He didn’t know how the other would take to him vaping while they were in the middle of a match. “Yeah, that’s me. Lars, by the way,” he introduced himself, taking a deep inhale to hold the last of the vanilla-scented vapor as long as possible. |

Normally he would have him and Lynette working together, however this time it was going to be a test run of the new moves he’d taught Gareth. Especially after that fiasco in the Cave of Origin? Yes, he definitely needed to get some variety of moves for his Gallade. Taking his position on the other side of the arena, he looked over to wherever the person officiating the match stood, before nodding. “Ready when you are!” |

 Safeguard? Reflect? Crap, I should really do a double-check on that… he thought as he tried to guess what the other one was. “Gareth, Ka—Shadow Sneak!” he began, and the Gallade then stamped down a foot on the sand, extending the shadow he had, an attempt to trap the Sylveon across the field. Whether it would work or not, he would then lunge forward, another attempt at a Drain Punch, without prompting. Gallade used Shadow Sneak attempting to pin down Sylveon, and followed up with an attempt at Drain Punch! |

Lars knew perfectly well that the only one Gareth would bow down to was Lynette, and the shadow of a smirk crossed his face for the briefest of moments. At least one of the attacks had managed to connect, before the Gallade crossed his blade-like arms together, summoning up his fighting spirit in a Swords Dance maneuver, skidding backwards in the process. “Don’t lose your head!” he called to the Gallade, who looked back to Lars and nodded, before turning around in time to see that the pink Pokémon had fired off a blast of energy—similar to one of his Gardevoir’s best moves. The Gallade blinked for a few moments, before conjuring up the fastest Protective shield he’d ever mustered—even faster than the one he’d summoned in the Cave of Origin. Now the question was, would it hold? Gallade used Swords Dance to raise its Attack, before conjuring up a Protect in an attempt to block the incoming Moonblast! |

“Are you going to let Lynette nag you again later?” Lars said to the Gallade, who rose up from the kneeling position it had been forced to. Shaking his head, the Gallade took a deep breath, before eyeing the Sylveon. There was no way he was going to miss—right? The dual-type then raised a foot—the only warning sign Lars had as he braced himself before a violent tremor shook the area—an Earthquake had been unleashed upon the area! Gallade is hit by the Disarming Voice, before retaliating with an Earthquake attack! (+2 atk from earlier Swords Dance) |

A really nasty, bothersome nag. Who could nag for days on end whenever he got into some serious shit. Lars’s face drew into a thin line, before he noticed that the Gallade had realized something. “You know what to do!” he said as he crossed his arms, recovering his balance in the process. The Gallade barely had enough time to throw up another Protective screen as he rushed forward, crossing his arm-blades in the process. If they had to end it, and end it soon, he had to get up close and personal—which was going to be difficult considering that the Sylveon knew a move that could easily bring him to his knees. Once he had approached the pink Pokémon as close as he dared, he then lashed out with a close-range attempt at another Earthquake before vaulting himself up into the air from the momentum he’d used to lunge forward. Gallade uses Protect to block the Disarming voice, before closing the distance and unleashing an Earthquake attack at close-range! (+2 atk from earlier Swords Dance) |

Gareth couldn’t keep dodging forever, and Lars knew that as much as the Gallade did. Seeing that the Sylveon was being a nimble little Pop. A slight noise signified that the Gallade had Teleported out of harm’s way, but where was he going to end up? Even Lars was wondering what Gareth was up to. While he had a pretty good grasp of how Lynette was in a battle, Gareth was the wild card among his main team—he didn’t have a full understanding yet on the Gallade’s thought processes. So either he was being very crafty, or— A sudden popping noise announced his reappearance, before the Gallade slammed both his feet down in a stomping Earthquake tremor as close to the Sylveon as possible— While this would leave him exposed, they were pretty much reaching the brink. Only one would win, but who would it be? Gallade used Teleport to evade the Moonblast attack, and reappears as close as he can to the Sylveon in a surprise Earthquake maneuver at very close-range! (+2 atk from earlier Swords Dance) |
