his fingers at the table, covering his mouth. He thought for a second, then felt that atleast talking about it would bring him some relief. "Well, I'm not like... famous-famous. My dad is the treasury secretary of Fallarbor. Both of my cousins are gym leaders, and one of them is on TV all the time. I kinda look like them, but who knows how long I'll be able to coast on that?"

the comment escapes before he can stop it. he chuckles, shrugging off awkwardness before it can weigh. he reaches for a glass of water while he listens.

"you said, melody, right? if it means anything i don't think you look much like her. just the hair, maybe." he gets to his point: "i also don't think you're coasting on it. you seem to be making a name for yourself, at least from what i saw back there. the others seemed to respect you."

Casey smiled, trying to focus on what Danny told him. He could understand being respected, sure. What came with that was the ordeal of being known. Feeling eyes on you at all times. He pointed at an omelette stuffed with hot peppers on the menu, and handed the laminated placard back to the waiter.

The two of them sat down at a booth, and Casey steepled his fingers at the table, covering his mouth. He thought for a second, then spoke up to address Danny. "Thanks. You too, man. Like... if that was how you handled your first shoot, you'll be all over the place six months from now. You might be able to jump the line if you end up on a televised Pokemon Contest, or date someone famous."

the thought of him up on stage has him preemtively cringing. he'd likely freeze and mess up his routine — but then again, he thought he'd freeze during the shoot, too. he'll consider it.

"...but i am dating someone famous, i think. i'm still not too acquainted with hoenn's pop culture and stuff."

he shrugs.

"but i joined the shoot to sort of get a taste of what that life was like, you know?"
